Great video. Not only did you show us how to rebuild it, you showed us that it’s not a bunch of plastic junk inside like so many other compressors. Thinking about building one of these into my off-road project for airing up and down tires. Some guys use them (with a tank) for locking differentials.
Wise decision, there isnt anything worse than being on the trail and need air to air up a tire. It better to have it and not need it than to need ir and not have it
Very helpful. Mine just went out yesterday. But i already ordered 2 because i got it for a good price. I am definitely going to rebuild the bad one using your video. Thanks.

❤❤ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. good job I have 6 of those air compressors 4 of them are in the toolbox of my pick up truck just for my airhorns. I will be buying those kids to rebuild the 4 air compressors that I use for my air horns I’ve noticed that they’ve gotten kind of slow on the air pressure buildup. I’ve had the pressure gauge all the way up to 250 psi to test for leaks, but I run the system all the way up to 170 psi but I do have a Boost button that will run it up as high as I want it as long as I hold the button in. After blowing my airhorns, I wanted rapid recovery on the air pressure so I have two switches, one activate. 2 air compressors, and the second switch. Activates. 2 more air compressors. Trust me the airhorns wake up the dead if they are not staying in their own lane, going down the freeway because they are texting on the phone. I don’t want circus clowns to hit my truck so I have the wake up call button that I can push on my dash and wake them up. ❤❤❤❤
When you install the connecting rod, is there a stop so you don't put it on to far or little. Remember that's determined where the piston rides in the cylinder. Just saying. What kind of oil did you lube the cylinder with... silicone oil?
Ok ok Might be the motor itself Hook the compressor directly to a 12volt source That will ley let you know That bypasses relays, fuses and pressure switch
So ill do that once i get the new one. Take out old and test it. But yeah complete rebuild kit with power supply is about 150$ which is still worth repairing and not buying a new.
I just rebuilt another one, I didnt use any oil on this one Just wiped the cylinder head clean with a lint free paper towel and brake parts cleaner. Be careful when sliding the piston into the head. Let me know if you have any other questions
How would we know if thats the only part on the compressor that fails? I ask because when i look at part kits there are different types at different prices.

Hey brother! So quick question on the head, last night I snapped both of my heads due to overtorqueing the fitting on it.. whats your recommendation? Hand tighten & 1 rotation? Thank you!
I would only go 1/4 to 1/2 turn passed hand tight. There is a gasket that will do the sealing. Anything more than that, you can strip the bolts or break something
@@Slicpartna perfect! I do not plan to strip the head again, just wanted to double take before doing the process again. I appreciate your help brother!
Do you think it would be wise to put Blue Lock Tight on the bolt threads. So it don't come apart from the vibrations that these units are known for. As you stated these are made of Aluminum and can't handle high torque on the bolts...Just a thought...time will tell.
if your compressor couldn't understand when to stop compressing air, wouldn't you focus on the digital air prssure sensor? having trouble with mine atm.
The compressor didn't build pressure in the tank, since it didn't build pressure it wouldn't satisfy the pressure switch to turn the compressor off Let me know if you have any other questions
@@Slicpartna send email ? My fronts aren’t receiving enough pressure. Solenoid makes clicking noises but after tank builds up 150psi the tears are able to have air pumped into the struts. The difference between my rears is it takes within 20psi for it to accept air into the struts. It sounds like my front struts system are failing
