I bought the Logitech Crayon for me and my daughter. They work fine with our iPads. I love the flat design of the crayon and the orange accents on the pencil is aesthetically pleasing to me. As you specified, unless someone is an artist, the Logitech Crayon will get the job done.
I have used the crayon and i do recommend it for taking notes and making some sketches its not as good as the apple pencil but on a tighter budget its a great pencil and its also great to use and share in a school environment

The Logitech Crayon probably still works without Bluetooth because there is a pen digitizer in the screen. The Bluetooth just enhances performance with things like writing angles, I believe.

Hmm, well the Crayon supports any software on the App Store that has official Apple Pencil support (I'd check in the compatibility section of each app). If your students are submitting digital files, like a PDF, you can write directly on it using the Markup tool built in to the iPad previewer

Apple Pencil is better because of pressure sensitivity. If your get the Apple Pencil from the student website on apple is $89 and the crayon I think is $69 so I think the Apple Pencil is worth the extra 20 ngl

The palm rejection feature is a characteristic of iPadOS itself. I would recommend either the Apple Pencil or the Logitech Crayon to take full advantage of this. Traditional rubber styluses are just treated as finger taps and are not compatible with iPadOS palm rejection

The Crayon and Apple Pencil both use the same tech inside in order to communicate with the iPad. Developers have to specifically design their apps to support it. iPadOS 14 will support writing text into text fields. You will need to program the text field specifically as a text field and test to see if it works with the Pencil. Drawing fields I think are not supported

Surely not all capabilities like Apple pen. For instance, you can double tap the Apple pencil to change the tool or switch between current tool and previous one. Also I guess the logitech crayon does not provide that good a feedback as pressure gradient of the apple pencil does. Cheers!

Unfortunately, iMacs do not support any sort of pen or stylus that writes directly on the display. Although, if you have an iPad that is supported on SideCar, you can potentially use an Apple Pencil to draw on the iPad, essentially emulating a mouse...though I don't think Zoom supports this, but it works on Photoshop so I can't see why it wouldn't

Yeah, the Apple Pencil is the better option when it comes to drawing on the iPad, I also recommend buying a matte screen protector if you don’t have a lot of experience with drawing on glossy surfaces.

Definitely. You can do all the things an Apple Pencil can, like drawing, scribbling, etc. as long as the apps you are using support it. Though I will say the Apple Pencil is a more natural feeling tool because it is pressure-sensitive

My Apple pencil 1 does not roll off the table. It seems it was constructed with an internal asymmetry to prevent rolling. Good feature.
