Brian Bedford was one of the greatest stage actors of the twentieth century and a brilliant member of the Stratford Festival as both actor and director for almost forty years. He is still desperately missed by those of us in Stratters.

Today Brian is 80 years old and I'm sure he still sounds like Robin Hood. I wouldn't want to play a man. Brian actually didn't want to do it. He was 75 when it happened.
My most memorable character from Grand Prix (1966) but the stage was this man's element. I find Mr. Bedford's performance in that film to be extraordinary.
I'll bet you didn't know this: not only was this guy the voice of the animated Robin Hood character who was a fox. He also shared a birthday with Cher's former husband from "The Sonny and Cher Show", Sonny Bono!

I understudied him at Stratford. He was truly great and it was an honour to work with him. I also played Feste to his Malvolio. Dearly missed.

I didn´t know he died in 2016... now that I think of it, he could as well have voiced Nick Wilde in Zootopia... that would have been SICK :D
He would have been too old, unless Zootopia had come out in lieu of Robin Hood in the 1970s.
