Absolutely love Gene Wilder, Benny Hill, and Peter Sellers. I was born a long time after this classic comedy, and I hope one day, there is a revival of good, mostly-clean comedy in my generation.

Monty Python is easily #1, not John Cleese #6. You included Marx Brothers in 1 position, why not Monty Python? They're funnier than anyone else on this list.

Kind of glossed over the fact that Woody Allen won *TWO OSCARS* for "Annie Hall," including writing and directing, and "Manhattan" was nominated for Writing as well. Pretty major. The guy is admittedly a creep, but was such a major force in Film back then before his scandals that he was already so deeply engrained in pop culture and so loved. That doesn't excuse his creepy actions, but the guy's still a *genius.*

People objecting to Woody Allen should take time to watch Take the Money and Run, Bananas, Play it Again Sam, Everything you wanted to know about sex, Sleeper, Love and Death as well as Annie Hall & Manhattan.
Great moments of slap stick comedy mixed in with what Allen's more associated with, the verbal humour.
Jonathon Winters should have been listed.

I know this is not 70s, but Sellers' crowning achievement was Dr. Strangelove.

I was going to put Robin Williams on the list but he honestly hit his comedic greatness during the 90s (though you could put him there for the 70s too).
Carol Burnett show was one of the most awarded shows of the 70s you made Carol Burnett a honorable mention? Wow why I never go by these list

You didnt mention 'Hear No Evil, See No Evil' fro Gene Wilder or Richard Pryor. Also I love that like half of the people in this list were involved in Blazing Saddles

this was much better than the last video in this series when you tried to force five decades of brilliant comedians into one top ten list has so much tons of comedians not has ground breaking put much more talented than their more known counterparts.

Love that John Ritter made this list; don't think Carol should have only been an HM. Mel Brooks, John Cleese, and Pryor are also great, though I'd rather watch Pryor's stand-up.

Only three of Mel Brooks's movies are my favorites and those are Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

The order of the top ten can always be argued, but there is no way that John Ritter and Woody Allen are better comedic actors than John Belushi. Belushi was the quintessential comedic actor of the 70s. Ritter is an honorable mention, at best, and Allen is 99% writer and director. Without that, he is a footnote as an actor. Bob Newhart was a giant comedic talent on television. I'm not disappointed he wasn't on the list because I didn't care for him myself, but where is Alan Alda?
Great list. The first SNL cast is timeless, I'm sure Dan Aykroyd will be in the 80's list along with Eddie Murphy. The 90's will probably be Jim Carey. My favorite off this list is probably gene wilder, great comedic timing and has such a natural talent.
