- Join myself and Lisa as we hike up to the Briksdal Glacier in Olden, Norway. After a scenic drive through the valley, we set off on a one hour hike up to the glacier, passing a startling panorama of mountains and waterfalls.

Norway really has some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world and it really must be so incredible to see them in person!

So pleased that we’ve already booked the troll cars and yes, great tip about doing this first.
The troll cars will give you more time topside! This will allow you more time to enjoy and appreciate the landscape and take it all in. Very excited for you guys!

You can cruise to Norway from Southampton and even book a summer cruise, if thats' what you wanted!

Pulses were good, just as well as that was only half way up and there were no spare seats on the troll cars!

Wow. Another absolutely stunning place, what an experience to go to Norway. It truly is like a fairy tale. Love the horses, amazing to learn about their history and how they connect to vikings. That was just lovely and looks like something out of a fairy tail. It is pretty amazing to see how far the glacier has retreated over the years. The glacier is still very impressive and you are right the scenery all around is stunning. Loved the waterfall and the Fjord horses too! 👍😊
From time to time and depending on the winters, the glacier actually advances forward. Its a shame that one day it may not even be there to see! Glad we did this cruise now...

What a beautiful hike! We've been fortunate enough to see a few glaciers in our life and we're always amazed by them. The creaking sounds they make take a little bit of time to get used to though. We enjoyed the 360 camera perspective, we've looked into them before but we may need to look again. It really added a lot to your video! Thanks for sharing your experience! We are taking a cruise to the Fjords this August and we’re hoping to do the same hike too. Is the hike itself technical? We have a 3yo and 7yo that we wanted to do the hike with us.
There is an area by the waterfall that has steep steps but there is a handrail. This could be tricky with kids but you could take the road option. Alternatively, book a trolley car to get up there in plenty of time but pre book your trolley car as soon as possible! Also, when on a cruise excursion you are tight for time and especially with little ones. It took us about 45 minutes up and 40 minutes back. I'm sure you will be amazed to see this place. We sailed from Southampton to Haugusend, Geiranger Olden and Bergen. Possibly our best cruise so far!
