Woohoo 🎉! We made it to 2000 subscribers! I am so grateful for all of you who have supported me through my journey this far! I have had some great conversations with people in my comment section, and I really believe that this community is one of the best on TH-cam (not bias at all 😂).
Thank you for commenting!@@RIOLOGY I love your videos! Just the other day, I was binge-watching a ton of your videos. I really enjoyed your Baltany explorer video - great shots of the watch as well!
Congratulations on hitting 2000 subscribers. Another build under your belt. That gets another congratulations!!!! I think the tools from DIY are better than the "generic" tools out there. Buy, yes, you do pay for it. You carry them forward to the next build. Once again, big congratulations on the growth of the channel!!! Cheers from the east coast.
As fun as building your own watch might be, what I really want from this video is your chair! 😄 Also, congratulations on 2000 subscribers! It's only been 7 months since I was able to congratulate you on the first 1000.... What you're doing works, so this will only keep going one way. Happy to be here for the journey
That is the first skeletal dive watch I have seen… maybe it is to see if there is water in it. As for NATO straps, put the spring bars in first and then slide the band into place, it is easier that way😊
You know what, I think this also has to be the first skeleton diver I've seen as well! Thanks for the advice! I tried to put the spring bars on first, but I think this NATO is too thick for the strap to slide under the springbars! Thank you for watching;
how thick is the Nato strap? i've seen anywhere between 1.2 to 1.5 mm. as for fitting it properly, i watched a lot of YT videos that never mentioned removing the spring bar from the clasp ?!
Hi Jay! The main problem I had with the NATO was that the second piece of fabric on the rear end of the strap was too short for the case of the watch, so I had to take out the spring bar in the clasp in order for me to adjust that part. Then, I had a difficult time putting the spring bar back into the clasp.
It looks like a good way to try building a watch _with_ a little extra help to reduce the build time, reduce the difficulty & propel you toward success. As for the watch: I don't mind skeletonized movements when they're only visible from the back. Otherwise (when the dial is absent or exposes much of the movement) it's very hit-and-miss for me, but I actually don't hate this one. About placing the second hand: I pick it up with rodico (away from the post hole), then move it into position, and place pegwood on the post to hold the hand there while the rodico is removed. The rodico is sticky which is how you could pick up the second hand with it, but you need something (like pegwood) to keep the hand from trying to "leave its post" with its new buddy the rodico. Let's also appreciate something nice about the second hand: _it has no alignment requirement_ so you just need to get it securely on there (w/o using undue force) & you're done with it. Being able to clearly see what you're doing is key. If your energy level is right you may have all the steadiness you need in your hands, so it's a matter of patience (when mounting the hand in the "normal" way, either with cheap plastic tools or a hand press). I'd like to recommend an affordable clone of a Bergeon hand press tool: it's on AliEx, seller is "Kwong Yuen Watch Repair Tools Store", search the store for "GY0105-4". Don't buy it now, but see if the price is more palatable in the 11/11 sale (biggest annual sale coming up very soon). Kwong Yuen is worth a look for affordable & high quality tools. Bergeon make some of their tools so expensive they deserve to get cloned IMO. You may find Kwong Yuen tools at lower prices from other stores on the site but personally I feel comfiest buying from them directly. I hope it might help.
I'm glad you like the watch and thanks for the tool recommendation! I also appreciate that the second hand does not require an alignment at 12. Thanks for watching!
@@TimeTickerOfficial One nice thing about that tool: the stakes are translucent -- so it's much easier to get centered. I'm looking forward to the tool myself, just waiting for 11/11 sale. Anyhow, it's a pleasure to see your enthusiasm & I like your willingness to undertake build projects. Will stay tuned ofc 👍
This is such a great D.IY kit for people that love watches or people that love D.IY. in general it would be such a great gift for birthdays or a x-mess gift. Good break down good video love the out come of the watch.
This is actually my 4th build. Since I am far from a watch-building expert, I reviewed this from a beginner's perspective by highlighting how I would have found this kit very enticing. Thanks for watching
Congrats on your 2K subs. I’d like to see you review sub 40mm watches like an Orient Bambino or Marathon MSAR. Even the smaller Seiko Cocktail time. I think they’ll make a better fitting watch for your wrist size.
You’ve done a couple Napoli builds and now a DIY Watch Club build. Would you recommend one over the other? I really want to try to build a watch. I’m really looking hard at the Aplinist from Namoki
Thanks for the question! I think it really depends 😅. If you are completely new to watch-modding, I'd say go with the DIY watch club kit for the headache-less experience (e.g. you get two sets of hands, the stem is precut, etc). In terms of part quality, I believe that Namoki still offers some of the best quality mod parts. You can't go wrong either way. The Alpinist does look quite intriguing. By the way, you can use TIMETICKER5 if you want to purchase from Diy watch club or Namoki for a 5% discount! Thanks for watching
They are good but overpriced. I got a a skeletonized Fossil watch from my ex gf. Almost unwearable but pretty cool to look at. Everybody should have one skeletonized watch in his/her collection. Oh, and try to get one where you can see the spring barrel. That reveals the function way better. 🕐⚙️🍸
Thanks for the suggestion! Ill have to check it out! To be fair, you can definitely buy the individual parts for cheaper, but if I had this kit when I started out, I would have been a lot less reluctant to start my second build 😅. I'm glad that I picked up my first skeleton because I also think that they are basically a staple piece for any collector. Thanks for watching!
@@TimeTickerOfficial I just said that thing with the skeletonized because my old Fossil has it. It’s pretty cool for showing the function of a mechanical watch to other people. Believe me, I had no clue about that when I got it ten years ago.

Interesting video and I'm glad you showed the difficulties of watch building. I still my build my own!
Thanks for watching another one of my videos! What type of watch are you building?
Congratulations on the 2k subs!!!
Thank you so much 😀
Great video. They offer fun things and options!

Hearty congratulations on hitting 2K TT ..... Good to see your channel doing so well, and your self-build collection growing so eclectically.
Thank YOU for watching my videos this far Mark! Some of my favourite pieces in my collection have to be my DIY builds!
Looks really nice sis! Interesting content
Thanks! I had a lot of fun putting it together 😊
awesome content
Thank you so much Chris!
Good review. I think it looks quite nice, I like the wave effect that makes the skeleton a little discrete 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I look at this website for so many many times, but the reason I still won't do : I want a dive flieger and they won't mix that haha
You should try putting together a flieger-diver using mod parts!
You could use a flieger dial and a diver case
