I have exclusively played team battles since smash 4. You went through the range of emotions I feel every time.

4:45 I've never gotten into Elite, but it's always simultaneously scary and exciting to think that someone could potentially combo me into a clip, scary because the world will know how trash I am at the game and I'd recognize my playstyle when I eventually find out it exists, but also kinda exciting because "oh hey, I'm in this person's clip, probably someone I watch, maybe not by name, but by performance alone."
Mostly though fear plays a lot into it, which is why I tend not to play online much anymore lol

10:15 this is the prisoner's dilemma. JC has two options: attack Alpha or attack Michael. If they attack Michael, then Alpha could backstab them. However, if JC attacks Alpha, then Alpha cannot attack them, and JC narrows down the playing field so Alpha and Michael cannot gang upon them. It would be more beneficial for both parties if they ganged up on Michael, who is offstage and more vulnerable, but that leaves the risk of a backstabber taking some percent.
Alpha chose to go for Michael and take the risk of JC backstabbing him. JC promptly took the safe route and backstabbed Alpha.
