    Jebus, that just a few humms away from a Crash Test Dummies track. I jest of course; thanks for another exceedingly useful video.

      80’s Canuck reference - gave me some warm fuzzies remembering this band from my home town.

    This is so helpful - exactly what I was looking for to start playing around. Gratitude, thanks Cat 🙏

    Seems like a simple version of OBS and I'm going to give it a try. Thanks

      It is more a scripted talking track with pngs approach as well as Ecamm/obs integration where you work with cards and each card can trigger an Ecamm /obsscene. Give it a try and if you work with the video pencil ipad app you can draw o. The iPad to highlight what you are presenting. I feel it really powerful for this usecase

    Your comments about zoom resolution are key. I'm not sure, but it seems like the zoom screen share goes at a higher res than the cameras. So, even with OBS, I'd use zoom's Share Portion of Screen and select OBS's preview window. But that requires a bunch of extra monitor real estate, which I don't always have. Maybe the Share: Content from 2nd Camera shares at the Screen Share resolution? How are you doing it? Also, seems like you always have to be "sharing" something, otherwise your camera doesn't have priority in the zoom. Just replacing your camera image doesn't cut it unless you own the call (which I frequently don't). Good stuff!

      I do see in mmhmm's website that they have a concept of a Broadcast window which you can then share with the Share Screen:Window on zoom. That solves a lot of problems. Especially if that window doesn't need to be fully visible (to save screen real estate). I need to look to see if OBS has something similar.

      @@DethpickleDave the problem with this approach is sometimes the sound gets out of sync with the broadcast image. Better to go into the deep zoom settings and select HD for all participants.

      @@BobKummerfeld thanks for suggestion on HD for all participants - was reluctant because of strain on bandwidth (for others, not me) without knowing participants' tech & wifi capacities - any comments?

      @@erminialombardi3534 I was also concerned, but after teaching a class with ~1500 in a zoom webinar without any complaints I think it's ok. I've kept the HD setting ever since and had many meetings, smaller classes etc but still no complaint.

    Could you use Steam Deck or Loupe Deck to call up your "slides"?

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can control going forward and backwards through your slides, but from what I can tell, you can't jump to specific slides with hotkeys.

      @@CatMulvihill Thanks. I currently use OBS to make my "scenes" and Stream Deck to select my scenes. This works fine but OBS has a steep learning curve. Also, it is a nightmare if something goes wrong within OBS.
      I was looking for a hardware replacement for OBS and that could work in conjunction with Stream Deck. I guess I will wait for a bit longer.
      Many thanks 🙏
