This year was a very challenging year for me, I was depressed for awhile, So I walked away from my job, cut off some friends & ended my engagement... Fast forward some months later, I feel back like myself again... I know I made the right decision.
I am glad that you are doing better! Especially in the midst of a lot going on in the world. To feel like yourself is a great thing. I wish you the best as this year goes on

Tiana I am happy you have the self-awareness that your well-being is more important than a job. Often people take work stress as normal, but sometimes it weighs on us too heavy and we have to free ourselves from work environments that disempower us. I wish you much success on your business!
Best wishes to you, Tina! Don't be discouraged; NO job is worth that type of toll. You are worthy of a healthy outlook. I don't know your faith, but seek spiritual truth ad live by it. I would encourage you to search scripture and cling to the one and only creator of all, His Word and His arm of salvation (Messiah). Nothing else matters more than this during these craziest times and during our darkest moments. Seek Him and His comfort. Be well, don't let anything or anyone make you feel hopeless. Ever.
Thank you so much for sharing! I quit my job in April and it has taken this long for me to even consider working for someone else. After 10 years of abuse and manipulation, I couldn't find the strength to trust a company to do right by me. Your video is so encouraging. I also just want to help people, and if I must do that freely, it will be for charity. I can't keep allowing these companies to profit from all of my hard work, while simultaneously suffocating my career. You are an inspiration, thank you!
Teria Agee thank you! I am glad you had the courageous to leave your job! It’s not an easy decision to make. But doing what’s best for your overall being is necessary! I wish you the BEST of luck on your next chapter! ❤️

Thank you for being transparent! Yes it’s scary and takes courage to make your well being a priority. Often we consider work stress to be normal and do not realize the long term affects it has on a mind, body and spirit. I was newly hired to work at this job that I hated so much. So glad I didn't make the 90 days probation period and I was let go. So now im on unemployment, have a good amount of savings in the bank and I have a good man by my side. What I've decided to do is find a part time job that I like and work on my side business. I value time and freedom more than anything in the world. I don't need things to be happy in fact im working towards having less stuff and more freedom. Creating memories its what im all about. We only live once.

I hope you can find another position that will best meet your needs and is with an employer that has a healthy and supportive environment! I feel the same way right now. I have been saving $ and been at this job I thought was going to be my ticket financial stability. It pays very well, but after 2 yrs I feel so inept. Like I can’t seem to grasp the business no matter how many classes I take. There’s too much work to concentrate in n classes. Even though I thought this was something I’ve always wanted to do, at the moment I know I need to step away. Event thought I may lose material things, my mind and soul will be saved. I know my family will be disappointed because I’ve always had good $$ coming in. At this moment I just want to rest.
Same. I have children and I haven't told my parents. I ma not lazy...I was working 80 hours a week on average. I loved what I did, but it was too much work, too little pay, as we were financially struggling, and my children did not have me. It took a long time, but I just decided to go for it. I didn't feel that I could push ideas on young people that I didn't agree with morally and didn't want to leave my children to be raised by school and youtube! I just did this a couple of days ago. I need to stay away from naysayers at the time bc my own naysaying is enough as I pray I did the right thing...I pray each and every one of you find something that is fulfilling.
I'm thinking about quitting my job tired of the blame game and being singled out over something other coworkers doing wrong. The finger is always pointing to me😔😔
That must be very difficult to deal with. Some jobs will nurture you and others will not the foster the best environment for you to excel. I wish you the best as you decide how to move forward.
I did the same thing! I was there 10 years at a toxic job and quit last June without a plan. I’m definitely still healing from the abuse and use. I don’t regret it either!

Part of me wants to pack up all of my stuff and just leave I need to start new I need to start over
Yes I am, I live in Baltimore. I agree working a 9-5 can be tiring especially if it’s at a job you do not particularly care for. I would encourage you to explore ways you can use your past work experience, talents and skills to find another position that best meets your needs and/or take the leap of faith with starting your own business. If you haven’t already do some research on what it takes for your business to be successful and be patient with the journey of getting the business where you would like it to be. Also, get a nice support/network of people who can mentor and assist you along the way. And you can use social media platforms like Clubhouse and Facebook to connect with other entrepreneurs. Also, start saving to invest in your business. And most importantly do lots of self-care. I wish you the best!
Okay so, I found your page because I too want to do the same and I don’t have a plan other than me sewing (making clothes) but I’m scared, but then I was like is she from Baltimore lol. Your accent. Anyway this video helped me because the job I have isn’t the end all be all. Thank you
Your welcome! An affirmation I’ve been saying to myself more recently is “I embrace courage, faith and adaptability as they are needed for me to overcome my fear of change or of the future. I regularly remind myself to be positive and open to all possibilities knowing I am the creator of my own destiny.” Change is often scary especially when it’s accompanied with uncertainty. I encourage you to explore ways that you can do what you enjoy and generate income. The world is your oyster. I wish you the best!
I am happy to hear you prioritize your well-being and you are right you will find another one. I’m a firm believer when you release what no longer serves you, you create space to receive what does. Endings are the start of new beginnings. I wish you the best and hope your next work environment is healthy and one you can excel!
My anxiety and mania has just been too much, I quit my job and started selling life insurance u did all the stuff but once u started calling people it was killer in my anxiety I invested money but I literally feel emotionally handicap I can’t bring my self to do things I’m not passionate about And it’s making me so stuck I need help
Thank you for sharing. I can relate to the feeling. After resigning from my previous job. I tried to search for work 6 weeks later and I would get headaches. I listened to my body and decided more internal healing needed to be done. I sacrificed a lot during that time but to me the sacrifice was worth my mental sanity. I wish I could tell you the transition to doing what your most passionate about it easy but it to will have its obstacles. I encourage you to take some time to reflect and journal about the skills you have and the desires of your heart and what type of occupation or business can you develop based on that. The business may take sometime to blossom but at least you know that your employment with a company is leading you to something greater! Also if you are really having a hard time I suggest you explore working with a mental health professional to help you process everything and come up with a plan to move forward. I wish you the best!
If you don't mind me asking... How much did you save? I mean, I don't want to know the dollar amount, just in terms of like did you save a year's worth of bills or what? I'm about to do the same.... I've been with this company 11 years and making six figures... unfortunately I haven't saved much. I was planning to use my 401k to invest in my business and carry me until start making money. I have talked to various friends and family about my intent to quit, but some see it as irrational others think the timing would be wrong due to dealing with pandemic. So, I won't say I don't have a plan, but I will say I don't have a solid plan and I'm 50 (come october). But I feel in my innermost being... that I am being called to focus on my businesses that I started but can't get off the ground because corporate sucks the life out of me. Literally. And I'm tired of certain career constraints amongst other things.
Thanks for sharing! I would say during that time I had 9 months of savings. My plan wasn’t to live off the savings though. I really just needed at least one month break to focus on my self-care. I did end up not working for almost a year after I resigned. I did not intend to be out of work that long. But I am grateful for the opportunity to have time much time to build my spirit and energy back up. Also, work on my business. I learned quickly starting a business by yourself is one the most challenging things to do, but it also rewarding knowing that you are investing money and time into something you are truly passionate about. I would recommend to try to start saving so you can have a reasonable cushion to reduce financial stress. Also, if you are able to dedicate the time you can while still employed to growing your business. And do self-care as much as possible! We often Pour so much into our employers and ourselves that we forget to give ourselves the attention and nurturing we need. I wish you the best and much success with your business!
I think it’s great you currently like your job! If you would like to start a business this is a great opportunity to start it while you are employed to prevent the financial stress while you work on your business. I believe we are living in the times where all things are possible and our dreams can become a reality we just have to “Just do it” and take action! “Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase”. - Martin Luther King, Jr. May 2022 grant you opportunities and resources to activate your business! May you give yourself Grace throughout this process being an entrepreneur is not the easier journey, but possible if you stay encouraged!
I quit my 4 years corporate job because it was mentally challenging and making me depressed and so I decided to return back to my hometown. Now I'm desperately looking for any job for income but I'm not getting any. This job hunt is more depressing
Yes, job hunting can be very challenging especially during the pandemic. I hope this new year brings new opportunities or creative ideas for you to obtain employment or a business that best meet your needs. I wish you the best and may you continue to push through. I learned that during my darkest times I found light and hope in unexpected places.
I don’t get it. If I behaved like this I wouldn’t be just quitting my job I would be quitting on my family. I’ve worked at a job for 20+ yrs and have seen people just quit with no plan because they were “fed up”. I think about them occasionally. Most had husbands or wives who were working and no children but I still don’t get it. I have a wife who is chronically ill and 2 children. Few give thought to how they’d pay for these expenses if they themselves or a spouse got sick. Things like cancer, tumors, surgeries, and debilitating chronic illness are real life events but many never fathom it happening to them when “fed up”. This can really disrupt the lives of a young person, who has insurance. What about people with no insurance? I’d like to hear you talk about this aspect of real life. I have to work for the income and benefits my job provides...forget how I feeeeel about it.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. It’s true many people cannot just a quit a job without a plan. And prior to me resigning from my previous job, I had the similar viewpoint. I didn’t quit my job because I was “fed up”. I quit because I was burned out. If you never experienced burn out then you will not fully understand the physical and mental effects it has on your life. I decided for me, it was best to make my physical and mental well-being a priority and that meant leaving my job with the sole purpose of focusing on self-care. Although, recovering from burnout and starting over wasn’t easy I have no regrets and my life has been much better because of it. I also don’t believe people have to stay in unhealthy work environments for income. Currently there are some so many ways to make income. Ultimately, in life you will pay for the decisions you make in some form. Some people pay by making sacrifices in various ways and some people pay with their lives.
@Cthames123 yea aight big man, different day and age it may not work for you but it work for most who feel the same way. Call em quitters or whatever but we all in our own situations, nobody talkin of you for being stuck at your job paying those expenses that was yo choice for 20+ so respect everybody else’s now 🤷🏾♂️
@@lovelightshinellc thanks for speaking to this...I know burn out, but my “fed up” comment was not fair, for the reasons you described, (apology). I still think there are practical things in life that prevents most from going this route, (burnout and poor work conditions not withstanding). I will submit it is admirable that you are taking ownership of your life and dictating your own path. I think you are really brave. Genuine Kudos. Good for you also in taking care of yourself and not living with bad work conditions. I will say I would have liked to hear you had a plan before walking away. I am rooting for you and want you to succeed, (wildly), at this exchange. Do great things, and come back and report. I will follow.
@@8YearHiatus thanks for replying. In fairness people have free will and can take their careers in the direction they choose to go, so the comment about being stuck at a job for 20+years is not entirely fair. I haven’t won the money game yet, so like many others I need to work for the money and benefits it returns. I have changed jobs over my life and feel There are “safer” ways to do this without assuming some of the risks. I could walk away without a plan and try to figure things out later too but would not voluntarily for some of the practical reasons explained. I’m not hating or even criticizing but expressing how I didn’t understand the choice from my position and perspective. Walking away with no plan is different from getting laid off or making a mistake and getting fired. I would be taking on a lot of risk, and wouldn’t want to explain to my wife, kids and who I may ask for help from that I quit with no plan. It is a new day and age in many ways but the problems, (I need the money), is still the same. Help me understand what is so new about this day and age that discredits what I am describing.
I have been so afraid to quit mine although its stressful and affecting my physical health. I always ask myself how will I survive without income. I admire your strength.

I quit my job a few days ago. It was so toxic in there you could feel it. I know I’ll find another one but the priority was to gtfo of that place.
I am happy to hear you prioritize your well-being and you are right you will find another one. I’m a firm believer when you release what no longer serves you, you create space to receive what does. Endings are the start of new beginnings. I wish you the best and hope your next work environment is healthy and one you can excel!
@@lovelightshinellc I sincerely thank you.
My anxiety and mania has just been too much, I quit my job and started selling life insurance u did all the stuff but once u started calling people it was killer in my anxiety
I invested money but I literally feel emotionally handicap I can’t bring my self to do things I’m not passionate about
And it’s making me so stuck I need help
You're awesome 🙏🙏
Thanks!
Good points
I wish I could but need to move
Can’t move without a job
May your current job serve as a stepping stone for greater. Best wishes on the move!
Love your energy
S. Thank you!
@@lovelightshinellc Thank you for sharing your experience, wisdom and light. 🙏🏾
@@nmbr1analyst Your welcome! 🤗
YES!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
I literally feel like god is telling me to quit my job. I like my job and some of the people but I would like to start my own business as well.
I'm quiting in a year n 3 months
👏🏿🙌🏾
Great story
Thank you!
@@lovelightshinellc thank you for your wonderful response. It means alot to me. ❤️
@@Cthames123 Thank you! I appreciate the well wishes and support!
I have been so afraid to quit mine although its stressful and affecting my physical health. I always ask myself how will I survive without income.
I admire your strength.
Thank you! I hope you can find a position where you can use your gifts and skills without being stressed. I am blessed to have found that. And it started with me releasing the job that wasn’t a fit for me. I wish you the best!
