4-10 months.

I had a customer with a black Silverado who had some transfer scratches from a refrigerator. Since I’ve heard horror stories of gm black paint, I decided to do a modified 5-5-5. With only one person,, 4hours . Just paint enhancement. 7 hours 2 stage polish . C6 APP, then Ceramic coating.
Yes only one person
When you do one section at a time, do you overlap for coverage? and if so, wouldn't that take off some of the ceramic gloss you just applied, or does that not really matter since you're reapplying over that part anyway? would that matter if the polishing pad got some ceramic gloss on it too?
It doesn’t make a big difference
love your videos but in this one no mention of iron out type chemical, just curious why not.....and no alcohol rinse after polish

Man I’m 22 years old but I’m 10x slower than a 57 year old. I have definitely improved a lot in terms of efficiency since I started 4 years ago but I still have a long way to go it seems. Im forever learning and trying to be open minded to new procedures and products that can make my detailing life easier.
We are all always learning!
Not being funny car not really dirty. And two people on the job..
Good candidate for a no hose rinseless wash, not every car is!!
I am ceramic coating with your 5 year shortly. I have waxed my car quite religiously since i bought it two years ago so my plan is to use more of a stripping shampoo for the initial wash. My plan is to completely rinse the car of the shampoo and then decon with your towel and iron remover. If i leave the car wet and then decon using this process am i alright on the lubrication side? Only other question is if i use the water spot remover when would you add that process? I have well water thats filtered so my water is very "pure" but i figure if im doing it once then go all out.
I did buy the 5 year kit, which is a great deal, so i plan on a quick polish with the gold standard. The paint is in good shape but im comfortable polishing so might as well.
Thank you. Apply the DIY Detail Water Spot Remover before polishing.
@@diydetailofficial excellent thanks. Gotta say I am looking forward to it! I've done ceramic coatings but honestly the one I used, which worked well, was such a pain when I bought this car, a 2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport, I just started waxing. Watched your videos, researched your products and I am a believer. I coated my 2020 Audi S5 a few years ago and it's time to redo it so I'm sure I'll be a repeat buyer! Maybe the 8 year for that one.
Waxing isn't dead btw! I paid a lot of money for a very high end wax and I love it. Just going to do my wife's car now.
Wax still definitely has its place
I really love these videos showing how to be more efficient; very nice! But can you please start showing some 50/50 shots or show us a panel using your quick polish method with the damp pad and no rinse soap vs. another half or panel showing your pad and same polish using the traditional / dry polish method? I'd like to see if all of this speed means the correction abilities are greatly reduced or are they about the same or other. Some close ups of the panels would be very helpful to many viewers I'm sure. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Up close is a request we’ve been getting lately and we’ve been working on getting those for you in future videos! Thank you

Does it take 1 hour per person or per two people? Video is 25 min but was also sped up. That's where my confusion takes place. Ty.

Would there be a downside to using a RWS instead of a pre soak to strip and waxes and sealants? I’m thinking of it going into the pad instead of being broken down in the beginning?

on the polishing I don’t have a dedicated pad washer like you do. can i use the the rinseless that I used to wash my car, or should I make a new batch for pad washing?
Should I use the purple wool pad 1st or the waffle pad? I do have some scratches that I would like to try and fix/remover (5,5,5 method) that yvan talks about, or just speed 3 & 3 passes? TIA! 😃
Here’s a good pad cleaning option. th-cam.com/users/shortsfGOQU8JQar8?feature=share
You can spot polish deeper defects with wool if you’d like and then if that finishes well stick to that method or if you like the foam results do the rest of the car with foam. Do a test spot and decide what you like!
the job will take double the time used if it's only one person

2 hours to wash, clay and polish for one person still isn't bad. That should still be at least $150+ per hour.

Great video… I’m a detail newcomer so I have a question for this or any of your rinseless videos… do you use hard water in your buckets or does it work better with softened or treated water?? What about if using a power washer? Is it an issue using hard water?? Thanks again for all that you are doing!!!
Tap water is only an issue if you allow it to dry on the surface.
Thats interesting. You are doing decontamination without any other lubricant, iron-decon and clay/tar remover. Are you using the stronger dilution of rinseless wash to soak your clay towels? I think I might like this method because I don't have a water source in my garage.
Nope it’s 256:1 👍

It would be cool to see a quick side by side comparison at the end of the video after all the work done.

Nice job! I’m curious, why are you using DA than rotary? And why are you using yellow pad than jeweling pad?
The yellow waffle has more cut, so we are getting a nice combination of defect removal (swirl and scratch removal) plus gloss. The rotary jeweling pad doesn’t cut a lot but offers great gloss. If you ever want to figure it out, do a test side by side and see what looks better to you and stick with that for the entire car 👍

Why
@@diydetailofficial you would need 3 guys to wash , decontaminate, , wheels and paint then polish , jewel to do it maybe 3.5h then spend 1.5h using APP and hydro lite or any other coating. 2 towels . We have a drain under it.
What foaming product was used on the wheels and tires? Was it All Clean?
Yes, at 15/1
What's the limit on "dirty" car you can do a rinse less wash?
Rinsless? If you have a hose pretty much anything dirt wise is fine… just spray or foam your solution, rinse, then spray or foam and contact wash. But if you’re talking about the no hose method, that’s where I would say common sense should dictate. If you have doubts about it being safe, use the hose.

Once again, thanks. You are a detailing superstar!
Thanks, detailed has greatly improved over the years.
Hi guys, thanks for the great video. I personally find the removal of polish the most taxing part of the job. It literally wears me out especially on large vehicles. I have a question regarding the use of rinseless wash to remove the polish residue. If i wiped down a panel , rewet the towel in rinesless after each section, wouldnt i be also reintroducing the polish residue back onto the towel when im wiping the next section? It seems I'd be wiping witn a concoction of rinseless and polish residue. Thanks
I promise you, you’re over thinking it:)
@@diydetailofficialso is the rinseless wipedown done to make the prep spray easier and more efficient?
We wiped down with Rinseless Wash and then applied Ceramic Gloss in this case. Normally Rinseless Wash-dampened towel just cuts through the polish residue easier and faster so it's less scratch risk on the paint and easier for your arm and shoulder. After that you would panel prep the vehicle and ceramic coat IF you were coating. In this case, we had a goal of polishing and protecting in 1 hour so we made choices around what to do and not do to get results and meet the time criteria
Yes, it makes the next step more efficient. DIY Detail Rinseless Wash doesn’t leave anything on the surface, and the polish residue stays in the bucket. If you noticed, we don’t go back to the bucket often. The Gold Standard Polishing System barely leaves any residue, and the MF towel is just damp not wet.
@@diydetailofficialthanks for the info. Will give it a go. Got a car to polish and coat during the week. So might stock up on some diy stuff.
9:10 = ME :) I just CRINGE when I see a wash process that doesn't involve a pre-rinse(knock off the big stuff) with hose/pressure washer, then followed by a wash and another rinse - especially on a winter car. Sorry Guys, just not for me.
totally understand. good rule for Rinseless Washing is if you have any doubt it's safe or will scratch, always go for the pre rinse
You guys do a great job, I noted though that you said avoid sunshine. I have a two car garage but no drain. How would you suggest I approach washing a car and detailing that has never been detailed? Should I wash the car outside with a foam rinse of and then move the car inside to use DIY rinse less wash and gloss? I don’t have a rotary polisher? Also how would you approach a leather interior to avoid it getting denim on it and also not ending with a slippy interior? Light coloured leather just hates denim
Mobile detailers are working outside every day, simply work with the understanding that the sun can do. For interior protection use DIY Detail Interior Ceramic Coating
The time checkers will be paying close attention
lol we had to fast forward the polishing step because it would have been too boring (I promise, I tried to leave it all in but was like there's no way this is watchable) but with two people we clocked in at just under an hour in real time. Don’t have one in the shop, unfortunately! They are great though
I didn't see but did you apply the ceramic glass with a rinseless wet fiber towel, right after you polished the hood?
By the way, how long does the ceramic glass last/protect?
Yes, wipe off polish residue with a DIY Detail Rinseless Wash towel, then use DIY Detail Quick Beads or DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid. Durability is 4-6 months.
Quick question, what drying towel do you prefer? The blanket or the waffle weave.
Love the drying blanket but 1) it’s out of stock and 2) it’s heavy and takes forever to dry out once wet. The waffle weave’s beauty is in how lightweight and compact it is plus how much it can dry for its size

Great Video Yvan and Nick. Can you do a rinseless wash on a Semi Truck?

Is that keg sufficient enough to rinse the car off after an iron decon/water spot removal?
It’s sufficient, but not ideal.
I need to learn how, it is ok not to clean everything. Always learning, just need to put it in practice.
It’s honestly a tougher skill ( I think ) to do yvans method well (efficient but thorough and yet not spending a ridiculous amount of time) than the 60 hour paint correction. Both are skill sets, however. You get to author your own journey through detailing business and life :)
