    Does Ktuner recommend upgrading to CAI, better Intercooler, better downpipe, remove of CATs and better Spark plugs?
    It would be nice for Ktuner to offer a Hardware & Software turnkey system.

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good idea, but I think they are leaving the packages to the tuners. Generally a bigger interview is recommended

    Hi, great video. Sorry new to Type R. Just bought my 19 civic type r over the weekend. Quick question... can you tune stage 0 or 1 without doing any physical mod on the car? Does it work? Thank you.

    Awesome video mate! really well done. However I was looking for more answers such as, what this will do in terms of wear in the future. What can go wrong if done incorrectly? who's liable? what can you do? And also if you can revert to stock, would "they" know, or have specialized equipment to check up on this, if I bring it in for a.. "checkup" lol

    • @redrojo22911
      @redrojo22911 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlyinGato but what if we have simple bolt ons like exhaust, intake, downpipe? When I had a stang, the tuner asked for mods. Also, you're saying that we can do stage 0 and 1 and gain 50+ hp just with the tune alone?

  • @mattraymond1707
    @mattraymond1707 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should make a video about anti lag/ 2 step. Is it safe to run on these motors/ turbo setups. And is there a tune available that provides this?

  • @EJ257IHI
    @EJ257IHI 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to change the fuel pump with the CTR for Stage 1 or stage 2? Back in the days when I owned a 2004 STi, you had to change the fuel pump to walbro 255 when you went stage 2.
    How strong is the clutch with all the added torque?

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      stage 1 is fine with the fuel pump, stage 2 will likely require a fuel pump upgrade. As for the clutch, it seems to be pretty strong

      On turbo cars, you can more a lot of power with tuning and bolt ons.

    • @DevasionX
      @DevasionX 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends how much stock internals can handle, you can overtune it and put too much strain on the engine and turbo. however the K20C is first of all, its Honda. quality engine. and its forged.

    So basically need a new intercooler if you are going for stage 1 tune ?

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you're going to track it on a hot day yes, otherwise, like he said, if you just use it to go to work or on the weekends, it's all good. I'm going to look into that PRL intercooler soon...

    • @michaelcooley8275
      @michaelcooley8275 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gato, I would actually look into a radiator or supplemental fan for the stage 1on the track. Simple math-- if you increase the power by 15% then you increased the heat load by 15% and likely more because you probably took the efficiency of the motor down some. Saw an internet video that was questioning the Type R's cooling. I remember one thing was broken yet that doesn't change the fact you increased the heat load by 15%. The turbo is just falling on it's face because greater boost is more heat and thinner air but that isn't going to hurt you like real hot coolant and much thinner oil. Gotta pay to play!!!

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll definitely be monitoring that as well, I'm starting out with the stage 0 tune

  • @nc2988
    @nc2988 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    If stage 0 is safe, and adds a big chunk of horsepower, I wonder why Honda doesn't just throw it in the production Type R to begin with? There must be a downside,..like increased wear? Or maybe the drive train wasn't designed to handle the extra power?

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emissions, stage 0 increases fuel, makes it less lean, but makes it safe

    • @fvjhuynh
      @fvjhuynh 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      well...do you think there's any way to lean it out to make emissions while still increasing power? I'm hoping it's not too hard, unless this civic has modded parts, especially if the exhaust has changed in any way.
