  • Buachaille Etive Mòr, or as it’s often called The Buachaille, is possibly the most photographed mountain in Scotland, standing at the edge of Rannoch Moor at the entrance to Glencoe. Alistair climbed it on a beautiful summer’s morning, witnessing a partial cloud inversion, whilst taking in the various peaks that make up the walk.

The Kingshouse Hotel is the closest. You could probably walk from it to the mountain without adding much on. After that there may be some accommodation at the ski centre further, but then Glencoe Village or Fort William aren’t too far away either.
