- Don’t miss national treasure and Poirot star David Suchet as the formidable Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s much loved masterpiece The Importance of Being Earnest, which comes to the Vaudeville Theatre London for a strictly limited season from 24 June 2015.
Directed by Adrian Noble, (Amadeus, The King’s Speech, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) Wilde’s superb satire on Victorian manners is one of the funniest plays in the English language - the delightful repartee and hilarious piercing of hypocrisy and pomposity can still make you laugh out loud.
David Suchet proves once again that he can play all the characters ( man and woman ) ... We ❤️ David Suchet.
Just proves what we all think, what a superb actor he is, David Suchet brought 'Poirot' to life and was perfect in the part, just as Joan Hickson was superb and was perfectly cast as 'Miss Marple'. He has been in Wilde's 'Earnest', and he was wonderful in 'Dr Who' last night as the creepy, mysterious landlord.
I wonder if he was secretly thinking to himself "---Oh God, I look like my mother! " at one point.....
He is amanzingly good as an actor and incredibly humble as a person
He could play the role of Miss Marple.....

In South Africa we have a comedian and satirest called Pieter-Dirk Uys and has an alterego called Evita Bezuidenhout. One night after a show at one of the small rural towns one of the very conservative older gentlemen came to him and said he's not so sure if he agrees with this lady, but she has very nice legs.

How have I only just now discovered this?!!!! I would have loved to have seen David Suchet as Lady Bracknell, though being in the US would have made that a bit tricky.
