Knock off side looks way better to me..no question. Also, my friends smoked like that too when she first started using it. It doesn't anymore and she uses it almost every day.

Likely the design itself was just copied by a Chinese company, as they tend to do.
You can tell the material type is better though on the Chi.
@@Allaiya. CHi has products manufactured in China but to respond to customer demand, they also have some products now being made in Germany.
@@MoonLightOnWater1 The material used still matters. But it’s possible the same manufacturer just copied the design (without having to pay for any of the actual R&D) and then just uses cheaper materials so they can undersell it.

The wish version curls look a lot more defined , a lot more better and shinnier.
What is crazy is that I have actually watched HAIRSTYLIST who work at salons do reviews of this. They literally held it the wrong way and it clearly states this side towards face and they still did it on the outside. They practically ripped it out of their hair and shoved large pieces. They said it was the worst product ever and they compared a real curler with it with wayyy more effort and care. So ridiculous because you make it look so flawless and beautiful! Thats what I love about your reviews and channel your real and no bs. Also very informative! Definitely wish you could review everything hahaha

My husband got me that knock off from Amazon, he probably paid way more than$30! I won't tell him about wish :)! But I have used it once and my hair NEVER holds a curl. Ever. Well, I did my girls on Thurs morning, and it's now Sunday and they're still there!!!!! It's a wash night tonight, so they'll go, and they weren't down all day except for Thurs, but still! AND my hair was freshly washed from my shower the night before when I did them... So I'm really impressed. Clean hair, lasting curls for days on IMPOSSIBLY straight hair. Umate, it's a yes for me!

My hair is the same way, I currently use curl formers and the curls last for days and days and days, but I don't always have the time for those so currently looking on Amazon for one of these. I won't even lie when I say I'm a reviewer as well, so will be reimbursed but still I have enough junk I don't use.
There is no way I'll use a hot tool from wish, i am not feeling ready for it 😂

@@chlorinelori1064 it actually does, check the hair when she is finished with the knock off and then go back to the time stamp on the video when she finished the first side with the chi, each side as soon as it is done, is of exact same shininess (yes that isn't even a word, but you know what I mean) and has the same curl tightnness-so they are equal in results
My sister has had the knock off version of the Chi spin n curl for months and she uses it everyday and the slight smoking stopped after the first time that she used it and I recently trimmed her hair after doing some highlights and normally she needs at least 2cms trimming off her hair every month otherwise she would have split ends travelling upwards and sometimes I have had to do a small section by section twist of the hair and then gently whilst holding her hair upwards and out just use your pointer finger and thumb and gently from the ends of the hair just run your finger and thumb downwards and all the dead ends and split ends will poke out! Then cut them off, it’s time consuming but wait until you see and feel the difference! It’s massively affective when you see the finished results and curls look healthier and she has the Revlon one step styler that she has a shower and leaves it to air dry around 50% and then she goes in with the revlon and I bought it for her birthday because she says that she loves the look of her hair that has been blodried with a big round brush but she can’t get to her roots to smooth them out because her hair is naturally wavy in some parts and she gets a lot of rough pouffy hairs that she says are a nightmare for her if she tries with a blodryer and big round brush, hence why I bought her the Revlon! She uses that once a week when she washes her hair. As for the knock off chi spin n curl she will do the whole head after she has washed it and then on a daily basis she will like split her bottom section off and then she will re-curl the complete bottom row on 350’f and it does heat up hotter than what you think I tested it with a probe thermometer 🌡 and on 350’f it was running at 410’f and on 410’f it was running at 475’f which is way hotter than your hair would ever need! so for lots of people that are used to curling or styling their hair with flat irons or wands or whatever has heat just be careful and think about the damage that heat will cause to your hair! And ALWAYS use a good heat protectant spray and comb it right through to the ends! So to sum up the knock off chi I would say for $30 it’s well worth the money and hers has been used everyday for touch ups and for the whole head once a week but she is under strict instructions from me (I am a master licensed cosmetologist) so I make her use it on 350’f, she plays her music so that the constant beeping doesn’t stress her out Lol 😂. And I am only needing to trim off 1mm or one fourth of an inch every 6-8 weeks now and her hair has grown so much now because before I was having to cut of 1 inch every 4 weeks and her split ends are practically none existent but I have got her onto Olaplex shampoo and conditioner and the monthly hair rebuilder that she leaves on overnight and then shampoo and condition the next morning. Her hair has never looked or felt better‼️‼️💖💖💖💖💖

Hey girl!!! I know this is from 12 months ago now but can you pleaseeeeee update on how the knockoff wish one ended up being (if you even bothered to use it again)? Also, in your newer comparing curl videos the BESTTTTT THING EVER is how you show us how it looks after an hour, and then after like 5 or 6 hours. That in my opinion is a total game changer on making a decision about which tool to buy. But yeah, any updates on if the knockoff is worth it? Is there another one that’s similar but less expensive than the chi one that also works the same and isn’t from wish?
I could curl my whole head with a straighter before the first curl releases.

Original brands have the best quality and last longer than fake ones. That's why you pay more money. And I'm more into loose curls so Chi still got my vote.
The knockoff makes much nicer curls
This video unlocked a memory from my early teen years that I forgot I had.. I once bought a flat iron from a chinese store here in spain and it was only 8€. I‘ve been using it for a couple of weeks when it literally caught on fire when I plugged it in one day. It made a loud cracking noise and a straight up FLAME came out of where the cables attaches to the iron! I was super lucky that it was still heating up on the sink and wasn‘t near my hair yet 🤦🏼♀️😂
The Fake side LOOKS WAY BETTER and more Shiny
for the arrow buttons, it doesn’t matter what side of the head your on, it switches the way the curls curl so they aren’t all going the same way and so they don’t all look the same

I’m 13, and i love doing hair and makeup. I have the chi curler, and its AMAZING! I love how its so easy to use because i go to a lot of bar and bot mitzvahs and its super easy to use. THe price of this is the price of one blowout and curl. DEFINITELY recommend this product!
I bought the knock-off one since CHI product is not available in my country. You can actually change the beeping time, the shortest is 3 seconds and I always use 5 seconds every morning before I go to work. And you can release the button once the beeping starts.
Please let me know what are the options of time settings?

I'm not sure where you bought your "fake" one. I have one myself and it doesn't smoke or smell when I do my hair. I love it and I get many compliments. I don't mind spending $30 rather than $100+ if it works the same. Please be honest. It's all in the name,right?
