Those where the days a bride came into the church as a respectful young lady ! Not showing her breasts , her legs , or her butt ! A very respectable young lady ready to start a new life with the love of her life ! The wedding gowns weren’t expensive like nowadays, then in a year they’re getting divorced!
Totally agree, respect for those around them and reverence for their place of worship. People hardly use those words these days. Never mind understand and practice them.
Totally agree with you. They were the days we knew how to have a wedding dress and also the bridesmaids, today most of them with tattoos showing, and their wedding dressers are horrible
Love these pictures from the 60’s! My parents stood for a cousin’s wedding in 1964. The bridesmaids had yellow short dresses. They had a fake yellow flower with a little veil on their heads. I thought it was so cool that the bridesmaids had veils too. I would take that headpiece from my mom’s closet and play bride with it.
I got married in 1966 and had a lovely wedding dress . All dresses in those day had long sleeves.and we didn’t show everything, we had a lot of respect for the way,we looked.
Me too. I got married in 1966, and my wedding dress had long sleeves, satins and Chantilly lace with a beautiful train, and married in a catholic church.
I had forgotten how popular veils and gloves were back then. It was really interesting to watch, I just wish they had not repeated so many of the pictures.
My parents got married in 1966, my mom borrowed her friends wedding gown and they had the reception at my grandparents house. Mom said they were saving their money for their house which they bought a year later for $18k.
Gorgeous the time of sophistication and elegance. Not like today where everything is laid bare ,see though and no respect for themselves, the church or priest, pastor or the person being the officiating. Let alone the father's of the bride
My mother married in 1962. She looked beautiful. My grandmother was a seamstress and made the gown s of her three daughters and a niece (raised by her as a daughter). They all looked precious. My wedding gown was also quite “modest”. And beautiful too
What I findthe most silly thing of brides today they have been living with their groom for several years, have a child together , and then do the whole Father give the Bride away. Once you have lived with and had a child you dont need anyone to give you away. Have your wedding celebration but at least walk yourself down the aisle . I just personally think it has become silly
User-Nonsense! A day most families can’t afford. A dress that costs a lot and is rarely if altered- worn again. It’s unreal. Nothing to do with learning about each other. Why would a daughter want to be ‘given away’? It’s mostly about impressing the neighbours and status. It’s the worn out traditions of other cultures. Most brides aren’t virgins any more. That’s how untruthful it all is.
I don't think it's wearing out, try abd get a wedding venue booked. However watching a young woman wafting down the aisle in a backless, sleeveless, dress cut down to there does make you wonder.
Married in 1969. My mother made my wedding dress from a Vogue pattern. It was simple yet elegant with an empire waist and Chantilly lace sleeves. My hair was in a short mod style with a short veil. I definitely looked like a 60's era bride
I love princess length wedding gowns and enjoyed seeing the few shown here. I'm a new subscriber and look forward to seeing more videos featuring wedding gowns of different eras.
My aunt had the most beautiful short lace wedding dress in 1960’s she looked beautiful and looked like a star. Lots of photos of my Mum in a rainbow array of wonderful bridesmaids dresses, her own dress was made by my Dad’s aunts who were court dressmakers it cost £6.
My parents were married in 1969. They eloped to Nevada. My mom wore the suit she had worn for her first husband’s funeral!! Our family always teased her and dad about that.
So true! I was at a classy restaurant in town I live in last weekend. It was prom night. The boys packed together, not with their dates. The girls in skimpy dresses and white platform sneakers. It was all I could do to not roll my eyes.
Um just an FYI. Back during this time it was traditionally the responsibility of the brides side to buy the ALL the bridal party dresses. Add the cost of these dresses tells you just how much money where putting into a wedding.
Some of the dresses from the 60's had strong influence from the 50's. Those are the ones that are timeless. The rest during that decade make me cringe.
I got married in 1978. My dress had a scoop neckline, long sleeves with cutouts in them, a train with a long veil. Looked mostly like what you see here except for the neckline. I am totally disgusted by the brides that show off all (they call it “sexy”, I call it trampy , then it lasts a year ( or less). Mine has lasted 46 years.
I was a 1970 s Bride along white straight dress w ith guipory lace top long slight bell shape sleeves a long white train I still have my dress out of. the train I made our first daughter christening gown l still have this I looked beautiful in my dress
Yo me case. Con un vestido . De invierno. 1992. Elegante. Muy hermoso.modelo. princesa. Con una cola larga. . ❤❤❤❤
Love those gowns! Both the bouffant and sheath styles. So very elegant.
Love the 60's style, very fashionable and respectable.
Yes like my grang mom bridal gown, so classic and awesome, mostly pure lace and veil, 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
The dresses are all so beautiful and sophisticated 🥰 back when women were ladies 🥰

Lots of old ladies here!😂 how many of you were pregnant under those big ugly dresses! Ahhh yes its what you don’t tell. Getting to the alter quick!😂😂😂

@@kat35lulu88 no unfortunately .
Has someone who used to work in a Bridal shop ,most of those dresses you could wear today .Much more classy than the strapless ones .
Married June 1964. Had a beautiful lace dress. My bridesmsids dress were so pretty. Memories.❤

Really beautiful dresses 👗❤❤ 👗
These dresses are beautiful. A bride should look lovely, not cheap as many do now.
Women knew how to dress in those days. They had respect for themselves, their husband and the church.

Why even have a wedding? It's a mockery. The issue is MOOT
I have seen couples walk down the aisle together.
All the people in these shots look 1,000 more classy and stylish than people do today
I loved the wedding dress that Grace Kelly wore in the movie "High Society" just beautiful..

Lovely to see beautiful but all so modest bridal gowns.
Married in 1963. Did the fitted gown, brocade bridesmaids dresses. Pale turquoise and pale peach.
I remember some 60s brides wore elegant brocade suits with fur collar and a tiny matching fur hat. Very elegant.
The bridesmaids headgear was typical of that time. Same on my mums wedding photos in 1961.
Married in 1969. My mother made my wedding dress from a Vogue pattern. It was simple yet elegant with an empire waist and Chantilly lace sleeves. My hair was in a short mod style with a short veil. I definitely looked like a 60's era bride
Felicitări pentru videoclip.
Our society has lost the sanctity of marriage. So sad.

Loved this. Some beautiful dresses. (I wish brides wouldn't wear glasses)
Wtf is wrong with you
Some of us are practically blind without our glasses and going without is not a choice.

Contemporary looking bridal dresses
These dresses were before my tume but theyre beautiful. Girls getting married today should look for such beatiful and dignified dresses.
This generation - doesn't have a clue !!!!!
No, they don't unfortunately for them, Social engineering has deliberately turned us Westerners into oversexed consumers only. Mobile phone paupers.

They wouldn’t be caught dead in a wedding dress that’s not showing lot of skin.

My mother made herself a white silk wedding gown with an empire waist for $12 in 1967.
Most of them clean classy looks, tea length or long.
