@@gianni.sacciloto Here's something to give you more perspective on the DNA of actual souls games. Souls are a third person, real-time evolution of King's Field. King's Field is a first person, real-time evolution of Wizardry. Wizardry is a first person, turn based adaptation of tabletop RPGs. Tabletop RPGs at this time period were focused on adventure and looting, exploring massive sprawling dungeons with many traps and dangerous foes. Tabletop RPGs during this time period were infamous for these dungeons. Tomb of Annihilation is the most infamous example. Read up on what Tomb of Annihilation is. Does it not sound like a Souls dungeon? If Fromsoft were to straight up port this dungeon to Dark Souls I, it would feel just at home. To give even more credence to the true soul of Souls games, watch the video that explains how Miyazaki directs his Souls games. Spoiler: there's a massive focus on the level's design. Not the looks, even though that's stellar anyway. It's focused on the gameplay, AKA the dungeon crawling.
My souls games experience is so backwards from everyone elses. Demon's Souls was probably the hardest games in the franchise to me. Maybe i just choked under the pressure of knowing that failing would send me back to the start of the level, or maybe I just played the areas in the wrong order. For whaetver reason, Demon's Souls was really difficult for me, but I feel the opposite as everyone else does about the bosses too. It has some of my favorite in the series. As someone who grew up on zelda, gank bosses have always had a special place in my heart, and Demon's Souls is fulled with them. As for the easiest souls game to me, it is surprisingly Sekiro. The combat clicked with me almost instantly, and I only had a few bumps in the road as far as difficulty in that game
To me this remake has the best graphics of any video game i ever played, i have both PS,Xbox and PC and i think Demon Souls is the most beautiful 4k game i have seen, people might hate on this game but if they have a 4k TV and played this game they know they like it themselves
I think the order that you play the games in will have a huge impact on your impression of them. If you got into the series post-Dark Souls 3 for example you have the luxury of playing the games in whatever order you want or skipping out on games entirely. For me Demon's Souls is my favorite of all of them. I also bought the game vert close to launch on a recommendation. It was absolutely my favorite game on the PS3 without question. The remake for PS5 is fantastic too. Personally I like a lot of the sort of antiquated designs of the first game. I kind of like the inventory management and all that. Obviously it's not to the modern gamer's tastes. I like the tons of different crafting materials, the quirks with the world tendency, etc. In my opinion the series will be most enjoyed if you play them in order. Starting with Demon's Souls, then Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, etc. You really get a sense of how the games have changed and depending on your perspective improved over time. If you start with the latest and greatest that has all of the refinements that came off the back of the previous entries in the series you can definitely find things to criticize with the older titles depending on what you're looking for. One thing that I find these days is that the game is way too easy but I've also been playing the series for closing in on 15 years at this point. When it was new it was something different and challenging.
I had never played demons souls simply because it was an exclusive (which honestly is really stupid of sony to do) I figured theyd release the remake on PC, but they did it AGAIN. So i used RSPC3 for the OG, and i wasnt at all dissapointed. The rest i played in order, this was the only one it took so long for me to play lol
Interestingly, Demon's Souls is the second highest rated Soulsborne game (behind Elden Ring and tied with Bloodborne). It's harder to appreciate when you play it last in the series, but it also set the standard for every other game that came after.
Honestly I think I appreciated demon souls more after playing elden ring. Just returning from a bunch of crazy ass bosses and enemies to more normal ones was refreshing.
Demon's Souls has a very special place in my heart. The first Souls game, and the first I played back on the PS3. I played it so much, and when the remake came out I enjoyed the absolute hell out of it. It looks so fucking good, the sound design is immaculate and it's just so great.
I genuinely like Demon's Souls more than Dark Souls. I love how you can do the areas in whatever order and, if you know where to go, be able to get some really useful stuff early on that make the other worlds easier. Some boss runbacks can suck (looking at you, Adjudicator/Old Hero), but despite essentially being a prototype for what was to come, they got so much more right than they got wrong. I feel like Demon's Souls bosses being easy was a design decision as it's generally the levels that are the hard part, and having bosses be too hard with no bonfire system would just make the experience too frustrating. The struck a good balance IMO.
Well done. I guess it's time for Lies of P. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. For a dev team with no experience developing Souls, they rectify some of the issues that have existed in FromSoft games for more than a decade.

I didn’t play it until the remake either, but I loved Demons Souls. Though, I value the levels more than bosses in From games, which doesn’t seem normal given how much everyone loves DS3.
Its actually my favorite. The most special of them all. The reason why some people hate it, is because they missed it when it first came out. Literally went very unnoticed.
My biggest gripe with Demon Souls is the areas being separate areas you have to warp to from the hub. In a way I was kinda upset when you do similar at the start of DS3 Otherwise, it’s a great way to see how the ideas that made dark souls so good started out.
Agree with your ranking too and yea this game leaves a lot to be desired but I'm also glad the remake kept the quirkiness and roughness of the og while just making the graphics insane. Which yea it truly is not only the best looking souls but I'd say probably top 5 best looking games of all time atm. I can't tell you how much I was at a loss of words playing it on my 4k oled... Sekiro,bb,er,ds1,ds3=des,bs2 But I find ds2 to be really fun for killing enemies and leveling up. I actually really like ds2 for so many reason it has and only ds2
For weapon upgrades, I think Fromsoft made it easier for Ds3 and Elden Ring to appeal to wider audience. DeS and DS1 have that kind of complexity because that was what other RPGs did back then.

Played the original with some buddies years back and it got everyone into Souls as a whole, loved it. I really like the remake as well, thy sound design is spectacular. Still looks extremely impressive to me also.
Valley of defilement is easily the best swamp area they ever did, and the only one that's actually any good, because it invokes honest despair in the player and truly makes you feel lost. Especially on Ps3 where the draw distance isn't as good and all you see beyond a couple of feet are the distant lights. Took me some years amd many playthroughs to appreciate it, but ones I saw the beauty underneath the ugly it arguably became my favourite area in the series ... no I take that back, it's the area I appreciate the most and it's just sad they never managed to get it right like that again.
I bought a PS3 for this game when it first came out. Playing it again on PS5 and loving every minute. One of the best in the series that started the genre.
Demon souls PS5 was my first souls game. Literally two years ago Feb 21st 2022. And it's my favorite. Even while playing the dark souls trilogy I took time out just to play demon souls. It has a feel I can't describe. As far as the easiest souls game? I've seen elden ring players play this game and complain about it being difficult(levels and ng+ really).
Same. I’ve enjoyed all the souls games especially DS3, but due to the level select design in DeS I love to pick this up and play it recurrently. The haptics are great too
Visually/artistically sure, but the game itself is the same game with a few quality of life changes Going back and playing the original after playing the other Fromsoft games/remake isn't going to change anyones mind on it
It's funny when you said your build was horrendous because i saw the making of a battle mage easily, 16 faith for second chance 20 magic for Firestorm and you could use LW or CW with your intelligence buffed a bit
My first play through took probably 80 hours. I had such a blast because it was my first souls game but I struggled with the mechanics and controls for a loooooong time. The Ps3 version ran at like 20 FPS also which was brutal. I remember getting stuck because my world tendency shifted to full black for the level 4-1. It spawned a Black phantom Satsuki at the very begining. I had to fight him by the archstone because of the risk of alerting the skeleton. Satsuki one shots you every time. One hit KO guaranteed if you get hit. The thing had like 1000 HP and my sword dealt 10 damage. It took me so many hours and probably hundreds of deaths to kill him. In fact I had to cheese him a little by using a poison rapier and always having a shield up to block until the poison chips it health down.
Demon's Souls is excellent. Anyone that tells you differently is just plain wrong. It has its issues (mostly in terms of boss fights) but genuinely it has a much better story than Dark Souls does and aesthetics wise (even the original) surpasses Dark Souls as well imo (Dark Souls 1 everything just looked "wet") Add to that the custom finisher animations for every single weapon, the interesting healing system (idk why people have such a problem with having consumable health options, I hate being limited so I constantly have to run back to a bonfire, let me enjoy the game at my own pace) The remake for Demon's Souls is also excellent, a good way to experience the game. Personally I prefer the aesthetics of the original (mostly in terms of atmosphere) but I can't deny that this game is genuinely one of the few games that truly looks and feels "next gen" (still to this day for some reason).
Thank you I love this game the armor and weapons all look cool as hell. I thing elden ring was the weakest and the most boring out of the souls games. Demons souls is still my favorite.
Genuinely prefer 75% of the level design in this to Dark Souls. Love the lack of checkpoints. Honestly, for me personally I prefer hard levels and easier bosses too so this is one of my favourites in the series
Only souls game I've played where I gave up and didn't even care. Having to farm grass because no Estus (unless your a faith build), lackluster bosses, borderline schizophrenic weapon upgrading, never was invaded despite being level 80, and essentially no explanation for literally anything I was doing (which isn't saying a lot for a souls game admittedly, and just sadistic level design made me shelf this game before 30 hours. And i don't feel bad one bit about it.
Doing my playthrough right now. Really great game, gives you like 6 souls for a kill while doing about 15 damage to stuff. No checkpoints and constant rooms full of mobs. Does a great job of making you feel super weak all the time. D+
You played the old monk boss offline . Its fun when you are online as the boss is a random player who is summoned and can be really hard and unpredictable
This is the most fun vs frustration I had in a Souls like game (yes, finished 'em all). I love to explore these worlds, and getting stuck on a boss for 4h is not fun for me, it gets boring and mechanical. Yes, it's the easiest of em all, yes most bosses are gimmiky. And yes, that is alright.
Demon's Souls was Blueprint made for the Souls games we liked today. It was their first project and especially with exclusive to PS3. I still respect it 💯
Demon souls is severely slept on, doesn’t help that no one knew about it when it first released on PS3. The reason no one talks about it is because no one knows about it, and it is HANDS DOWN the best looking PS5 exclusive. Elden Ring brought in even the most casual of players to the genre, in my opinion Elden Ring is the easiest due to how easily you can access help. Demon souls is a beautiful hidden treasure, so glad they remade it, wish they did the same for bloodborne.

It's really easy until ng+ tbh
demons souls can be the easiest souls game or the hardest souls game, thanks to world tendency
@@lloydirving6209The stages yes. But overall its the easiest soul game.
@@issi529 nah elden ring is the easiest
Same. I’ve enjoyed all the souls games especially DS3, but due to the level select design in DeS I love to pick this up and play it recurrently. The haptics are great too
Cappatron I've been wanting to start a TH-cam channel and I wanted to ask, how do you edit your videos?
The remake DOES NOT do this amazing game justice. This was the game that made me excited to buy a ps5, but it wasn't the same game AT ALL!
Visually/artistically sure, but the game itself is the same game with a few quality of life changes
Going back and playing the original after playing the other Fromsoft games/remake isn't going to change anyones mind on it
Lies of P is fire.
You need the Sticky White Stuff for the armored spider. Does a lot more damage
You have to do a ng+ run in this game. The ng+ is the real difficulty 😭
It's funny when you said your build was horrendous because i saw the making of a battle mage easily, 16 faith for second chance 20 magic for Firestorm and you could use LW or CW with your intelligence buffed a bit
Haven't watched but I already know this is gonna be a fire video
Same.
Demon's Souls is life
Did someone say lies of p?
It’s calling my name
What is the theme at the start
Demon's Souls is excellent. Anyone that tells you differently is just plain wrong. It has its issues (mostly in terms of boss fights) but genuinely it has a much better story than Dark Souls does and aesthetics wise (even the original) surpasses Dark Souls as well imo (Dark Souls 1 everything just looked "wet")
Add to that the custom finisher animations for every single weapon, the interesting healing system (idk why people have such a problem with having consumable health options, I hate being limited so I constantly have to run back to a bonfire, let me enjoy the game at my own pace)
The remake for Demon's Souls is also excellent, a good way to experience the game.
This game is legit on ps5. One of my favs on ps5
And i don't feel bad one bit about it.
you should try hell divers 2!!
Def gotta try code vein
Perfect timing
I’m early as hell, also you should play lies of p it’s similar to ds3
6:28 that’s my boy veltstad
Those half life sounds at the beginning of this video really tripped me out 😂
Doing my playthrough right now. Really great game, gives you like 6 souls for a kill while doing about 15 damage to stuff. No checkpoints and constant rooms full of mobs. Does a great job of making you feel super weak all the time. D+
You say “I had more people tell me to play lies of p” as if lies of p is a bad game. That’s one of my favorite souls-likes ever
Demon Souls is like the original Wolfenstein: Revolutionary for the time, but doesn't hold up compared to what preceded it
Hey Mr.CappaTron I’ll be waiting for your return.
God damm, you're amazing! glad I found your channel
Thats the remake, the ps3 one is the one of fromsoftware it is better than the remake in some aspects.
Am I hearing it wrong or was your intro music from the Black Ops 3 Zombies map 'Shadows of Evil'? Either way, epic
So how bout that dlc trailer?
Never experienced happiness until I saw that trailer
You played the old monk boss offline . Its fun when you are online as the boss is a random player who is summoned and can be really hard and unpredictable
Bro didn't event acknowledge the existence of flamelurker 🤣
How can a pick axe one hit the spider boss,im confused,i just got demons souls yesterday.
Ooh I’ve been thinking about getting this game. Time to see if it’s worth it or not😤
It's not replay one of the older ones lol
I'd say give it a shot. I enjoyed it. Definitely the weakest out of the souls, but its still worth playing. Also graphics are amazing.
@@jayden8027 yea I’ve played all the other souls except sekiro so I think it’s time
You made me laugh the shit out of me man good job 😂
I see he's getting the other side of the coin. Cause this game is the hardest Souls experience I've ever had.
Missed you
Love how the video makes the game seems like it takes a couple hours lol
My favourite TH-camr bar none
This is the most fun vs frustration I had in a Souls like game (yes, finished 'em all).
I love to explore these worlds, and getting stuck on a boss for 4h is not fun for me, it gets boring and mechanical.
Yes, it's the easiest of em all, yes most bosses are gimmiky. And yes, that is alright.
Demon's Souls was Blueprint made for the Souls games we liked today. It was their first project and especially with exclusive to PS3. I still respect it 💯
I wont have that DS2 SLANDER 😤
Demon souls is severely slept on, doesn’t help that no one knew about it when it first released on PS3.
The reason no one talks about it is because no one knows about it, and it is HANDS DOWN the best looking PS5 exclusive.
Elden Ring brought in even the most casual of players to the genre, in my opinion Elden Ring is the easiest due to how easily you can access help.
Demon souls is a beautiful hidden treasure, so glad they remade it, wish they did the same for bloodborne.
