With basic dock lines (not mentioning spring lines), there is a bow line, stern line, and breast line. Breast line?! Yeah, it's a short line tied on a cleat or stanchion base near the rail, midship on the vessel. It's great for short-term (while someone goes and gets the trailer) tying-up at the dock. Best of all, when your dockhand pulls on it, it brings the entire boat close to the dock, not just the bow or stern. Many boats don't have port and starboard midship cleats, but it's easy to add them.
Never understood why people think they need to stand on the bow, or jump/leap off the boat when docking it..🙅♀. I always keep my rope on the center cleat...ease up to the dock and tie off. then if you want to throw a few extra lines on...fine
I spent 35 years marketing boats/motors and marine electronics. I’m of the conclusion that 95% of the jokers at Blackpoint have no clue about 1)Docking Procedures 2)How to tie the proper knots at the launch ramp 3)How to launch their boats & 4)How to retrieve their boat. Shame on the marine dealers for not preparing the new owners for boating needs. And the Credit Card Captains are basically nimrods that do not listen, learn or attempt to learn about all of the above. There should be a cop with a breathalyzers at this ramp to protect the other boaters from self indulgent idiots.
I might have a small boat but I can launch it in 5 minutes, and pick it up in just a couple of minutes more, these people are scary on how they do this stuff. There should be a course that they have to take first. But it is entertaining, and to see that common sense is lacking.
In Canada you have to have a pleasure craft operators license to operate a boat. It’s an online course, very thorough, we took it as a family, dad, mom, son and our daughter, all on our own laptops, nee talked about the rules and laws as we did each module, we wanted to make sure our almost adult teenagers understood it all. And you have to pass tests on each module of the course. It’s a great thing to have in place…. But we still have idiots 🤷🏻♀️
@@teresaworobetz5766Yea, in Texas we have a boating course that’s online. I took it with my boys, even though I didn’t have too. It’s required for anyone born after 1993. Not us old guys.
Monday was a full Moon was wondering if the coastal areas were feeling it. On a previous King Tide like a year ago you walked around and had Fred scaring the excitement out of one of the staff guys there.
supreme lord tide with big moon! the ramp is pretty much flatland at that point lol, no slop ploop. a random Hyundai cruises through and all is good...
dude... never seen it that flooded... The thumbnail is going to get a lot of attention... for people wondering its near the ending... you have to 'waittt for ittt'😅
Does Fred mess with that manatee or it stays away when Freds around? That King tide can get Fred right up there chasing the boaters. No problem swimming from dock to dock.
King Tide.....never heard of such a thing! Very cool.
But then I live in CO and the only TIDE action we get is in the clothes washer !
A king tide happens when there is a full or a new moon aligned with the sun and earth and an incoming tide.
We call it a moon tide.
The last guy, trying to power it ,right into the bed of the truck.. lol
Naw, he was just tossing water cuz he could !
That last boat got me on the floor laughing 🤣🤣 why would you do that to your boat 🤣🤣🤣🫣🫣
No reason.........we are guys! We do stuff like that because we can !
That's my boat I did it show he had something to get video of 😂
6:25 WHO'S THE BOWLEGGED COUSIN ALFONSO???!LMFAO 😂
I love this channel. Gives us the good stuff at black point. Some need to understand boating stuff better but all is decent . Cool. Alfred.
Wow,on the west coast, our docks float up and down with the tide.

Believe it's time for an engine rebuild on the Yamaha.
supreme lord tide with big moon! the ramp is pretty much flatland at that point lol, no slop ploop. a random Hyundai cruises through and all is good...
I'm hungry classic!🤣
I keep my lines in a plastic box out of the way on both center cleats...bow and stern lines are kept stored...makes life simple
dude... never seen it that flooded...
The thumbnail is going to get a lot of attention... for people wondering its near the ending... you have to 'waittt for ittt'😅
Thats a high ,high tide Alfred.
Waaait for it
Thought you were going to walk on water to the end of the dock 😅
SHOUT OT TOO LIGHTLY SCENTED TONGS...YIPPY YAHOO.
Grüße aus Good Old Germany Dorsten, ich schaue regelmäßig deinen Kanal. Weiter so Alfred
Oh no not the silent treatment again
Why don't people use a line on the fore and aft cleats when the dock. Always works for me and I launch and load a 19 foot skiff by myself.
Manatee or lady fred? Also, we have FLOATING docks where i launch🤷🏿♂️
Cut that camera glare with a polarized lens for your cameras...Hoya, Tiffen, Cokin...
Alfred only uses Hook optics when he is filming 😎
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Hook Optics I saw with Alfred were sunglasses.
@@keithscudder7136
He has a lens cover that Hook made for his camera. 🎥
They are sunglasses. He was holding Hook Optics sunglasses lens in front of the camera to show how good polarization cuts glare.
it's funny how many folks don't use bumpers- rather risk damaging their boat or injury to themselves🤷♂️🤦♂️

Its been a minute, is FLA sinking?
feel better now (mucha testosterona)
Alfred you need someone body to do play by play when you are on dinner break.
Too many novice boaters don't learn how to practice backing up correctly with their trailer and boat before even considering going around a ramp
I want to see the husky!!!
I’m surprised they aren’t floating docks.
Was something special happening? Why was the water level up so high? It's like 2 ft higher than it usually is
King Tide
