Elden ring has literally worse bosses in every way, it’s pretty well established.
The difference is consistency. Dark souls 3’s bosses are very consistently good, good music, good lore, and good mechanics.
I disagree with Elden ring being casual souls, because that game can be hard too- but the difference is the quality takes a huge dip. There’s very, very few actual unique bosses with their own personality. Astel is reused, magma wyrm is reused, ancestor spirit is reused, Morgott is reused (multiple times, one time too many) and overall just lacks any personality. Most of the bosses are either reskins like the millions of dragons, or literally normal enemies with health bars. It’s quantity over quality, which is to be expected tbf, but as a result DS3 bosses just have far more time and care put into them.
It sucks to say since I loved elden ring, but bosses were definitely it’s weak point. Honestly the only real good bosses in that game that stand up to DS3 is Godrick and Godwyn, unfortunately.

Fun fact: Looking at Aldritch's design, you can tell which gods he's devoured. His boss theme is even a mix of the two bosses' themes.
    Maybe spoiler alert?
    He devoured Nito and Gwyndolin.

    • @adjustedbrass7551

We killed nito. Its likely hes just a reincarnation of the soul of death, like the rotten before him.

    • @souls_gsatyr
      @souls_gsatyr ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Actually...nope.
He only devoured Gwyndolin, 'cause Nito is dead.
And Souls reincarnation isn't really a thing 'cause that concept and all of the "reincarnation and cycles" thing is just DS2 being DS2.
Gwyndolin is still alive because in the story it makes sense he's still alive.
If DS3 exists, Gwyndolin cannot be dead, 'cause we enter in the sequels' canon only if we sacrifice to the Flame in DS1.
The chosen undead never finds out about Gwyndolin and the illusion, so he blindly sacrifices himself to the Flame.
If he finds out, instead, he canonically kills Gwyndolin and becomes the Dark Lord but there will be no sequel, in the story.
I understand this comment pops out of nowhere but I swear, these things acquire much more sense with the original descriptions and dialogues mistranslated from japanese.
I can tell more, too, if someone is interested, just in case

    • @daith_izumi

      @souls_gsatyr ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@jamesmccloud1002 Ok, i'll try.
And it will be complicated, english isn't my first language.
      So...
When you speak to Solaire in DS1 he says that time is convoluted.
In japanese subtitles, the word "convoluted" is replaced with a kanji.
This kanji means "stagnant" and "sediment" (or "silt", however you call It).
So, time is stagnant. What it means?
In DS1 there's a Golden Spell of Oolacile (I can't Remember which, right now) and its japanese description states that "the light IS time."
The First Flame, the light, symbolizes time in this universe.
But the Dark doesn't symbolize the "absence" of time.
Just imagine the timeline of Dark Souls as a straight line.
Time flows normally because the First Flame is at its peak, but when the flames begin to fade, the straight line of time collapses, likes debris driven by water in the bottom of a sediment.
This "filth" is accumulated in this sediment and stagnation is created.
This "filth" is the time collapsed in the sediment, and it's created when the Dark approaches, when all the flames fade.
This concept, this metaphor, is a LAW in this narrative world, and it comes From shintoism, where spiritual filth and immobility are seen as absolute negative concepts.
When time is stagnant, we can communicate (white and red signs) with other people in other fragments of the timeline (which is ONE and only ONE, no parallel universes or alternative timelines).
Manus uses stagnant time to open a portal and find us.
The First Flame never reignites itself, our choice is important.
If we become Dark Lord in DS1, the Dark Souls saga ends there.
If we sacrifice to the Flame, the timeline goes on, but the Dark has no occasions to really come out, 'cause the First Flame is still there, linked again and again.
The more you link it, the more it loses power.
That's why stagnation in DS2 and 3 is outside Lordran and that's why in DS3 not only time is stagnant, but space, too.
And this space collapses on itself, of course, the endgame is the demonstration of that.
      Oh, and more hints.
-This explains the "Abyss Sea", which is not the Dark or the Abyss, but a Deep Sea where filth collapses in, where things (like the water) don't flow anymore, house of monstrosities like leeches and centipedes.
Aldrich is like a living stagnation, the souls of people he devours flow into his body and accumulate, like a sediment.
-This philosophy is very loved by Miyazaki, and it's in all of his games in different forms (Scarlet Rot in Elden Ring, the blood in Bloodborne, the concept of corrupted immortality in Sekiro).
-Gwyndolin is the son of Gwyn and Priscilla, and that's why he shares with Aldrich a vision of the scythe of Priscilla. He was thinking about his mother before his death.
      Sources: Lokey Lore's website and
"Anima oscura III" by Sabaku (too bad it's only in italian).
But you can check Lokey's website, of course.
There's so much more, I'm not even sure I explained decently all of this

Great video my man! Dark Souls 3 is a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned, they really perfected the gameplay. A quick tip is to equip a dagger and spam L2 in swamp areas that slow you, it uses the quickstep weapon art and allows you to go full speed.

Fun fact for Aldritch, there is a faith spell that stops any and all spells from being cast for a short period of time and can be used in his boss fight to completely stop him from attacking you

Best strategy is to know that he always pops up on the corner opposite the one your closest to. Just know that, rush him, and beat him into he goes back in the ground over and over.

BY FAR Fromsoft's best game imo. Elden Ring doesn't hold a candle to it. Especially in terms of level design, music, and of course the bosses. I actually think this game's bosses will never be matched.
