Video is helpful. I wish they’d call the MY a hatchback instead of an SUV, feels more appropriate. I have a 17 and 12 year old and we never noticed an issue with headspace but I’m sure going from more to less is far more noticeable
I have driven the new Model 3 "Highland" and it's absolutely a great car i would buy immediately if i was just alone. As i have a family with kids, a dog and want to move some larger stuff around, i ended up buying the Model Y. It's just so much more practical.
Given that model y costs the same as model 3, if you didn't have kids, would you still have gone for model 3? Right now with discounts + 7500 tax deduction, you can get model y long range for the same price as the new model 3
@@mr.anonymous6098 Probably yes. It's a more fun car to drive with a more sporty feeling and a bit more range. Keep in mind I've been used to driving a sporty BMW 335D touring. However, the missing stalks are a pain in a European country with a million roundabouts..
Great quick comparison. I have the model 3 for Uber and my biggest complaint is how difficult it is for mobility challenged persons to get out of the back seat. That being said, other people are impressed with the large space in the back of the 3. They don't expect so much leg room and head room. But, obviously, coming from the Y, it would be much less.
I am so glad I found this video! I've been between the M3 and the MY for a while. Last night my wife and I went and test drove the refreshed Model 3 and it was FANTASTIC! We already have a 4 door sedan and with the potential of a family on the horizon, I just have to wait for the refreshed MY, which I hope is early 25!
You have kids….get the model Y. You have teenagers or no kids, a Model 3 is sufficient, and offers several advantages: More fun to drive, better range and consumption, cheaper and it looks much better.
The Y mostly has more head-room for the kids, not sure it's that big of a difference otherwise although I'm comparing with the highland. The real difference is the trunk space.
I'm a new father and your kid as a benchmark, alongside your input from experience with kids in both cars, steered me away from the new Model 3. Thanks!
Great video. I'm getting a model Y and just needed to make sure I am making the best choice for me. Off the topic, I watch a pinoy in SD that reviews drones and you remind me of him.
Hey Aldryn. Didn't know you had an EV channel outside of your FlytPath drone channel. Considering the Model Y and getting rid of my Jeep Gladiator. Model 3 would definitely be too small for all 4 of us.
After riding as a passenger a bunch of times in Model 3 and Y Ubers, I would say the Y is infinitely more comfortable for someone ~ 6 foot. It's almost hard to crawl out of the backseat of the Model 3 for me.
I don't have kids but the Model Y is more attractive to me. 1) ride height. I don't like small cars. 2) trunk space. I want to be able to put a bunch of stuff in the car if needed for trips
Super nice video. Thank you a lot. About the MY. You have 3 kids. Do they sit comfortably on the rear seat? Especially on the long distances (500* km)? How old are they?
@@TeslaoftheDay Thanks. Then seems M3 is more for singles and MY more for families. Will need to compare features of both. But seems they are equal. Only difference in size. Soon MY will be restyled like the M3 did recently. And then it looks like a really good candidate to buy
What’s the proper way to close my model Y trunk lid if I’m carrying a box that sticks out the back? Is it better to attempt to close the lid so that it maintains pressure on the box? Or, should I adjust the maximum opening height down to the level of the box and just leave it open?
Agreed. This video is great but these comparison videos are sometimes confusing because it's always the tall people with a family who typically ride SUVs/mid-SUVs pointing out the things sedan drivers are very used to. I am short and drive a sedan so I don't care that it's low to the ground. I am trying to look for a video where a shorter driver has their seat configured for driving in a Model 3 and can tell me how the leg room is back there for both tall and short people (esp a particular height where you think hitting a bump might cause a tall person's head to hit the top glass).
put kids in front of a camera and a car to play with and they are the happiest.. :D.. nice video btw.. i am torn between the 2 as well.. but with the rebate applicable on MY and not on M3 there is not much to think of.. MY comes out as the winner..
Well, the good news is that 2 year old Model 3 values have plummeted 50%. You should be able to get a used Model 3 for $25K. People are defaulting on their loans.
this the best Model 3 & Y comparison video I've seen so far
Thanks
Agreed
This is the best comparison out there!
Others be like talking about specs and range and software version damn
Thanks to you and your assistant for the review. She really showed the differences.👍

Your daughter showing the diff sizes for comparison was a great job. Y looks best for families alright
Oh it's his daughter! I thought it was his mail order bride.
@Brinta3 yikes!
great side by side comparisons. being a family man myself it's a no brainer here, the functionality of the Y is huge for an EV.
Thank you for keeping this short and sweet and for not giving us fluff

Great comparison. My head says Model Y, it's definitely more practical. But my heart says Model 3, I think it just looks more sleek and fun to drive.
Thanks for the little model demonstration of space difference! ☺️ This video is super helpful.
Finally! I can't believe it was so difficult to find a good video comparing both models. Thank you so much 🙌
Appreciate that

what a great job showing the differences - your daughter did a great job!!

Tesla Y look better then Model 3.
But Tesla 3 cheaper so great option
I got Tesla 3
@@andreasl4507Really? I think the Y looks like an egg on wheels. Maybe the refresh will look better.
The size differences were so clearly illustrated! Thanks
2:25 Use the opening from the back seats to load this in the trunk space of the Model 3. I saw this tip on TH-cam.
wanted to show how much more room you have from the rear to load things. the hatchback makes a huge difference.
Great overview... concise and to the point. Kudos!
How cute is your daughter helping lol 🤍
I'm a new father and your kid as a benchmark, alongside your input from experience with kids in both cars, steered me away from the new Model 3. Thanks!
I wish you would’ve shown yourself getting in and out of the model Y for comparison. But other that that, great video
daughter is a paid actor great job
Great video. I'm getting a model Y and just needed to make sure I am making the best choice for me. Off the topic, I watch a pinoy in SD that reviews drones and you remind me of him.
Thanks. That drone guy is me :)
Can you comment on the differences of the driver seating position of the 3 and Y?
Hey Aldryn. Didn't know you had an EV channel outside of your FlytPath drone channel. Considering the Model Y and getting rid of my Jeep Gladiator. Model 3 would definitely be too small for all 4 of us.
Hey what’s up Anthony. Ya I don’t cross promote it so most people don’t know :)
After riding as a passenger a bunch of times in Model 3 and Y Ubers, I would say the Y is infinitely more comfortable for someone ~ 6 foot. It's almost hard to crawl out of the backseat of the Model 3 for me.
Agree

Great comparison. I like the Model Y better.
Better ground clearance too.
I’m 5’7” athletic. 170lbs man. The model 3 driver’s seat area is tiny. It’s like sitting in a race car. The model y has plenty more room.
Super nice video. Thank you a lot.
About the MY. You have 3 kids. Do they sit comfortably on the rear seat? Especially on the long distances (500* km)? How old are they?
Ages 5,8,11 and they’ve been fine on our trips. Had maybe 5 - 2-3 hours trips and two trips 7+ hours.
@@TeslaoftheDay Thanks. Then seems M3 is more for singles and MY more for families.
Will need to compare features of both. But seems they are equal. Only difference in size. Soon MY will be restyled like the M3 did recently. And then it looks like a really good candidate to buy
haha your daughter is adorable. I should do this with my kids :)
Thank you for this! So helpful!

Your daughter is beautiful. She is a wonderful helper as well !
Great comparison video thanks for this!
The Model 3 should have been a hatchback...I don't think that would have cannibalized sales from the Y, being that the Y is so much larger overall.
Thanks very helpful 🙏
Great review😂 this was very creative.
too bad model y refresh aint coming out till next year
I’m 6’2 6’3 so it looks like a Y is what I need
Great vid. No kids here 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks mate!
If Tesla makes a van or wagon I will get one
Bro so if u want a sedan get a model 3 if u want a bigger for kids and a hatchback get a model y.

You’re a genius
If I had three kids I definitely would have gone Y. The driving experience is significantly better in the new M3 imo
Thanks for the comparison vid! Looks like I'm leaning towards the model Y
lol the kid is a good measuring unit.
put kids in front of a camera and a car to play with and they are the happiest.. :D.. nice video btw.. i am torn between the 2 as well.. but with the rebate applicable on MY and not on M3 there is not much to think of.. MY comes out as the winner..
We sell Tesla sensors in our factory。
What if you have 1 toddler?( No more) 3 or Y
So… what’s the cubic kids difference between the 3 and the Y? 😁
Model 3 should just be the model 2. The 25k car
Well, the good news is that 2 year old Model 3 values have plummeted 50%. You should be able to get a used Model 3 for $25K. People are defaulting on their loans.
Wait a minute, you look like the guy from Flytpath.
You found me
Using your children as free labor. My Asian parents would be proud too. 😂
flexing ur kid XD
Bruh, hellofa comparison!
haha ,model y is better
Buy Tesla stock
