The PowerShell one worked!! thanks so much, i use it to change audio devices and it just stopped working, I tried them and it works, I had to go into settings just to change it, but now it's back, TSYM!!!

2:43 Tip 4 worked for me, except I just clicked Restart on the Connected Devices Platform Service and the Quick Setting panel was fixed.
restarting windows explorer on task manager works!
i had this problem... none of the tips worked... including tip 5. Before setting up a new user, i decided to try somthing different. Uninstalled the last update, reboot => nothing changed. Uninstalled second to last update, reboot => no change. Uninstalled third last update, reboot => BINGO! one after another i reinstalled the updates i had uninstalled and now everthing is working fine.
can you exactly tell which update solved the problem as i bought a new laptop and it there were a lot of updates

@@mayankarya5969 i don't remember but i'm pretty sure it wasn't the update itself, more the installation that had gone bad. as i redid the installation of the update, everything was fine. just undo them one at a time starting with newest.
