Thanks for showcasing this new Zoom alternative Cat. It's shaping up to be a great one. It's definitely not ready for our use case yet but if they keep working on it as they have I can see our team moving to it. My biggest wishlist item would be the option to have simultaneous live interpretation. For 85% of our sessions we use interpreters that use their own audio channel to provide simultaneous interpretation for those that need it or wish to use it. Almost no other Zoom alternative offers this and it's baffling. That reason alone keeps us tied to the Zoom ecosystem which is definitely falling behind in terms of features that everyone else is implementing.
You definitely have a use case that's specific and I'm guessing not common enough to get a team of developers prioritizing it. But given the global nature of virtual meetings, it's an important feature for those who need it!
Thank you for that Video, Cat🙏 I've been using sessions for two weeks and so far I'm absolutely thrilled. The image quality in particular is unparalleled. I signed up for the Life Time Deal at Appsumo two weeks ago. What I still want from sessions as an Online-Trainer are separate breakout rooms. I hope that's still to come.
Hey Cat! Have now viewed this vid 3 times and Sessions keeps looking better each time. Since the first viewing I’ve also spent hours going through their own set of tutorials and they are both extensive and very clear - not as crystal clear as your video here - but, hey, you set a very high standard! 👍🏻 I’m now torn between level 3 and 5 for a lifetime purchase. Truly, at the heavy discounted price, and if purchased through the Appsumo Pro plan it’s downright embarrassingly low. I’m trying to get my head around whether opting for the level 5 plan is necessary for its Zapier potential as well as unlimited sessions. Btw… do you have an Affiliate link set up for Sessions yet? Would love to use it if you do. Thanks again for another ‘crystal clear persuasion’ video. 😃
Sorry for not seeing this before the lifetime deal ended. I chose the Level 3 since it has webhooks. What did you decide? And right now I don't have an affiliate link, but maybe in the future!
@@CatMulvihill Hi Cat - no worries. Did some due diligence after the first couple of viewings of your video and came to the conclusion that this was an investment for the future. Their string of updates and fixes was impressive, as was their Road Map, which seems to address some for the issues you spoke of as well as some I had. So, me being me, and thinking that while initially Sessions might be a complimentary product to zoom for me, I can see it taking over most of the duties I had anticipated having to use Zoom for - so I dove in at Tier 5. I’m hoping the barely adequate hispeed (50/10) I get here will improve someday. In the meantime I’m really hoping Sessions will perform well enough to allow my online coaching sessions, webinars and course follow up appointments to be effective. My challenge will be to co-ordinate Ecamm Live, my teleprompter, two camera setup, and RCP with Sessions. I’ve tinkered with the AIPilot for an agenda and this puppy really is kinda impressive! Really hoping for both a full screen image and also a pop-out window to slide into the teleprompter. Will be giving Sessions a better test in about a week with some Aussie friends we’ll be travelling with in a few years, and intend to include: video, keynote, websites, whiteboard, notes, and transcript in the process. Not too ambitious, eh! 😃
Hey Cat New Sub here 😂🎉 happy to have found you! 1) How does it look on the recording when using the agenda? 2) What are you recording this video with it looks amazing ? ❤
Thanks Cat, it looks like a pretty neat idea and, for many, an alternative to Zoom. However, I run more than 20 sessions per month and, for my needs, this looks expensive when compared to Zoom. It has some nice ideas, but I also run sophisticated training sessions and I get the impression that Zoom is more flexible for me. Nice idea and I hope that it grows and develops to become a serious competitor to Zoom. 🎉
A virtual camera lets you combine your camera feed with graphics, then you choose it as your camera source in Zoom, Sessions, Teams, etc. You can use software like OBS, Ecamm Live, or mmhmm to set up your graphics, then when you are in a meeting, instead of selecting your regular camera, you choose the software. I have a few videos about using the virtual camera, but it would help to start with this more recent one: th-cam.com/video/0yXF_ruplhw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the video ! I'm wondering if Sessions has a Original sound for musicians like Zoom. This is a very thing for me (I'm an online cello teacher😊). Thank you!
Yes, it is compatible with Ecamm. I chose not to show my virtual camera since it would have shown the demo inside the demo inside the demo. For meetings, Ecamm works (as long as you aren't showing the Sessions meeting inside Ecamm-then you get the loop).
@@CatMulvihill so if I have this right, I can flip through my ecamm profile with scenes and overlays and it will show within my “window” in Sessions? Have you tried recording a Sessions session? Any comments on the quality? The lifetime offers on Sessions seem reasonable, even up to level 5! Like you, I’m wondering how soon a full screen view will be available in Sessions… especially useful when doing a demo using an ecamm scene requiring full screen viewing.
When I tested it out on the live call, it was quite clear-at least that's what my guest said! I did notice the recording was not quite where I would want it to be. I could read everything, but it felt like there was a faint shadow of the previous graphic when I transitioned between scenes.

Thanks for sharing your experience with it so far! I'm also excited to see what they do as they continue to build it out.
What did you think about the audio quality compared to zoom or google? It sounds low quality for me. Seeing if I might have a bug
Ohhh I see how the recording looks wow
Great find! Thanks, Cat!
You are so welcome!

It's definitely important to pick the software that suits you best!

I bought it and the audio quality is unusable so far for me. It sounds like the sample rate is chopped in half.
Thank you!
Cat, is this compatible with ecamm?
There was reference to an infinite loop with ecamm… would like to use multiple cameras and ecamm scenes… is this a combo that won’t work in Sessions?
Yes, it is compatible with Ecamm. I chose not to show my virtual camera since it would have shown the demo inside the demo inside the demo.

Does Sessions solve the problem with blurry text when sharing PowerPoint or Keynote slides that’s still present with Zoom?
(When sharing the slides through eCamm Live)

How many appsumo codes did you get?
I chose the Tier 3 lifetime access deal, primarily because of the size and webhooks.
@@CatMulvihill Webhooks was what caught my attention on this option. Do you have plans on how you'll use them?
@@CatMulvihillI just upgraded to Tier 3 today - for the webhooks. I'm very hopeful about this software.
The resolution is so low….how can anyone use this I.n 2024? At least give us 720p.
Nah Zoom is still way better than this but appreciate you sharing
