Today I bring to you a side by side comparison of a new 2022 WRX Premium 6MT vs my 2021 STI.
This is just a size comparison from the outside. It seems like a lot of people are confused about the size of this vehicle so I hope this helps!

Every single time Subaru redesigns we all have this conversation about how ugly they look. When we see this thing shredding the competition in the dirt ONCE AGAIN, everyone will come around. WRX's always have looked strange, but they perform so well in what they are designed to do that the strong majority of us all eventually end up loving them.

I think the ‘22 WRX in black looks pretty sharp, particularly the front end. The C pillar is a little too Carolla for me, but in general the color that hides the cladding makes a big difference. Thanks for the side-by-side.

Thanks for the side by side comparison. I think the black hides the cladding nicely. I didn't think the 22 look horrendous like a lot of ppl say. But body colored cladding definitely makes the car look nice!!

The 21 looks better, I had a ‘16 CWP with lots of mods. The rear of the ‘22 looks like an accord. The center stack in the ‘22 is ugly as hell too. People driving sports cars don’t care about huge touch screens as much, to distracting.

That magnetite gray looks black in certain angles and it’s definitely more aerodynamic.
definitely more aero looking and apparently that texture on the on the plastic helps too

Kind of agree... I think it's the a combination of the new wide body kit coupled with the stock ride height. Maybe it would look better lowered a few millimeters with some more aggressive wheels.

The new WRX is longer, wider and ugly all around. Subaru really messed up. On the bright side anyone with a 2019+ STI will see their value increase.

Dang that thing must be flying like a rocket! I think when i compare the feeling of the engine, maannn that new wrx is tempting when compared to last gen… last gen looks sorta sexier but i got to say the driving experience is nicer on the new one

Saw a black limited at the dealership on Saturday and the interior is so nice. Pictures and video don’t capture that interior. The shapes and edges do look even better in person.

Ill look into that for you! From driving both, ngl, the new cvt is quick. The pull felt strong LIKE the STI, but it didn’t feel faster per say

Tbh the new WRX felt significantly better than the previous generation, and I know that for a fact because before this I had a 2019 WRX and yeah the STI is so much better in every way, but in real life, driving to and from work, when you drive the new WRX you might think twice because it feels strong. Still, I prefer the styling of the previous gen. Thanks for coming by James! :)

Subaru please get rid of the CVT transmission, just put a decent auto in , least then you won't have to mimic gear changes lol 😂
Run both cars at speed on a long gravel road for like 8 miles - see if the cladding is a issue after that

Ayy thats whats up! How are you liking it so far? I got the base with the short throw shifter thats it and its my favorite car ever of course! Im keeping mine stock, but probably will throw some exhaust tips on
@@itskells7557 i love the car man, had it since last june almost hitting its one year anniversary. yea thats what i thought id leave mine stock, but then i was like ill just go stage 1+ with the cobb sf intake cuz i needed to get some turbo sounds, and then got an axleback muffler delete for exhaust, thinking of going downpipe too but id need fuel and then its like 2k for the whole thing lol but the intake was so worth it for the sound. its my most expensive car ever since i came from a 06 f150 lol

@@itskells7557 haha youll upgrade to a catback soon enough, took me a year though. i just installed the remark full 3" catback without reasonator or mufflers and thing sound bad af and loud.

@@itskells7557 the hate is rooted by tuners especially, since the interest is to tell people how ugly it is so people buy there stuff.
Look at those who paint the cladding, it is so damn ugly while the black cladding suits the car way better.
The only thing I agree with is that the rear bumper is a little exaggerated , other than that, the car looks like a BRZ bigger brother, especially from the rear
