    My 2007 has 170K miles and I've put 140K of those miles on. I don't know about the first 30K, but the question is: Replace Transmission fluid? Overdue? Don't Worry? I'm in trouble? TIA. Great channel!!!😁

      LOLOL!!! Yes, absolutely change the fluid if you haven't yet. Thank you for watching!!

    What type grease did you use thank you so much?

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carlos! Sorry so late on this, ha. There are different greases specified for diff places in the FSM. Generally speaking, I use Amsoil synthetic heavy duty extreme pressure moly fortified grease NLGI #2 on everything. See your factory service manual for your year, etc. for exact type you should be using. Hope that helps!

    Finally pulled the trigger on one last year. Got my 2011 TTSE FJ Cruiser at 110k. About to do the 120k recommended preventative maintenance checks and services. Already did fluids, plugs, cleaned throttle/intake, brakes. Warning: got P0022 code because I let a shop instal internal oil filter wrong and oil wasn’t bypassing. Love this vehicle. Thanks for your video

    Thank yo for sharing! Really nice vehicle. I am on the market to buy one. I was just curious since they are more on the high end expensive side, are the parts more expensive to replace verses something more common like a Ford ranger, a Tacoma, etc? I was curious because they are expensive and less available.

      I’ve actually been able to find parts for the fj to pretty reasonable! Sometimes I go to the dealer site but most times I can find them for way cheaper on aftermarket sites. Good luck in your search!! I absolutely love mine and don’t regret the purchase at all!

    Arb makes a better diff vent system for around $70 bucks. Also raises the vent hose higher up so you can go through water higher then that diff. It’s definitely a good upgrade and easy

    It’s really best if you have 5 tires to rotate all of them in. Just like a Jeep as well. Regardless rubber on tires do wear even just sitting as a spare. So run them all through.

    30 ft/ lbs on the drain bolt? I was afraid I was going to strip it out. So I went to 20 ft/lbs. did I do the right thing??

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its generally best to follow OEM recommendations, as you get the best seal on the crush washer at 30ft/lbs. The last thing you want is a drain plug vibrating out. I'd go ahead and just torque it to spec, you won't strip it. ;)

    Pcv valve should be checked and changed every thirty to 60k. 12 dollar part.

    • @williamward7801
      @williamward7801 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are the symptoms related to a bad pcv valve? Rough idling, lack of power, engine oil leaks, engine burning oil, and illumination of the check engine light are all possible if the PCV valve has clogged.

    Question~ so I replaced spark plugs on my 07 FJ. On the driverside, while loosening the engine vertical bracket I broke the bottom bolt which has been extremelt rought to get it out.. so ultimately is this bracket a must on the eninge or can I just leave it out? Help and much THANKS!!!!!

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That bracket is prob there to reduce vibration in the attached parts. I would opt to reattach it but it is probably not a 100% critical. Thanks for watching!! I hate it when bolts break :(

      @@RDGarage Yeah it's really stuck and even the bolt extractor broke.. patiently trying to get it out with rust penetrant and etc. Thank you!!!

    Transmission maintenance would have been nice. Mine seems to be making fluid. I drain it, fill it until fluid comes out the overflow hole and a couple days later more fluid comes out the overflow hole when checked again. Go figure......

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah.. that ones hard to say. I haven’t experienced that before.

    Coincedence: Every time I look at an FJ Cruiser site, I get Ford Bronco commercials. Isn't that weird?

      @RDGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol that is weird! They’re trying to get you to go to the dark side, don’t listen to them 😝😂

    When my original Panasonic battery gave up after ten years in my '09 4Runner (same 1GR V6 as this FJ), I discovered the best place to buy a replacement battery -- the Toyota dealer. Competitively priced, heavy as f**k, fits perfectly and has Toyota's seal of approval.

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know! I usually go to Interstate for my batteries but I’ll price out the dealer next time! Thanks for watching!
