Awesome! I wonder how this would work for a car vlog setup while driving. Since it's a directional mic I'm thinking it may help block out since if the background noise from the road. I'm trying to find the best audio solution while driving on the interstate for trip vlogs 😊
Cool idea. I've used my iPhone mounted in my truck as well as a GoPro. Both worked BUT with the face tracking and mics on this thing, it should work really well. Obviously you gotta think about driving so mounted in a place that doesn't obscure your view or you become too aware of it would be best.
✅Great video! Gotta note that according to Osmo tech support this will only work if you've got the extra battery for the Pocket 3--like you've got it assembled in the video. If you only have the base model it is uncapable of powering a powerless mic like the Rode Go II. Maybe a follow-up video to test it? 😌😌🙏🏼🙏🏼 and Thanks for the awesome video!
Hey...I realized I misread your comment. The set-up I'm showing in the video doesn't have the extra battery handle (which comes in the Creator Combo). That's the handle, the short stubby one, that comes with the basic package and also the Creator Combo. So it does work with the base model. Hope that clarifies it. Thanks
Good video. On natural light. I live in the Philippines where the windows hare NO INSULATION. If you open the shades to shoot a video your room because a sweat box greenhouse. Enjoy your insulated glass. You are rare D Jay I pronouncer :-) Which is correct.
Darn my Rode video mic doesn't have usb3 in but, I think the dji Mic2 has 3.5mm input so I can plug it in via that. Interesting and one can also pair other blue tooth mics to the Osmo. My lesson for today is to see if I can use the Mic 2 with the Mino App at the same time.......
great video. Have you tried pluging a LV mic directly into the pocket 3? The audio sound bad . But if you have the setting " built in mic audio backup" turned on it makes a seperate wav file which sounds fine. Now people might say yes its because the wav file is from what the internal mics here. But I though if it recognizes a LV mic ( pro mode changes to gain slider etc and you loose the ability to change channels ( all/ front etc ) I did try the Rode VideoMic NTG usbc into the pocket 3 and the sound was good. so not sure if it's just a cheap LAv etc lol thx
Think you can. All depends on the type connection. I've got a Zoom H5 that I rarely use only cause I'm a fan of cutting down the process. Try it and let me know if you get it to work.
Can you use 2-channel stereo microphones with it? I do nature videos and I don't want to use my heavy mirrorless cage to hike down trails in the forest. Only reason I'm asking is I thought I heard someone say you cant use a 2 channel microphone with it. not sure.
@@KevinKolbe I thought about this, but Wireless mic purpose is to cut off surrounding environment as much as possible to focus on Vloger voice. This would defeat the purpose of using it for concert recording. I could bump the Gain, but I don't want any sound from me get caught in video.
Check out the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for yourself (affiliate link): amzn.to/48XLXCo
thank you for this video. short and sweet, straight to the point
This is so helpful, thank you!! About to buy the Pocket 3, I've seen SO many rave reviews about it
I'm so glad! Hands down it's one of my best gear purchases so far. Let me know what you think after you get one.
You came in clutch again thanks for advice much appreciated it
No problem 👍
Hi Kevin! Your made my day with this video, thanks!!!
Nice to hear.

Thanx for this now I have more things to buy for my pocket 3. Just got the creator combo today and it's amazing.
I know right?! Still one of my best gear buys ever. Enjoy yours too!
hi, can we use any third party wireless mic with osmo 3 ? because dji mic is very expensive for me ?
if yes please recommend me a wireless mic, thanks in advance
You can also hook up external shotgun mics to the mic 2 that comes with it
Ah, very cool tip. Thanks!
Awesome!! Thanks for this 👍
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Wonderful presentation
Thank you!

Interesting. Definitely something I'll check into. Thanks for the tips and watching too.

@@KevinKolbe Nice! Thanks for the update. That changes the game for me!

I am curious if you can use the external plugged in mic (like you have the Rode) AND the DJI mic 2 Bluetooth.
Haven't tried it but I think you can. I know you can use two DJI mic 2's at the same time.

VERY COOL! WONDER IF YOU CAN USE A ZOOM H6 WITH A rode Rode NTG 2?

You can. Here's another one I have and also recommend. A lot less and sounds great: amzn.to/3BAOV41
What about connecting the rode mic2 to the dji mic 2 transmitter?
Haven't tried it.
How did you set up the audio on your Pocket 3? We're curious!
It picks up the mic you've got connected. You can adjust volume and other things in settings.
Can you use 2-channel stereo microphones with it? I do nature videos and I don't want to use my heavy mirrorless cage to hike down trails in the forest. Only reason I'm asking is I thought I heard someone say you cant use a 2 channel microphone with it. not sure.

I love it but then how would you use a extension batt also?
The creator combo kit comes with a bigger battery handle which lasts a good while.
I'd like to see you hook up stereo mic to DJI Pocket-3
Interesting. I edit in mono so not sure what I'd see.
@@KevinKolbe I don't blog, but I like to record vacation trips with pocket 3 now. So I need Stereo, especially if to record show.
Ahhhh. Got it. If you got the DJI Mic 2 with it, you should be able to go into the settings and change it to stereo.
@@KevinKolbe I thought about this, but Wireless mic purpose is to cut off surrounding environment as much as possible to focus on Vloger voice. This would defeat the purpose of using it for concert recording. I could bump the Gain, but I don't want any sound from me get caught in video.
@SergSpace I think you can plug an external mic with 1/8" plug into the wireless mic 2.
Is there a way to record stereo audio using a stereo microphone with a 3.5mm plug?
Think so. Should be in settings. Having said that, I mix my audio in dual mono so it's always the same.
@KevinKolbe Hmm, the camera is set for stereo but I'm only getting a mono signal. Using a TRS to TRRS adapter, and 3.5mm to USB.
Hi Friend, can you pls make a video on creating good HD quality thumbnails for TH-cam videos.
Appreciate the idea. I'll add it to my list, at least show my process. Thanks for the tip.
Would this set up help with my preaching videos. The room we use has poor acoustics and there is an eccoing that is distracting on the video.
The camera would work but I'd go with a wireless mic connected to you. Get is as close to your mouth as possible to cut down on some of the echoness.
@@KevinKolbe thanks that seems to be the conventional wisdom from the people I’ve checked with.
yes virginia ? who or where
Just having fun
