I was interested in seeing this until I found out they split it into two movies. In the history of cinema, that has never resulted in two GOOD movies. I have no intention of monetarily supporting this practice.
@@Ratatoeskkr They needed to split it up to keep all the songs and do justice to the original source material. A movie where they cut good songs for the runtime was the Mean Girls Musical.
Hmm okay. I don't get why they would have to cut it for the movie. They tell the same story the do in the musical, don't they? The musical lasts 3 hours, so shouldn't it be possible to make a movie out of it?
I'm so excited for this, only I do not think Jeff Goldblum might be the correct casting for the Wizard (I am nor sure whether he can sing, and he has at least one major song, Wonderful). I hope this does not play out in the same way as casting Russell Crowe as Javert in Les Miserables. I had so hoped they would cast Alan Cumming, who has so much in common with Joel Grey, who originated the part of the Wizard (both did trailblazing performances as the Emcee in Cabaret). Peter Dinklage, however, I consider to be perfect for Dillarmond; he has at least one other musical role (Cyrano) that I know of. And I am pumped for Erivo as Elphaba - is there already a recording of her singing Defying Gravity?
@@ToryAdamsSantistevan I didn't know John Powell (composer for my favorite franchise of all time, How To Train Your Dragon) was composing the score!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!
A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, Wicked spotlights the untold stories of Oz's most famous (or infamous) characters, namely the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good Witch. The show follows green-skinned star Elphaba from birth to college and through the life-changing events which eventually label her "wicked," introducing spoiled rich girl Glinda, local prince and heartthrob Fiyero and even the Wizard of Oz himself, a troubled man very unlike the one you may remember. As Elphaba, a passionate political activist if there ever was one, fights injustice and seeks to undo the mistakes of the past, dark secrets and personal tragedies shape the history of Oz, paying homage to the classic Wizard of Oz story while simultaneously changing fans' understanding of it forever. A cautionary tale about love, friendship and trust, Wicked effortlessly reveals that there are indeed two sides to every story. I'm just upset they don't have the orange guy himself in the movie 😫😫😫
Is It Henry Jackman, Michael Giacchino, Mychael Danna, Randy Newman, Thomas Newman, John Powell, John Debny, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Mark Mothersbaugh, Newton James Howard, Tom Holkenborg, Bear Mccreary, Antonio Di Lorio, Harry Manfredini, Alan Menken, Danny Elfman, Dominic Lewis, Alexandre Desplat Or Andra Datzman?

Same here. Such a shame! Especially because there is absolutely no need to split it when they can make it as a musical in one part :(

"The best way to bring people together is to give them a shared enemy." A potent reminder for today's world, too.
Goosebumps!
Who Conducted & Composed The Music For This Movie?
Stephen Oremus and John Powell I do believe. As well as the original musicals creator Stephen Schwartz.

i’m so excited for this movie 🎥
I cannot wait!
So Dorothy is the Murderess of Oz now?
Uh no, you should read both the book and the stage play story

Not sure how I feel about them ‘pop starring’ up the voices! The musical versions sound way better ❤

Stephen Schwartz.
Is the wizard of oz a good guy or a bad guy
This a guy trying to hold onto power with smoke, mirrors, and curtains.
