This video came up and I just had to watch it all the way through, that same day Easter Saturday 28th March 1970 my beloved son was born, I lost him to cancer 8th January 2020. The video of the happy couple held a strange fascination for me as I became a first time mum that day how I Wish I could turn the clock back.
Hello Jeanne, Thanks for your comment. The heartbreak of losing a child is hardest thing come to terms with. We lost our son John in 2008 at the age of 37. He lived in London a long way from home. Irene has been heartbroken ever since. Alas now she is reunited with him. God bless you.
@ticktocktwang Hello Richard I knew there was a reason why the video of your happy day moved me to watch and comment. Firstly I am so sorry about Irene, also your son John, I understand as a mother who also lost her son her heartbreak, as a very spiritual person I honestly believe Irene and John are together again, as I will one day be with my Neil, in the meantime I do my best to live life to the full as I know he would want. Please take care and keep them in your heart. Blessings to you.
Lovely to have a private film of the wedding at that time. It must have been unusual at that time. This reminds me of my parent's wedding photos from 1966. Guests and bridesmaids wore similar outfits. They were married in Widnes.
Apparently the couples who got married at that time, their marriages lasted - my Mum and Dad got married in 1965, and did 41 years, before my Dad’s death. In those times couples had their wedding celebration at the Town Hall and other modest venues, and there were weddings guests/presents and a spread with sandwiches and scones, those weddings were much more modest than the thousands people lay out today. I would rather have held mine in the Town Hall or a pub, if I had ever been able to get married!! (Sadly, not). Commendable when marriages last this long. Congratulations!!
Hi ! I am writing to you from Grand Angle Productions, a production company based in France who is presently producing a documentary on the nullity of the marriage. The film will be aired on KTO, the French Catholic channel. It will aim at informing about is the nullity of a marriage. For this documentary I’m looking for old wedding footages. So, I am contacting you to ask for permission to use it. If you cannot grant it, would you kindly let me know who I should contact to grant such an authorization?
So very sorry you lost your beloved wife and son.youre heart must have been truly broken.losing your boy would have been the worst thing to have happened to you both.sending blessings 🌷🌷🌷

My mum and dad married this day too ❤
Congratulations Richard. lovely video. Must have taken quite a few reels of the old 8mm to get all that footage.
I was born that year in June, so less than three months after this event! Therefore this is as old as me.
