My Sensei taught us if someone has the audacity to think they can attack you, take advantage of you, rob you, ect. then their life is forfeit. She did say there's nothing wrong with running away either.
I remember taking my friend’s gatorade bottle, just messing with him. My friend was (still is) out of shape, but he punched me and *accidentally* hit my solar plexus…. Had to sit down after that ngl
This is probably why the first kick we learn is the kin geri. I think it's kinda cool that the most beginner friendly kick can possibly be the most fatal lol
Any tips for school fight defence like run away or stay and fight cuz I almost got in a fight a week ago at school but his mate stopped him from fighting me I was ready for it but idk if I should of stayed or ran away like a amature
Start with a basic stance (my stance is somewhere between Karate and muay Tai's basic left side stance), then start with basic strikes (Jab, Reverse, Uppercut, Hook, Front kick, Side kick, Roundhouse kick, Back kick) and work on those until you can do them near-perfectly without thinking too much. For the kicks you'd have to develop a good sense of balance, which will always help a lot. With a good grasp on basic moves, you can then expand to concepts and fancy spinning kicks. Just make sure you have incredibly good balance before attempting those kicks though. One more thing, even if you aren't learning throws or grappling, breakfalls are incredibly important for anybody to learn, even if it's painful and scary to try it at first.
[Just my personal opinion] If you don´t have any experience in MA, I´d recommend to start with something like Taekwondo, Karate or Kung Fu. They might not be considerered as efficient in a street fight as some other MA like Muay Thai (I personally disagree with this), but nonetheless they give you a good basis for further MA. Furthermore, they will show you the true spirit of MA: MA are not just about knocking your opponent out, they require control, mental focus and balance (of body and mind). It´s more about philosophy and spirituality than you might initially think. Then you can add something like kickboxing to train your arms in particular and ultimately some floor-elements (i.e. Jiu Jitsu and Grappling). Hope I could help :)
The best way is to think of things you can't physically train for like nose, feet, fingers, groin, eyes, throat, solar plexus (the point where your ribs connect at the bottom of your sternum), etc.
I once got kicked in the balls in a street fight against 2 guys. I was beating the F out of one when the other kicked me full force in the jewels. Big mistake for them. I went into a rage and they ran. I was wearing ankle weights and couldn't catch them. LOL
the problem with groin attack is that you are vulnerable when attacking there, if you are on the street fight you want to have as little damage as possible and the possibility of a counter (even if the groin strike will end the fight) is to big to just ignore. That's why I think that just attacking a throat, a face or a Solar Plexus is a better idea, especially that untrained people don't know how to protect those places, while everyone knows how to protect your balls.
After I saw a fight at my school my friend hit the groin then I said “HES NOT GOING TO HAVE BABIES”then everyone started laughing 😂 the man was on the ground crying😂
I would personally pick a knee over the groin. While groin strikes can work, you’re relying solely on pain compliance to stop the attacker, whereas the other weak points offer an additional disadvantage. Throat prevents breathing, eyes and nose blind temporarily, and knees immobilize. The fact that they all hurt like hell is an added bonus, but not the crux of the technique’s success. Groin strikes are also easier to miss than you might think, and depending on your attacker’s pain tolerance, it might just piss them off. Although, I can’t personally attest to what a groin strike feels like, so I might be totally off on this tbh.
Thank you for being a good martial artist. I know of one who has been training for less than a year but consistently, indirectly, says he will kill someone or something without question, simply because he knows some kung fu. I will say things along the line of, "You don't need to kill, just incapacitate", only to hear "nuh-uh! Because....!" He is almost 17. Any tips from anyone? I'd rather not see him get arrested for not using his brain. (He's not very bright to begin with.) *Edit: I mean, any tips on getting him out of the mindset of "Oh, I can fight, meaning I can kill"
I'd go for the sides of the knees too. A solid kick there would not only hurt, but potentially sweep as well. In MMA, calf kicks have gained a lot of attention as well; as the calves aren't as robust as thighs and way more susceptible to extremely painful bruising.
I gotta say though: Groin, throat and eyes are often looked upon as simple solutions to a hard problem. The groin is not too bad, but the eyes? They are small and you'll probably break a finger or two if you miss them. And the throat? If your attacker has any kind of stance what so ever you're not getting at the throat, period. Don't get me wrong, if you land one of these you're golden for sure. But people tend to see the moves that target these weak points as high percentage moves, and aside from the groin kick they are in fact not.
The shot to the groin that you speak of wouldn’t stop someone from harming you necessarily, it may hurt, but if they’re serious about hurting you they’ll push through. I’ve been kneed, low kicked, all of the amazing things to that area and although it may hurt for the moment, it won’t stop a serious attacker.
hey Nat, i’ve been wanting to comment this for a while now but i’ve just been wondering if you could review the Chinese martial art of ‘Sanda’ or sometimes called ‘Wushu’ thanks 🙏
Not true at all, hitting the knees in any meaningful way is going to be extremely difficult. The person you’re attacking could easily step out of it - if you’re trying to reference what MMA fighters do to reduce an opponents stability, they don’t ever target the knees, always the middle of the thigh on the outside of the leg since there’s a painful spot where your muscles join together. Knees would be a waste of time to go for
Collar bone is effective. You can snap it without using a huge deal of force and theres not really any body type or ampunt of muscle that will protect it.
Funny story my moms old firefighter coach made a comment that if anyone else complained about the florida heat again he was going to throat punch them, then looked at my redheaded mom and said "except you. You i understand"
My choice is always kicking, killing is a crime and a sin, so that's not even an option. I could also punch if pressed no distance left for karate kicks or if no distance left I could land a muay Thai low kick
In my personal opinion, hitting the groin is a very dishonorable move, never do that to him and he never does that to you, that’s personal and additional asf. Like yeah go any other place, any but not there.

You can start with any grappling and striking martial art, find one that you think you can do well in. Might take a while but it's worth it.

Another idea is the knees, if you can hit or kick the side of them it'll topple your opponent fairly quickly.
