I saw this game as a kid in 'Sega World' in the UK. And my parents didn't let me play it cos "we had Sonic at home".
Never saw it again.
It's not very common. I played on an Emulator and it was very wonky without the track ball, but still worth trying!

You were actually right to an extent about the level order. Trap Tower (at the time called Gear Castle) was originally the second stage followed by Landslide Limbo, Icy Isle, Desert Dodge, Wild Water Way and Eggman's Tower, or the Almighty Tower

There are only 3 dislikes. That is the number of times Eggman disliked in the video. The 3 dislikes must just be Eggman and his alternate accounts.

Fun Fact: This game was going to be released internationally because in the cutting room floor, there are Eggman sprites of him from Sonic SatAM.
I prefer AOTSH or Japanese Eggman over SatAM Robotnik.
Given how Sonic, Mighty, and Ray are in a giant death trap that Eggman built, I think it makes sense for there to be sprites of the Sonic SATAM iteration of Eggman.

If you haven't tried this out with a trackball in an arcade you're missing out. These controls make WAY more sense when you're flinging a trackball all over the place. I tried it out at an arcade in chicago and had a total blast.

The idea of you being on Eggman's screen in this review is amazing! Certainly my favorite part of this review. Pretty unique. Eggman has great tastes in what he watches in his free time. Then again he also disliked your video several times so does he like them? Hopefully he does.
He dislikes them enough to shoot me out of my house via water geyser, so maybe he doesn't like them very much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love that you put the entire video into Dr. Eggman's screen from the game. It's a nice touch.
If they *did* somehow manage to do a console remake of the game, they could rename that 1 level Eggman's Edifice. It *does* have a nice ring to it.

@Gary Simpson I never heard them say it wasn't canon. Sonic mania plus is basically just an extension of sonic mania with a new mode that takes place after sonic mania. The only thing I heard them say wasn't canon in sonic mania plus is ray and mighty's super forms. I searched up "is sonic mania plus canon" and no interviews showed up you probably misremembered. If there was a proper timeline then sonic mania plus would take place after both forces and mania, which would make it fit. Sonic mania adventures is simply just a promotional cartoon for sonic mania plus so I wouldn't say its canon. But in the grand scheme of things its hard to say what is and isn't canon in the sonic series. There are a lot of inconsistencies in general, like the moon being blasted in half in SA2 but being fixed in subsequent games. Also it would be kinda stupid to not use them again after just bringing them back, then again this is sega. The point is sega never officially stated plus wasn't canon aside from the super forms of mighty and ray, since blaze, sonic, silver and shadow are pretty much the only characters who can have a super form or a variant of a super form nowadays.
Wow you can actually play this now!? I never knew. I'm going to add this to my backlog. Shuffle, Jam and this are the only classic games that I haven't gotten around to yet. Great review man and I can't wait to well...suffer with this great game.

trap tower was actaully the second level in a prototype of the game with
landslide limbo still being the next after that, and it was called landslide zone too.
They should've referenced this game with a cutscene in sonic forces, because you know, the whole sonic being tortured thing even though this arcade game shows that better than a game from 2017.

This is it, Where I first saw Mighty and Ray at an old arcade that shut down in my town years ago but I remember how fun it was playing this game and how infuriating it was to lose and pinch my finger between the rolling ball and the plastic board

Alright I’m guessing garrulous recently watched the sonic adventure 2 fandub because there are multiple reference to the fandub AND I LOVE IT
Not recently, but it just kind of turned out that way. At first the only reference was the 70 alternate accounts, but the Eggman sad thing was originally the OG song but I didn't want to get copyright claimed. This one fits better anyway.

All around me are familiar Eggmans.
I think it would have been super neat if they made a 2D version of one of these stages for Encore Mode in Mania, to go with Mighty and Ray's inclusion! You could have Landslide Limbo's boss, and some of the other stages gimmicks. I guess the Pinball remix is a pretty good reference too though.
Whilst I've never played it, I love the spritework in this game. The characters and thier animations are super expressive, and work great with the isometric perspective!
I'd love to play Trap Tower as a 2D Mania stage.

If you flip one of the dip switches, this can be set to 3 player mode, too.
I interpreted the game as being one big convoluted plot by Eggman to destroy Sonic and Ray and Mighty were unlucky enough to get roped into the mess.
