Great video, thank you! We will be there on NCL Prima in mid June. I'm looking forward to seeing the glacier. The terrain looks similar to where I live in Maine, USA. I live near Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
@@AgelessCuriosity the guide told us that the glacier covered the the area where the water is now only as far back as the 90's , we are going back next may so will be interesting if anything has changed
Your videos are honestly the best I’ve watched and I’ve watched a few doing research for my cruise in September. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the series. Little advice, I found your text small and flashed up too quick to read, so bigger or longer please. Also your both so great on camera maybe some commentary or vlogging would be great. 👍🏻🤗
hi hubby and myself are cruising on the Iona in September. your stop at olden. how much per person was the sky lift ? and how did you get there. it looks amazing. what was the whole cruise like and the iona is she a grand ship ? regards Therese
Hi Therese, you should love the ship..it has lots of light in the Artrium which gives the feeling of space as well as lots of different areas to provide that more 'cosy' feel. So it should appeal to most tastes. It's certainly more of a 'contemporary' look then other lines such as Princess, but then that's the beaity of cruising as there is something for everyone! As for Olden, you can get tickets from the building at the END of the dock which has a Cafe attached to it...if you watch the video at 8mins 50sec, it's the building we're walking towards. The cost for the Skylift AND shuttle service (coach) to get there (also picked up beside the ship) was 850k each, which works out at approx £75 / $90 each. The skylift is approx 3miles away from port. As for the cruise itself it was great, if you're fortunate enough to get a balcony cabing teh views will be amazing. It'll also be hard to get bored on the ship as there are plenty of things to do or places to relax in. We'd love to hear how you get on...and hopefully you'll love the ship and the cruise 🙂 Also, we're about to go to Alaska with Celebrity Cruises, via San Fancisco, Seattle and Vancouver (where we board the ship)...so if that's something that you think will interest you, and if you haven't already, we'd love for you to subscribe as it really helps us grow the channel. Hi Steph...the walk is around 30-40mins...but it is surprisngly steep for the first 10mins then flattens out; however it IS WORTH IT. The Troll cars charge...its aroun £22 or $25 each and you miss out on the lovely views by taking them as they go via a different path.
@@stephwright117 That's great to hear Steph...we love it when people comment on the videos as we know we're doing something right! ;) We loved the Fjords..you may have also seen that we've just come back from Alaska...and on comparison the Fjords are better. Which ship are you going on?
@@AgelessCuriosity I am following in your footsteps and going on IONA, I have the same itinerary as you did as well so I'm watching all your videos, which are brilliant and really helpful by the way. Thank you.
Yes this is beautiful.
Also went to flåm, it was beautiful.

Prima looks a fabulous ship Rick, we're sure you'll love both the ship and the Fjords...would love to hear what you think afterwards!
was there on the 17/5 shocking to see how much the glacier is vanishing
You're right JD...it was quite a surprise to see how far it had retreated in the last 90 years...

We are going to be there next mid-May. When was this video taken?
Hi Scott, we went in the first week of May...so not far off when you'll be there! What ship are you going on?
@@AgelessCuriosity We'll be on Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas.

How long is the walk up to the glacier? Are the troll cars free to use?

What month were you there?
Hi Kat. We were in Olden on 3rd May, so early in the season. We certainly needed layers
