      That weekend went by way too fast. The best part was the livestream. Thanks again for initiating that. As for Rinseless, I learned a lot about the ways in which it can be completed and I will have to see where it "emotionally" fits in with what I do. I get Yvan's point about if you are doing this professionally, but for me, the optics of a full foam and mitt wash still captivate me and even with all my video-making experience, I have yet to find a way to make a sponge look sexy!

    Rick... I do both styles of washes. For my own vehicles, I do a foam wash once or twice a yearand then rinseless the rest if the time. In my detailing venture, I do foam washes and/or rinseless, depending on how dirty the vehicle is when I start.

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am going to do my best to incorporate this method into my process, if and when it makes sense. My beloved SQ5 gets so dirty here, so I always feel like a thick frothy blanket of foam is my best option, but I am going to be more discriminating moving forward and really try to look for those opportunities to incorporate the rinse less method when the situation arises. As a DIY enthusiast (taking care of my two personal vehicles), I either do a “Rinseless” wash, which I use no hose at all for a maintenance wash or a full Foam/Rinse/Foam/Etc wash if the vehicle is really dirty.
    For me, if I’m pulling out the pressure washer and hose, I’m going full Foam!! :)
    Question: With Rinseless and All-Clean pre-treat…is it ok to use the decon towel to help remove bugs from the front of the vehicle???
    Side note: 3 rinses in the “rinse less” method doesn’t seem fair. Personally (and completely my opinion), Rinseless is for zero hose use.
    Thanks for the content Rick!!…a fellow foam lover.

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Lots to unpack there. There are definitely occasions where the foam cannon is coming out. I have recently picked up some foaming and continuous sprayers from Marolex so if and when I decide to do a rinseless, the PW can simply observe. As for using the Decon towel to remove bugs, as long as it was cleaned thoroughly after I don't see why not. In this video, we went one rinse further than necessary since we extended the scope to include a decon along with a water-spot-removal. But, point taken. Yvan makes the point often that rinse "less" washes don't mean no rinsing, just less. It seems everyone has their own take on the process.

    9:12 So is a rinse after a pre treatment absolutely necessary? Some people live in apartments that don’t have access to a hose. Depending on how dirty it is… pretreat, and then wash with the sponge?

    • @elonsus9747
      @elonsus9747 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s definitely not necessary(For rinse-less). Especially if you’re an apartment dweller. Just pre spray and start your contact wash. I use a battery powered Ryobi power washer to get off light dirt and start my contact wash. Sorry, assuming it’s all clean, you definitely want to rinse that off, I may have read your comment wrong.

      Like Yvan mentioned, there's no wrong way and there's no right way. You just want to ensure you are being as careful and methodical as possible. In the TH-cam world, you will get flamed pretty quick if you take anything that looks like a chance, but in real life, do what works for you under the conditions you are dealing with. I won't judge!

    I like to start by using the foam cannon and incredible suds. I foam the whole car and let it dwell for a couple of minutes. I then have a 5-gallon bucket of DIY Rinse-Less Wash V2 that I syphon with the pressure washer to rinse all the suds away. Now my car is gritless and rinse-less coated. I can use the sponge to contact wash the car, while drying each section at a time once I finish the contact. That is my hybrid wash method.

      @@RADGarage Thank you! Your more than welcome to do a video on this method if so inclined. I actually use rinse-less for all stages, meaning I spread the foam from the foam cannon using water from my 5-gallon bucket of rinse-less. Then I rinse the suds with the same 5-gallon bucket. If I really want to use spotless water with this method, I don't have a DI system, instead I go to my local grocery store with my 5-gallon buck and fill it using the reverse osmosis drinking water dispenser machine for 000-005 TDS water, the water from my tap at home is really good at 050 TDS. The pressure washer I use is a RYOBI 40v 1500 PSI. I wanted a pressure washer that I could take anywhere, but it had to run on batteries, so no generator needed, and it had to syphon water from a bucket, no tank or hose needed.

    I Hate Waist! The multi-use MF Towels is my preference, because any left over "Clean" solution will be used next time. With 1 gallon of mix, you can get multiple washes out of the solution. Since your dipping the dirty sponge back into solution, it is only good for 1 wash, in my opinion. For me, "It's All About the Bang for the Buck".
