I tricked most of your with Day 12, but I hope you love our little snake! While this pattern is based on the Australian Bandy-Bandy (occasionally known as a "Hoopsnake") with the fact I've made mine rainbow striped I also want to acknowledge that it could be seen as an interpretation of the "Rainbow Serpent", which is part of the Indigenous Australian creation stories. Entries for the giveaway are going to close 12noon WST on 16th December, and winners will be contacts shortly afterwards.
Bandy-Bandy is the best snake name ever. I saw it on the list of Aussie snakes when I was guessing (wrongly) about the 240 species clue and was like "omg, I hope we make that one!" but I did not know they make hoops like that! Now I love them even more.
Hi there, I really love your snake. I’m a beginner and came up til round 20, but don’t know how to continue. For row 21 it says sc3tog, dec. this gives me 2 stitches. How do I continue? And should there be 11 stitches at the end of the row?
@@petraadam8511 Hi! I think it's just the formatting that's caught you. R21 is: sc2tog, dec, change colour, then carry on with the rest of the row, which is 4[inc], dec. So all together, that's 11 stitches, it's just there's a colour change in the middle of the row. :)
This was such a wonderfully fun collection of patterns. Every creature turned out so cute! I've been excited every morning to see what the newest one would be. Thanks so much for taking the time to share these with us!
This has been a very fun 12 days and all of your patterns are so cute. You’ve also made me realise I can crochet faster than I thought or maybe I just always only work on big patterns. Thank you for all the patterns and I really hope you do another 12 days of crochet next year! Also my mother gave me an idea to make more of these animals into Christmas ornaments so I think I might try that too.
I have had a ton of fun making all the cute Aussie-animals! There is hard to choose a favorite, because they are all so cute, and also fun to make! I do know that I will make more frogs! And maybe a couple echidnas and kangaroos.
I haven't been crocheting along bc I am trying very hard to finish present I was already crocheting, but I am really looking forward to making some of these patterns once I have the time! This series was really cool and cute, and I've really enjoyed seeing it every day! Feel very bad for the little snek though, with the captions misunderstanding "hoop" and calling him a "poop snake" xd
Thank you so very much. I have loved the 12 Days of Christmas. You are amazing. You have an amazing talent and are happy and cheerful all the time. I like that you use yarn that is easily available and your tutorials are clear and the instructions are on screen. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas time and I look forward to your live stream. I can’t pick a favourite I love them all. Thank you ❤❤
Thank you for this series of videos, it was a very nice idea, i was happy to discover a new little creature everyday and make it come alive. You're very talented at making those patterns, i love the fact that your patterns respect the actual body shape of the animal instead of cartoonish versions that are more common, it makes them even cuter. My favorite one was the little frog, i'm in love with it, it's just so so cute, i named mine Billy.
I absolutely love the hoop snake!! He is adorable. I've loved following along in this 12 day journey. I paused in making my Christmas projects to make the wombat, I haven't posted the picture yet, but the rest I will have to wait to make until I'm finished with my under the tree projects 😁. I can't wait!! They are all so cute 😍. You are a joy to listen to and your instructions are so clear. Thank you, thank you!!
OMG it's a DANGER NOODLE!!!! I love him!! So happy I was wrong 😂 I know a lot of weird critters -- bilby, kakapo, quoll, etc but I have never heard of this little dude. Super cool! I've never had a favourite snake before, but now I just might 😍 I loved this series! I'm really gonna miss it.
This whole thing was such a great project. I have not yet had the time to even start one of those fantastic animals- but I know where to find them as soon as I get some time for myself and crocheting again. I know I will crochet multiple bandy-bandy snakes for an animal shelter where a frienf of mine works- they were gifted TONS of sock wool and had no clue what to do with it to sell and get some money out of it- I think the bandy bandy snake could look super cute in sockyarn/stripey yarn. Thank you so much for all of your amazing work and those incredible patterns! Have a very blessed time and stay safe. Love from Germany and happy hooking :) 💚🧶
I used a size 3 yarn so they were smaller and I put 2 of them on a pencil holder I made my daughter it came very cute.thanks for the pattern God bless stay safe
Again, thank you so much for making this series! It was so enjoyable just sitting down every day and making a little something along with you. In case I don't make it to the stream, I want to wish you and everyone down in the comment a merry Christmas!!!
You we're my FAVORITE , and by far, Christmas crochet event of the year!!! I used to watch a fellow Canadian Vlogmus in December, everyday, each year, it had become my little gift tradition( me too my birthday is in December, the 14th! ... Happy Birthday to you!💛💛💛) but this year, every morning at 6 or 7 You we're the first video I watched !!! I didn't get to make them all ( I'm too slow, and I get mix up and sometime I have to redo a section multiples times) but, I manage to do 6, and I 'm proud. I have a little spot for the little ringtail possum..so sweet! Thank you for all those amazing buddies, you are Fantastic!🤩🤩🤩
I've never seen or heard of this snake. How cool is it? I love the nod to our Rainbow Serpent. This has been so much fun. I've stopped watching most of Vlogmas, but I'm very sorry this one is finished. Thank you very much. Your tutorials are really well made, clear and entertaining. Hove an awesome Christmas. I hope you have a fun filled Holiday and that we don't bake in the expected heat.
Finished the snake, what a fun little project 😁 Definitely going to make the Cockatiel and kangaroo to go on her tree, not sure what else I'll have time for. I'll post the ones I finish before the 16th.
Such an adorable little hoop! (Totally keeping this one for myself because snakes and rainbows are some of my favourite things!) A lot of colour change practise here. But since I'm working with my thin rainbow merino mixed in with the colour of the day, my stitches will stay firm even with a bunch of tails running around inside... I hope... Also, someone needs to remind me to stuff as I go along; I forgot on the frilled lizard and it was a pain. xD Thank you for this wonderful event and all the adorable new buddies! The frog is my favourite because it's just so _shaped_ and also mine can blink which makes me happy. But I have a feeling that once I make the little bandy here, she'll take the top spot!
Honestly after the head it won't super matter if you forget to stuff anymore if you have as many colours as I do - those tails really do bulk it out XD
This series has been absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for all your hard work! I’ve really really enjoyed this! All the patterns you made incredibly easy to follow along! Thank you again and Merry Christmas 🤶💖🎄
I didn't quite finish mine, but hopefully tomorrow! I have abt 7 rounds left, this was really fun though!! Edit: Just finished my snake!!! Super cute, and this was such a fun challenge!! It was so fun logging on every day to see what we were making! Now back to presents, haha!
You're sneaky xD but I like what we've done with the snake! Mine's a wee different, because I used my variegated yarn stash for most of my projects, so I chose a pallet for my snake, rather than use the other day colours. It came out super cute
This one is adorable! I’ll be honest I haven’t made any of these but they’re adorable! I think I had a little disadvantage since I don’t live in Australia lol (totally a good excuse) That snake as a hoop is really cool! It would’ve been cool if you could do it in a loop XD. I really love him though!
You are amazing! I can't believe you made so many patterns! (I attempted to do the 13 days of Halloween last year and only managed 11) so I give you so much credit. I was kinda thinking puff adder, but it's not an Australian snake.. so I was completely out of ideas lol.
This was so fun! I have never done a CAL like this before and I am so happy I joined! Just curious, would you ever do a video showing how to make those boxes? They are so great! Also please make more kinds of patterns like these. Tiny and relatively no sew. They were so cute!! My favorite was he possum. It's face just warms my heart! Merry Christmas! and Happy Birthday (soon) LOL
commenting for video creator in hope to help with accessibility - some people needing subtitles or video reader (like me) end up having the subtitles cover the pattern section for some of these patterns - so I could not read row 15 for example and had to guess. I love your patterns and making them, not sure how this can be solved except maybe moving the helpful pattern box up just a bit? changing the screen size doesn't help and voice reader doesn't read the images just the subtitles. Hope this made sense and comes across in helpful way.
SNAKE!!! YAY!!! You had me fooled, though I did see a tiger snake that "grew" as a defensive stance. Seemed too farfetched to me, though... because snakes really _aren't_ round, unless curling into a cinnamon roll counts...! xD
I love this little hoop snake. I'm going to go different, variegated yarn as I have loads of this to use, could it work? I'm making this for my brother as I don't know if he still does, but he did use to keep snakes before he got with his now fiancee. I would love to know how you do your boxes. They do have some in simply crochet but you're are brilliant.
Variegated yarn is going to work up great, and honestly make this project a whole lot faster and easier for you :) I am trying to convince my partner to make a box video with me (or maybe a short?) he designed them up for me :)
Is it ok to make and sell crochet items using your tutorials at things like craft fairs, art walks etc. as long as you're credited for the original pattern?

Is it the bottom part of the screen that's the issue? It didn't occur to me that some of the side panels extend all the way down into that space.
SNAKE!!! YAY!!! You had me fooled, though I did see a tiger snake that "grew" as a defensive stance. Seemed too farfetched to me, though... because snakes really _aren't_ round, unless curling into a cinnamon roll counts...! xD

Hey, just wondering, do you havveee to use stuffing for this?
Too cute 😍
Thanks! :)
Quick question… does 4 ply yarn work?
Is it ok to make and sell crochet items using your tutorials at things like craft fairs, art walks etc. as long as you're credited for the original pattern?
hoop snakes: exist
1:00 subtitles: _how about no._ 😂🤣
Holy carp that's amazing. I *can* fix that...but I don't know if I'm going to 😆
I've been crocheting for a couple years now, and i just started learning amigurumi. Im a quarter of the way done with my snakey boi now, and I've just added some stuffing (6:49). However, after adding the stuffing, I noticed some of my stitches (I think its the DEC sts) are larger than the other stitches and the stuffing is showing through. Is there any tips or tricks to fix this?
I think it's because I wasn't doing an invisible decrease. I have learned my lesson. The next snakey boi will be perfect ❤
Thank you for trying!
I have been working my way through your videos. But I suddenly came down with a fever. My snake is comically small 🤣
i don't know what i'm doing wrong im following the exact stitches but the rows don't meet their starting poinr
Do you have a written pattern for this snake??
Question. I seem to not own any 8 ply yarn. Everyone I've checked is 4 ply. Do I need a smaller hook?
I recommend just going one hook size down from whatever it says on the label!
Note to self: continue at 6:57 later
You've got amazing patterns, but every one that I tried as of now does not show like the ones you make. I went through every same stitches that you explained, nada..... :(

hi. that's ok. crochet is a skill that takes time and practice. I know some things are really boring but starting off with cloths and hats is a good way to practice basic stitches before trying something more complex.
