    There's no mechanical benefit, but a Huge barbarian with Giant Instinct can wield a Gargantuan weapon. Including improvised weapons!

    Barbarian: "I prefer to let the trees do the talking."

      Yeah! I was thinking this was probably the justification for Giant's and Titan's Stature. I'm assuming the larger weapons do more damage and that's probably why it's in there. I have really looked into the weapons themselves yet

      There is one mechanical benefit I've noticed which is that as huge you can grapple a gargantuan creature without the need for additional feats
      As you can grapple a creature one size larger than you
      Sure a medium sized creature with Titan Wrestler and Legendary Athletics can already do that, but as a giant barbarian with just the size increases you can attempt to grapple gargantuan creatures

      @@decimusdrake5791 At this point, I basically only make characters to have my players fight them. It's more fun than, say, a horde of goblins, because the goblins are meant to lose and we all know it, but (without breaking the rules or being biased) I actually want my characters to win, so it turns into a real fight and neither me nor the players know who's gonna win.

    I like Vengeful Strike for multiple reasons. The first one is ofc style, You dare to hit me? Okay guess what I am more pissed now then before and hit you back in response.Second: the mechanic. I mean what ever the enemy does in his turn you can do something: Oh you run away? Okay I hit you (Attack of oppurtunity), you cast a spell? Okay I hit you. You hit me? Fine I hit you too. Regardless of what you do the Barbarian hits you, I find that hilarious

    2:30-3:31 I personally don't mind the +2 damage on Come And Get Me mostly because you gain Raging Resistance at level 9 so if you play it smart you use Come And Get Me mostly with enemies you have resistance to based on you're instinct. also it good for both melee and ranged because it doens't state a specific weapon attack on you or the enemy just that it need to hit plus 4 Temporary Hit Points (8 on a crit) is a nice bonus.

    • @radred609
      @radred609 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's particularly useful to finish off enemies that you know are already weakened.
      One action to challenge them, then two strikes at +6 (plus whatever other bonuses you get) means that you're pretty damn likely to hit them (and significantly more likely to *crit* them than usual) and, if you can get critical specialsations then that +6 becomes even better for securing those critical success effects to knock enemies prone or shove them around the battlefield. This parially mitigates your flat footedness, since they're going to have to use actions to stand up or move up to you... and obviously if you kill them then you don't suffer from the consequences of being flat footed against them.
      I can already envision one my player's barbarian wading through a sea of kobolds, gaining temporary Hit points with every swing x'D

And do you think that furious bully works with the atletics check for awesome blow, and does brutal bully work with awesome blow? I find these questions are being overlooked by paizo and there are good arguments to be made for both sides of the discussion.

    For Disarming Assault, in general I noticed that if the action economy is too good to be true, MAP applies as normal. The benefit is either more actions for more attacks at no MAP or less actions for more attacks at standard MAP.

    So, Titan's Stature+Giant's Lunge+Whirlwind Strike. You can attack all creatures within 20 feet of you with no attack penalty. That's insane.
    Also, Collateral Thrash says a Basic Reflex Save, meaning the second target can crit fail for double Thrash damage, which is nice.

      @@Nonat1s Also, think about what a +3 Major Striking Greataxe will do. It's a Sweep weapon, so all attacks after the first would have a +1. Also, the Crit Effect of an Axe would be insane in this scenario, especially if you're surrounded.
      4d12+6+18+STR Mod to all targets, double on a crit, and anyone next to a critted target also takes dice roll in damage.

    A barbarian with great cleave would synergise quite well with an AoE damaging spellcaster.

  • @Spartan544
    @Spartan544 ปีที่แล้ว

    Increasing size is huge in TTRPGS giving them a boost in damage is too much. They can crowd hallways so that none can pass, they can lift move massive objects with increased carrying capacity, and they also grow taller so that cliffs mean nothing to them. Lots of bonuses so Paizo was probably trying to balance it.

    Cleave is actually better than Swipe because you can use Cleave WITH Swipe. Granted, Whirlwind Attack overshadows that ability once you get it, but hey, a Swipe and Great Cleave build for crazy crowd control (and hopefully getting feats that give you extra reactions for certain things) sounds like a ton a fun. Kinda sad that there's no feat to gain a second reaction for any barbarian/rage trait reactions. Oh well.

    I don't mind 'critical only' feats as much in pf2, because isn't it easier to crit than in 5e? Something like '5-10 points higher than the ac DC? Maybe not an every hit kind of thing, but still not uncommon.

    So, I’m the previous video you commented about how Moment Of Clarity wouldn’t be that useful, however in this one you stated lots of feats that have both the rage and concentrate traits to be great and stuff.
    I think you missed that they require you to use Moment of Clarity in order to sucessfuly apply their effects(?)
    Edit: Nvm I just realized that having both the rage and concentrate traits means that the Barbarian can use that concentrate action while raging. So yeah, that feat is kinda underwhelming

    Re. come and get me, it seems like something that'll be much more useful to use against weaker enemies, especially if you think you're going to able to kill them with your second or third action.
    In adition, if you can get access to critical specialisations (or make use of the various ways a barbarian has to shove/trip enemies) the bonus to hit makes it easier to guarantee that they're going to be spending actions standing up or striding before they can actually strike you... As usual, bonuses to hit in pathfinder tend to be worth more than you expect.
    Re. furious vengence, it feels like they forgot the second half of the feat. Would have been so much cooler if a successful strike against them reduced their critical hit to a hit.
    That said, level 16 doesn't have many interesting feat options. Looks like a good level to pick up an archetype feat instead :/
    That said, barbarians are amazing classes with a ton of amazing options.
    Kepp the vids coming!

    The anathemas would be better if they only applied while raging because then they'd represent how the barbarian is actually angry and not thinking rationally. If you combined that with making fury and superstitious actually good mechanically than that'd work really well. I also think it'd be better if punishment was just temporary and it'd automatically reset after like a day or something.
