Even bigger tip: Put the back windows down when packing in too, give much more space to work in. I do it when I load our Model 3 up for tip runs and makes it a lot easier to get bulky boxes in.
The updated Y, code named Juniper, won’t be ready in 2025 (for some reason) and is more than likely to still be the model 3 on stilts and with a hatchback. That said, I love the look of the new 3 so it stands to reason that I’ll love the look of the new Y.
I think that the smaller blue suitcase fits completely in that space under the trunk (at least I fitted one in my Model 3 and still had some space for the 22kw cable), then you could put the glossy blue one above and the trunk would close. Anyway, nice video. Model 3 has a lot more space than it looks from the outside.
I placed the child seat in the middle position. Safest place in the car from a side impact and the two adults can straddle the child seat with regular legroom.
Hi. I have measured it for you just now and, at its smallest point, the space under the trunk/boot is 30cm (12”) deep, 60cm (24”) wide and 38cm (15”) from front to back, so there’s quite a bit of room to play with. I briefly showed an image of it in the video, too.
Thanks so much - I am really impressed. For the cost, I genuinely think they are a bit of a bargain AND they keep getting better! I woke up to a software update yesterday and the display looks much better, the boot/trunk opens when I just stand near it for about 5/6 seconds without touching anything and a few more enhancements. It just keeps getting better!
My son is 6'2" and he is fine, so you should be ok in terms of height, but their knees will be quite high. Definitely worth them sitting in one before making any decisions.
Excellent! Can’t believe I missed that test! I kind of made up for it in my video about the frunk cooler bag and its potential use as a car bar, I think? 😁
If you take the front wheel off, I think any regular road bike would fit in. Alternatively, roof bars are available (and I’m reviewing over the coming months).
Hi, no matter how much space there is inside, I still can't get either of my bicycles in it, the boot door is just too small, it should've been a hatchback :D
Thanks very much - I appreciate the feedback. I’ve just measured the largest case for you (the expanding two-tone green one shown in the video) and it is 65cm tall, 45cm wide and 31cm deep, including wheels and handles, etc. Hope that helps 👍🏼
Mine is the RWD so I have no subwoofers, sadly, but I do get extra storage space on both sides of the boot where they would live in a higher model. I came from a LR gen 1 into this and the sound was better in the old car, as there were more speakers, but it is nominal.
What about 3 kids in the back seat? 2 with booster seats - perhaps of a particularly slim type and 1 without any booster seat - probably sitting in the middle? Is the middle seat actually useful - or really just a space for the armrest to occupy? :D
I wouldn’t want to sit between two booster seats, I have to admit. To be honest. The only car I’ve owned which I would put a passenger through that experience was my Audi Q7, which had 3 full sized seats.
They’re medium. I’ve measured the largest case for you (the expanding two-tone green one shown in the video) and it is 65cm tall, 45cm wide and 31cm deep, including wheels and handles, etc. Hope that helps 👍🏼

@PaulsViewsReviews How do you do in a roundabout when the steering wheel is upside down? Or when doing a maneuver right before indicating? You gotta straighten out the wheel before indicating. It's so stupid I can't believe it.

@mansnilsson3384 For instance, indicating while negotiating a bend. In some places, especially in Europe, you may encounter tight turns where you need to activate your turn signal while the steering wheel is upside down.
@@norbertmayer7005 Ah, I see what you mean. Thanks for clarifying! It sounds like when I try to use the media buttons on the steering wheel (e.g. go to previous/next song), while doing a tight turn. Model 3 has a short range, then long time at the superchargers. Not practical for a road trip. Camry Hybrid gets 1014 km on a tank of petrol, then 5 minutes to refill the tank. Tesla cannot compare to that! Camry also has better build quality, nicer interior, and a full dashboard. And a Turn Signal Stalk .
Thanks for your comment, but it’s not so transparent. Undeniably, a model 3 won’t get the singular range of a hybrid with a big tank but superchargers aren’t slow and, for safety and wellbeing, you still need to take breaks every couple of hundred miles. The difference is that an EV driver can park up, go to the toilet and buy a sandwich WHILE their car is ‘refuelling’. When you do need fuel, which is undeniably less often, you need to stand by your car while doing it and THEN park up. Your car’s hybrid facility takes up room to accommodate a battery and small motor, costing you boot/trunk space - 70 litres less than a model 3, excluding the under boot storage and frunk. Not as practical for a road trip. As for build quality, I couldn’t argue with you on the earlier Tesla’s, but this new one is a different story. It’s certainly no worse than a mass produced car like a Toyota. Oh, and I know it’s subjective, but I’d choose the minimalist Tesla interior over the slightly cluttered mass of plastic that you find in a Toyota interior.
