Nice video. For what this thing costs new, I can buy a dozen new made in China diesels that are surprisingly good quality. For the past 12 years, I have been using $300 used Mercedes 300D diesels to repower heavy equipment and small boats. After a short learning curve and a little fabrication magic, the Mercedes 300D has proven itself to be a much better choice than what is currently available today. It is no big deal to convert any diesel engine for marine use. We now keep a dozen 300D engines on hand along with tons of spare parts that we obtain at local junkyards at a fraction of the cost of new marine diesel parts. For example, we get injector pumps for $30, instead of $650 for a Kubota or Yanmar injector pump. Needless to say we keep several dozen injector pumps on the shelf. Glow plugs? $2 each instead of $35 each. Crankshaft? $25 instead of $400. Pistons? $10 instead of $180.
