@@jameschen8 just tried to get a trade in estimate & they dont have the 2019 model to select. so i selected the 2018 with similar specs & its around $1,400 value. so the 19 model i'm guessing would be around 1,800

This is the thing. Windows cripples its devices. It is a horrible OS. Unfortunately linux is not very well supported so the only viable option for me is macOS, despite Apple’s stupid mistakes.

LightningBeast95 it’s literal 💩💩💩. The scissor switches on the new one are the way to go. When I get a free week I’m going to sell my old 2018 on eBay and use that to go in on a similarly speced 2019 refresh.

Nick Mehta To do it they would have to make the screen thicker to fit the Face ID module inside it. So hopefully they figure out a way to make it super thin or put it somewhere else.
Great job on the mic test, you can definitely hear how much better the 16 inch model is! I’m also glad they switched back to the scissor keys! I have a late-2018 MBP and although I’ve never had any keyboard issues, it’s nice to see them accept their screw up and switch back to the old design!

I’m good with my 15inch that I got 3 months ago..
I was going to do the apple trade in program and use that towards the expense of the new 16inch but the only way I was going to pull the trigger if the 16 inch had no bezels..
And for people interested in this for a first time MacBook Pro who are students and need something for mobility the 15 inch is already kind of tedious to haul around on a daily basis. I naturally like bigger displays but figured I’d throw that out there as well.

Apple is giving people better values lately. From the $1,299 base 13" MBP in July that beat the maxed out 15" 2015 MBP in Geekbench, to the $699 iPhone 11 which has the A13 processor and the 12MP wide + ultra wide dual camera system, and now the 16" MBP which got a spec upgrade and a much better keyboard while the price stayed the same as its 15" predecessor ($2,399). Smart move, Apple. Keep it up!

I believe the only BTO that Apple stores are stocking is the 2.4 i9/32GB/8GB 5500M/2TB model. Otherwise you have to wait unless you go for a base model or upper tier model.

Hanging onto my Late 2013 macbook pro 15 retina. This 16" is the first macbook thats come out that seems worthy of an upgrade. I'm gonna wait a while till mine starts really slowing down, but I'm finally comfortable with letting it go
Make sure to switch it to better performance in energy saver, since on about this Mac, the graphics said Intel UHD
Now I can upgrade my early 2015 13” MacBook because the keyboard is reliable again 😂

What’s up y'all. I am currently in a pickle trying to decide between 2 MBP configurations. With that in mind, my primary uses for this will be schoolwork, social media, coding, heavy Final Cut Pro (4K use), as well as occasional AfterEffects and PhotoShop.
1st Config: i7 6-Cores, 32GB RAM, 8GB GDDR6 Memory, 512GB Storage ($2,999)
2nd Config: i9 8-Cores, 16GB, 8GB GDDR6 Memory, 1TB Storage ($2,899)
So I am deciding between whether or not the 2 extra cores with less RAM will be better than the one with less cores, but with more RAM. With the amount of reviews that I have read, I am not sure which configuration to go with. I am not too worried about storage as I have externals to worry about that. In addition, I am fairly cognizant about having too many programs running as once, so I thought I would be okay with the 16GB RAM anyways.
Anyways, that’s what I’m currently contemplating. What are your thoughts on which configuration I should go with - which would be a better value for my workflow/value in this case? Any help will be appreciated - short or length, please educate me. Thank you for your help

I have a 13" 2015 Macbook Pro. I installed a 1TB nvme with an adapter, and it works fine, but it gets a little slow when using Chrome with some tabs open and other programs open at the same time. So I am going to buy the 2019 16" base model tomorrow: 16 GB RAM, i9 2,3 MHz, 5500M. That as well as the iPhone 11 Pro Max, upgrading my iPhone 11. Both for the price of 723 USD equivalent. Noice! I verry excite!

Just sitting here with my 2013 13" MBP waiting for a new 14" MBP.
I feel like this is the MacBook Pro equivalent to the iPhone 11 Pro. Small quality of life improvements, including battery, and going to the limit of what's possible with the current design. Then in about a year we'll get a true redesign, hopefully with HDR, FaceID, a better camera, Wifi 6, etc. That being said, I really hope they make a 14" MacBook Pro because that would be a perfect laptop for me.
What is the obsession with ridiculously thin bezels? I honestly don’t understand it, like yeah the bezels on the old unibody MacBooks were a bit on the chunky side but I don’t see why people are so nitpicky about having unrealistically thin bezels.

The microphone upgrade is not really major though.
For me, the butterfly keyboard is way better and the “esc” button being in the touch bar makes absolutely no difference, ONLY for programers
