I need to correct for something really important in the video. When I looked at the creek gap I said the landing seemed janky, but when I rode it the landing was super smooth. The reason I say this is that someone hauled a shovel out there and toiled in the sun on that landing. The final word? The whole gap was rad as hell and sent smooth as butter.
Thanks to Minh Hai for showing us around! Kauai was amazing, but I'm home now and it's time to start working on the dungeon. Once the weather clears up, on to Berm Creek! In other news, official jerseys are now available for preorder. Check the description for links!
My Playtime have you ever been to Wharncliffe / Grenoside woods pal in Sheffield? Only asking because if you go to sherwood it might be worth adventuring a bit further out to those woods, there's some narly trails that Steve pete's had made that'll blow your mind and in my case break my arm lol
My Playtime it's basically my real name (first names Richie that's short for Richard) and I hear ya I've only just jumped back on a bike for off road in last year but I've commuted on it for 10 years, still major unfit though and tend to ride down hill and push up. I'm on ps4 buddy but don't really get the time with having 2 kids under 6yo, I might only get on it once a month but feel free to add me if your on ps4 my psn's richthestig
Holy crap, this is so perfect. Incredible vistas, beautiful trail, a local who knows where to find this amazing stuff and the weather to make it all work. This might well be my all time favourite video of yours, just stunning.
Can't agree more, anyone criticising him for spending $1000 for a day of amazing memories and new friends, think about how much you spend on your plastic beach getaways which leave you with nothing more than temporary tan lines and forgettable hours in expensive beds. Value is entirely subjective and I don't there's any better way to spend your money than on memorable experiences.
Hey thank you for converting to Celsius ... the question was already forming in my mind when you helpfully let the rest of the world know what the temperature was. :D
My favorite video of yours yet. I just bought another specialized rock hopper pro and have gotten back into riding here recently.Your videos help me out a lot!
I lived on Maui for years, that's where I started mountain biking. As you observed, Hawaii is pretty amazing. On Maui at the time, there were 2 trails. 2. On the entire island. You can't road trip to another trail system an hour or 2 away...you just ride the same 2 trails. Land access and building new trails is insanely difficult compared to most of the other US states. It's a mixed bag for sure. Glad you had fun and got to share this experience with your viewers, it really is the most beautiful place on earth. Whenever I had a little money and time I would take my surfboard and a tent and go camp on Kauai and surf and hang out...it's beautiful.
Wow! 10/10! One of my favorite videos so yet! So much environment: trees, dirt, landscape and I felt a smidgen of the culture there. It's just so nice and you sure did finish it off strong!
I come back and watch this video all the time because the discovery and exploration that comes with mountain biking is what makes me love it so much. Always quality content Seth!
I love your videos. I don't really have mountain bike trails near my house (we have a massive park full of trails down the street, but it's full of pedestrians) you make me want to go somewhere crazy and ride there. thank you. I'm still in high school, but biking is one of my favorite things.
Bummers! I live on Oahu. I was "right next door". I just got into MTB a few weeks ago, and I have found your videos invaluable to my noob experience. I am late to the game (I will be 50 in August), and your videos have helped me avoid a lot of new riders' mistakes. Thanks!
I love your videos. I follow a couple of other mountain biking youtubers but there's just something about yours that makes me love it more than any other channel. I can't put my finger on what it is but keep doing what you're doing!
way cool. Seth, you know why I like your vids..... the music that you insert. Your Whistler elevator music riding the lifts.... today's Hawaiian drums. Your video's remind me of the Warren Miller Ski flicks that was/still is part of the skiing culture. Nicely done.
bullwhip johnson , ahhh, you're not incorrect. Lawrence Welk pioneered the original elevator sounds. The question I have is, how did elevator music become it's own style that is used universally? 😊
Muddy Paws The Champagne Music of LW is something I grew up with. There was a private Radio channel called Muzak that was available to businesses. Groceries, Department stores and others subscribed. They produced music like 101 Strings and the like that did instrumental covers of popular songs. Like the Beatles Yesterday.
Very cool. I moved to Kauai when I was 18, and then again when I was 20. Best experience of my life. Best place I've ever lived. Went on lots of hikes but never mtb. Awesome video
I feel once pretty badly and besides other injuries my knee needed stitches. Having a bigger open injury on the knee, which is always moving, is not fun! Fellows, i can only recommend to you, get some kneepads and invest some money in your health. I got myself some very comfortable knee pads and feel way safer on the trail now.
Kauai, is the most relaxing out of all the islands and it has the nicest people. Don't forget to go snorkeling, they have a lot of beautiful fish and turtles. Take it easy.
Glad to know you enjoyed the stay! As a resident in oahu I can definately say Kauai is one of the most beautiful islands (I’ve visited kauai, maui, and the big island). Hope to see you in oahu some day!
That was really awesome... Super cool creek gap and that buoy forest was pretty weird. I was just wondering if you have a strava. I would love to see all the rides you! Thanks, love your channel! -Gavin
SETH YOU MAKE ME LOOK UP TO THINGS! I hope me and you can ride one day. I’m 13 and you got me to ride more. But I don’t have a great bike but I’ll make due. My dads Gary fisher is the reason it all started and you. Hope we can meet eachother one day
Seth's Bike Hacks hey thanks, I will once he quits but for now I’m using a mongoose Mack. Honestly you have made my day Seth! I will continue to look up to you and work hard for some money. My next bike I’d like is the diamond back recoil 29. You have no idea how much this means to me
Ok so I travel a lot and I got the opportunity to ride there with some locals, and these were some of the coolest trails ever, and also that tunnel was from an old sugarcane plantation railway.
When I went to Kauai with my girlfriend and her family, all I could think about is everything I wanted to go down on my bike! Great to see it happen on your channel Seth

As I've been consuming mtb youtube content since late January I have been wondering if some Kauai riding would ever come up. I'd never searched for it but then this popped up while looking for something else. Kauai is my favorite place that I know of on Earth. I made my own road bike video of the climb up Waimea Canyon in 2016 and I just loved riding all over the island. This video is telling me I should really consider packing my mountain bike next time I go. The only downside is a can road bike right from where we stay. With the mtb I have to drive it to the trails. But omg, those trails. I'm so glad I ran across this video.
Damn I really wish I could ride in different climates and landscapes, Hawaii and Florida look like cool diverse places to bike. Riding Utah is fun in all but I’m so used to the dry weather and mountain forest feeling
I also had the pleasure of riding with Minh Hai on last years trip to Kauai. I jumped into a Sunday ride with some locals and it was the best ride I’ve ever been on to date. I’ll live in Hawaii soon 🤙🏽
Great vid! while vacationing in LA last september. I bought a used santa cruz because i knew i had to try the trails in socal as well as hit the bike park in Snow Summit. Well worth the few thousand dollars i spent. Just like you said, you are paying for the memories!
I am so touched by your ending phrase:You are paying for your memory. I like it. I am not rich and actually should not spend a lot, but I want to have a memory, I want to complete certain dream before certain age, so, I spent $2400 to own an entry level recumbent trike (can also run on battery), assembled it myself. Just 2 months later now, I am gathering parts to complete another dream, a deep dream-----to assemble a mountain bicycle from scratch, I should not spend so much, but I did them for my dream, my memory.

Seth after gathering all that footage , how long did it take you to piece all the layers together in that video ?
Seth's Bike Hacks you should come to Australia soon and ride some trails in Victoria
this damn video probably took forever.
Seth's Bike Hacks hey Seth can you please do another video on all your bikes we want to know what’s in your currant squad keep up the great work
Seth's Bike Hacks how do I tell if my hydraulic brakes need to be bled?
But did you see a double rainbow!?
Seth would try to jump between the rainbows instead of crying. I can't tell if it would be a good or a bad thing.
double rainbows are rollable
Seth's Bike Hacks and huckable ;))
Skills With Phil shut up no
I once saw a triple one, no kidding.
"The nursery of stupid ideas is where the greatest memories mature" needs to be written on one of your bikes

Seth's Bike Hacks Will you be at the santos fat tire festival in Ocala Florida in March
Hi Seth can you film a bike to all of your bikes?
That buoy trail must have taken so long to put together, dirt looks insane too!

Glad those roosters got a shout out, little bastards are everywhere!
BKXC lol
BKXC and seth and alex next winter do a group on this HW Isle sure you guys would get a sell out in 5mins especially in January
are they on the trails too lol
I live on Kauai. Chickens are everywhere.
Brian dont forget about cats too
I love kauai. i did a lot of archaeology work out there and LOVED having my bike with me.
Just when I thought you couldn't up your video game more, you send it. One of your best works.
DirtWireTV last vid was better thsn this one
Liking or not liking a video is totally subjective. That said, scientifically speaking, you are 100% incorrect.
Agreed! Shveeet video!
Agreed
DirtWireTV I totally agree this was such a great video
“I can’t tell if there’s a person here.”
Crackhead infront of him: (0_0)
Lol
amazing place for riding, great video my friend
Seth, as a rider and as a person, i respect the hell out of the fact you don't rat out trails to others.
Ethan ridesbikes so u thank him for not letting the same community enjoy trails meant for that community

Irving Washington idk I wouldn’t spend 1000 a day for that
I live in New Zealand they have beautiful beaches but I must say they aren’t as good as these.
Also, think about the fact that he probably made 1000 dollars for this vid alone so...
I'm from Hawaii and you're right. Constant rainbows and random chickens everywhere. But that dirt man, you don't understand. It stains everything.
"The nursery of stupid ideas is where the greatest memories mature" - So True
Unironically that is such a deep quote lol

Ian Taylor At least if you live in the United States you learn them both. I don’t give a shit if they give it is C or F because I know them both.
Seth! Wow, that jump was crazy! Thank you for taking us along.
My favorite video of yours yet. I just bought another specialized rock hopper pro and have gotten back into riding here recently.Your videos help me out a lot!
Anyone else see that creek gap and NOT expect Seth to hit that thing!?!?! But he SMEASHED it!!!!
Yeah, that fucker's pretty crazy. I wonder how many feet that was?
I like your last name!
It's a 22 ft. gap.
Denver DH'er
He rode BMX so that would kinda explain it.
what im trying to figure out, is why much of the footage seems to be shot from chest height, but in the crash I only see a helmet cam.
I watch a ton of your vids. That was one of the best. Life is about experiencing things, and that experience was priceless for sure.
That buoy forest was the coolest thing I've ever seen
right
*scariest

Dude!!! That gap looked freaking HUGE!!!!!!! Now I know where I need to convince the Mrs. to go on vacation!
The go pro effect didn’t come into play here, shit looked HUGE. Looked like a road _and a half_ gap, but sketchier
Budget friendly biking in
Wow! 10/10! One of my favorite videos so yet! So much environment: trees, dirt, landscape and I felt a smidgen of the culture there. It's just so nice and you sure did finish it off strong!
You put amazing videos out seth. Keep up the excellent work. Im looking to get my first mtb in 20 years because of your videos.
+Alexander Howitt hell yeah dude!
This one of those channels that I watch and just enjoy your passion for your hobby. I'm not a biker myself but I can see the joy biking brings you
Seth, your commentary has gotten to be top notch. Keep up the good work and let me ride with you in Ashville sometime.
I come back and watch this video all the time because the discovery and exploration that comes with mountain biking is what makes me love it so much. Always quality content Seth!
Dude your videos are amazing!! And they keep getting better!!

12 years ago I found myself on Kauai and rented a mountain bike for the 1st time and had an absolutely amazing day. Loved this video.
Ok I don't say it to often but I'm jealous Seth. That trip looked insanely awesome

Muddy Paws I thought it was Lawrence Welk.
Yeah, not the usual jazzy EDM stuff that everyone else on TH-cam uses
bullwhip johnson , ahhh, you're not incorrect. Lawrence Welk pioneered the original elevator sounds. The question I have is, how did elevator music become it's own style that is used universally? 😊

Totally heart warming! Keep 'em coming!
I was in Kauai winter break... Had no idea about these trails!
Totally jealous! We went there this last year and didn't even think of riding while I was there. Thanks for the awesome video!
Man that looked like so much fun and so worth the money.
