      BTW “The Video Production Project” is not allowing me to sign up. Some weird glitch with the background color of a person's text.

      I literally laughed out loud watching this. I have a stack of old encyclopedia books on my desk that I put my device on during Zoom calls. You're brilliant, I've gotten many tips here that I will use....and I came here from another of your videos. You're fun to watch too....added bonus.

    I wasn't looking for them, but I just came across a few videos by Ms. Fehlinger, and I must say her content is super relevant and practical. But moreso, her delivery is excellent. She is a pro-and an accessable pro at that!

    Thank you for the great tips. They all are very useful, including learning that wonderful demeanor that you have. Very professional, flowing, engaging (must try to learn somehow, in a man's version hopefully in my case.) And you are a beautiful woman, which, of course -kind of helps complete your amazing videos!

    I wish I had seen this instead of figuring it out for myself!
    I initially used a cardboard box to prop up my netbook! Then I got a "collapsable" station to turn my setup into a "standing desk."
    Next I found a circle light -- when my office window didn't work on overcast days.
    Finally I got a wireless keyboard/mouse so I could keep my arms at the right level for typing/scrolling. (Didn't realize for a while why I was getting such horrible shoulder pain.)

    I see an M50 listed in your video kit. I use that camera but also got the M50 MkII. (Your camera provides a much better image than mine. Hmmm) I like the MkII for my video's because it won't shut off every 30 minutes when using HDMI out, and it will autofocus that way too. Great video's. I just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks for providing great content for us beginners.

    Hi Katie- love ur videos. Thank u. I watched the Teleprompter one- I share my screen in the video recording and was wondering how to then read my script while filming. I may need to set up a second laptop to read from..thank u for ur inspiration& professionalism

    • @KatieFehlingerVideo
      @KatieFehlingerVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Many programs allow you to screen share single windows as opposed to your entire screen/desktop. So you could share just what you want people to see and still read your script without anyone being the wiser!

    Great videos. How far should you be from the camera? For Presentations: looking directly at the camera while reading is always tricky I know you have another video on this. I recorded myself doing a presentation using my camera while reading notes on PowerPoint and I find my eyes are going all over the place. I have my laptop and 2 Monitors but still have not found the right setup for notes. Also if one has a standing desk (or even a crate to prop the laptop on), do you advise people stand or sit while doing presentations? I find that it’s even harder to do presentations virtually that it is doing them in person!

    Is there a different camera other than the one on your laptop? You look like you are looking NOT at your laptop but at something higher...
    What about a standing desk, rather than sitting in a chair?

  • @kurtsteinbock5316

    Katie, how do you feel about backdrops? For everyday zoom calls, I have photos, a clock well in the background. So, is dressing up your set a good idea? Or keep it plain and simple?

    • @KatieFehlingerVideo
      @KatieFehlingerVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a fan of minimalism, a blank wall can totally work! But, what you're describing sounds great. I think the key is to make sure your background doesn't distract people's attention from you, and also be mindful that no objects are "growing out of you head" behind you:)

    These tips are so good and timely!!! Thanks to Covid I’m now like so many, making my living through Zoom meetings!! I’m a tall man- so And in face to face meetings height can often offer some positives when it comes to first impressions. NOT WITH ZOOM AS YOU SO CLEARLY POINT OUT. 2 days ago as, I cringe when I think about it, I actually said these exact words, “I’m so sorry that there are times you can’t see my face-I have an incredibly long torso!!! I kind of thought it was funny…. NOPE NOT AT ALL! So thank you so much for your tips! Wonderful and practical!!

    Shooting in a room without natural light or air circulation (like a garage) can easily lead to a rise of room temperature and a degradation of air quality which might be annoying the longer a shooting day becomes. If you want it or not, this leads to a visible fatigue. I guess it depends on the infrastructure how to solve that.

    Displaying slides through the lens using PPT Mirror tool with any IOS/Android device in a teleprompter , isn't it a definitive guide to giving eye contact on Zoom?, you can just use bullet points structure because you have the whole concept in front of camera .
