    Hello all! Serves me right for skipping using my pattern-checker tool, coz we have our first error in ages!
    R15 should read 3[inc], 5sc, 4[dec], 6sc. If you've started the pattern already and gotten past R15 without the correction, it should make little to no difference on your finished snake, so don't worry about frogging.

    I have been crocheting for about 20 years and I always hated the large holes that came from decreasing. Today, you've solved that problem for me! Thank you so much, I've always gone through both loops of both stitches being decreased and it looked so ugly, but now I have your technique and comparing the snakes head to all of my other amigarumi, this looks so neat and professional!

    For every round do you slip stick into the first stitch also I’ve tried most of your patterns and they don’t turn out right like with the pumpkin turtle for the front loops that are on the outside of the peace they are very far away from each other i know their going to fall i little bit diagram, but mine or really diagonal and another example is with the baby snake I’ve tried it three or four times now and the neck also on the side of the head can you help me understand why I can’t get it right i have always wanted to actually do the baby snake and i like how you show the pattern on screen your my favorite crochet artist and I also can’t wait to see a new video every Thursday

    • @ComplicatedKnots
      @ComplicatedKnots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I work in a continuous spiral, so no I don't slipstitch+chain at the end of each round. Because of this, my designs tend to include adjustments for the "drift" that happens when working this way, which might account for the stitch issue you are having.
      The only other thingl I can recommend is counting at the end of each row to check your stitch count!

Your method is exactly like mine.

    If I wanted to lengthen the snake (I'm doing a temperature blanket type situation - except writing process rather than temperature and I'll need closer to 200-300 rows) -- could I just repeat the coils that all have the 22 stitch count and save the final coil/tail for the last bit? Or would that end up being wonky?

    • @ComplicatedKnots
      @ComplicatedKnots  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try working a larger hook through the stitches to open it up a little more. I don't have this issue often, but when I do, I use a 4mm hook and poke it through, then a 5mm, then a 5.5mm, etc until it fits. Silver lining: your tension must be incredible to cause consistent problems!

    Is row 15 correct? It looks to me like there's 1 stitch missing.
    3 + 5 + (2*4) + 5 = 21
    Also since I'm here, if I ever encounter a pattern that has a stitch missing (and can't contact the author), should I: add an sc at the end or just roll with it?

    • @ComplicatedKnots
      @ComplicatedKnots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well spotted! R15 should be 3[inc], 5sc, 4[dec], 6sc. I'll add a pinned comment now.
      As for the other thing, I'll be the first to tell you crochet is VERY forgiving, so if you can't reach the designer, either approach would likely work. I would just keep an eye on any elements that may need to line up later in the piece, make sure it's looking right.
      With my patterns I would default to making them as-written, as I've likely made it at least once with whatever typo/error is there.

      I've looked, and this specific colourway doesn't seem to be available anymore. The brand is 4Seasons Printed Marvel. If you are looking for this kind of "speckled"/confetti type multi-colour yarn though, you can check out a strand of your yarn - if each colour takes 2cm-5cm before changing to the next, you'll get speckles that will pool in different ways (like the stripes on my snake today)

    I love your patterns they’re so cute. Have you ever considered making a lion, peacock, or a kangaroo with an optional joey? Also is there a pattern for your large owl?

      I'll add those three to the list! There is no pattern for the owls, I didn't write them down. I'll possibly recreate the 10hour one at some point to share though.

    Oh! Guess my green blue and purple snake now has pink spots where decreases are! Cute!

      Have you tried doing your decreased using the front loop only? It makes them invisible so the color won’t pop through!

    So far mine looks so bad (stitches are surprisingly clean though) but there's one area where it looks like he ate a rat LOL
