I know my opinion doesn't matter -- nor should it -- but if you ask me, the truck's looking great! Keep going Kyle. And big shout out to Briquetaverne! Thank you for funding my entertainment!
You’re doing great. Keep being the best version of yourself and we all will continue being fans of you and supporting you in whatever ways we can, some financially and others emotionally. It’s going to be a long build and you will need both. Pace yourself and remember that masterpieces aren’t built in a day
I am speechless! I never saw this as an option for the truck. I can't look away. I need to keep watching even as the better half is telling me to do something constructive. Thanks for doing something constructive for me.
I know you reject this idea in your mind. But you asked! I would use the 54 tail lights. It gives homage to its roots. It provides a connection for people to visualize what work was done. I think it will make others appreciate the craftsmanship more.
My first boss taught me to trust myself with my efforts and be very particular about putting my name on the finished product. If you don't feel it's what you were aiming for, don't own it. Make it what you can own in good conscience. Just some ramblings from an old man, but I had a very successful career trying to adhere to it
Eggscellent work! It was a bit scrambled at first, but you can't make a chicken truck without breaking a few eggs. Just got to wing it and let the feathers fly.
Chicken truck really taking shape! Glad to see you used French plaster rather than plain old drywall mud. The eclectic music is definitely appreciated as well. Looking forward to more of this build. Going to be a beautiful custom truck. Cheers! 😎👍🛻🏁🏁🐔
Kyle, the look on your face during the explanation of where the tires came from expresses 100% appreciation! You said you are un-deserving of such a "gift". I beg to differ! There are mountains of us gleaning soo much from what you share. You deserve every iota of gratitude you receive! And I'm sure there are far more than you think that share the exact same sense of humor, LOL. Thank you for all you share, and keep up the good work!
Wow Laurent! Wonderful gift. Kyle.. You should.. The front needs.. The rear needs.. The doors won't.. Gullwing doors would.. Hmm Chicken wing doors maybe??? I'd like to see that, actually. ;) Man.. the ONLY wrong with this is that it won't be mine when it's done. Keep on keepin' on, young feller! Was that a rerun of Allan at the end or deja vu all over again?
Hi Kyle. Ed Roth used plaster of Paris and strips of ripped up newspaper over a (wait for it) chicken wire form. Can be sanded quite easily. Coop up-- I mean, keep up the good work.. Check out Beethoven’s 9 th, some good dramatic punches in there, also Beethoven’s violin concerto in D major. Try to find the Hilary Hahn version.
Just when we think theres no hope left in the world things like this video happens, showing that humanity still prevails! you deserve these 'extras' for all the work you put in, we all love what your doing, keep it up!
I always enjoy a good "Vile Kyle" rant. Ed Roth is defiantly smiling down on this project... but unlike Ed, I suggest the other side of the truck match this side. Great show, give my best to Trixy Tripod! Thumbs up to the French tire buyer! Cheers from your loyal viewer in a shed
Well now, where to start. You are one of the most talented and creative people on the Tubes. your skills are phenomenal. The Chicken Truck is one of the best ever made. the skills that you presented and filmed for us will forever be useful to those ahead of us down the road. It does me good to see others have taken a fancy to your efforts as well. It may be that I will never be able to have a shirt or a sticker, but I something more. Knowledge. We all wish to see the truck succeed, it lives today as a testament to what is possible. Thank you for sharing.
Now we’re talking! This is the kind of truck I am going to enjoy seeing built! The mock up locks great! Nice to see a one of a kind being built. This will look cool cruising around Saskatoon!
I tell my kids the great thing about aging is all the wisdom I have. Wisdom comes from making mistakes. I have made mistakes (and learned from them) in ways they haven't even thought of trying! Just look how much wiser we all are thanks to this one video! Great content, love your channel!
Hey Kyle, I happened upon your channel several months ago and got such a kick out of watching several old episodes that I was compelled to subscribe. Since then I have followed every episode and it has become a highlight of my week when you post new ones. I get a kick out of your brand of self deprecating humor, the seemingly chaotic genius of your work style, and I really enjoy your choices of music.Great stuff, keep it up!!
Good job!! Cadillac taillights 56 and earlier fitted without the bump in the quarters with a soft fade/taper to the bumper. Modify the rear of the trunk lid using that as a tailgate.
I like the Nomad tailgate idea. It is what I first was thinking, too. Then I wondered if a 60-63 Ranchero bed shape and tailgate would flow into your quarter panels. They have a nice rounded shape in the top corners.
Kyle, you got this and yep it'll be a grouse chariot when done. Love watching your work and how you go about creating it. Full credit and gee, I'd love to have your skills and ability!
It must make the hardware stores managers day when you walking, are you sure he not recommending all the ‘car modelling’ materials! There’s no stopping you, but glad to see you laughing at your own actions, great fun😂 and it does actually look good, you’re work with trompe l’oeil was genius In seriousness I’m impressed 👍
The Chick'n Truk rocks!!! Your design is fantastic. True art! I can't get enough. I wish a car company would pick up your work and we could have a nice looking vehicle on the road again.
Not a single idea in what few brain cells I have left for modifications. NEW tires and OLD magazines as well as that awesome trophy and all the learning of how not to do it. I love this channel. OK, so I watch it for all the sarcastic statements when I really just want to see the cats!
Wow you really had to plough through the breaking the eggs bit to get to the making the omelette bit. Great vision, Kyle. Earlier in the vid I was thinking some sort of sloping tailgate would suit it and then you mentioned Nomad. Perfect! Can't wait to see how you transpose that into steel. All the best, Mart in England.
Tail lights; use stock tail lights, just leaned towards front or rear..your choice. Tail gate; yes on the Nomad style, with chrome strips, leaned forwards.
A big shout out to Briquetaverne! Thank you for funding my entertainment also!!! Wow and Wow again that truck is looking amazing Kyle. I wish you the very best in life. God bless
I've been in the Auto Parts Business for over 35 yrs (I know--what's wrong with you). After yrs of aggravation the motto I live by is: "The customer is always right--until he opens his mouth! Getting old and cranky is a wonderful thing! Keep fighting the good fight Kyle!
From here (granted in 2D…) the hood looks fine. But you are there so what do I know. I teach art and when you say you have no skills I’m sure you know that’s nonsense? Your a great artist man! Keep up the good work.
I've heard fairing compound for boats is good for this sort of thing. Watched a guy make a buck for a race car body and he used latex paint to seal the foam. PS. Congrats on the French sugar daddy! Shout out to Brik
Been watching more of your restoration videos. I started working at my friend's father's body shop when I was 14, and continued off and on in that trade over the course of my working life over the next 55+ years. I don't care what the Negative Nancy Numbnuts say, you are one of the best I have ever seen.
What you have come up with so far looks absolutely amazing. When you showed back end , i thought stretching shape of light thats there down with long lens set in
Kudos to Briquetaverne for the cool tires, that was an awesome contribution! The profile of the chicken truck is looking very good. I was thinking the taillights from the Pontiac donor car would have been a good choice, but another thought would be the Lee Custom bubble lenses that were popular back in the day for 1953-1954 Chevys. Chevs of the 40s sells a reproduction, but you could maybe try making your own - build a form, get some plexiglass, heat it up in the oven, and then let it droop over the form.
Fadeways really look good. Taillights should be rounded, to go with the super flowing, organic look. Will ya mock up the rear wheel openings in a large flowing opening similar to the front? Nomad style forward sloping tailgate would look right.
Hey Kyle, congratulations on the tires! Great to see the support! I work on a budget in my shop as well. I can see the box with a round front behind the cab. I'm imagining the rear fenders following the same slope as the fronts. The "nomad" tailgate sound good! Thanks
I'm a big fan of the 54 Chevy taillights myself. For the tailgate, a 53-54 GM station wagon tailgate might be a good start. IF you can find a usable one that doesn't cost an arm and leg. Loving the look so far, can't wait to see what else you do
What a great video ... spray it with resin and be done with it ... I'm likin the lines ... I would keep the tailgate simple ... now we're all gettin fired up ...
Hi Kyle, the chicken truck is looking great! I think you used just about every material available, except plywood. Thanks to Briquetaverne for helping Kyle realize his dream of breathing life back into Chevrolet's Advanced Design truck platform and for encouraging his madness! For the chicken truck taillights, I could see something like a late 60's (67,68,69) El Dorado taillight. Those were narrow and vertical and kind of looked like a beak. I thought '54 Chev too but you said they were out for some reason.
You do deserve it Kyle, you don't see the world exactly like everyone and you are an entertaining dude because of that. And as a bonus you aren't arrogant like so many others on You Tube!
Kyle, I'm gonna take your word that using that styrofoam would be a be a real cluster f#ck to try and secure to the vehicle, as well as shape it. You always manage to get thing's done though with what you have, and i can relate to those challenges. I love. your sarcasm and sense of humor, reminds me of myself. You always entertain, and you have some talent that anybody who gives you crap over, probably only has sculpting playdoh car's as their automotive knowlledge. This truck is gonna be a sweet ride. G-d bless.
This looks fantastic. You saved what was Scrap. It is becoming worthy of the road it will return to. I look forward to your treatment of the tail end. I espaecialy like that you have resisted the urge to make fender skirts.
I'm so glad I found your channel. You are hilarious and so off the wall with your technic that it makes watching your videos a joy! I have a suggestion on the front grill, you can buy great looking towel racks from a home improvement store that you could use and modify to make a one of a kind front grill. Really like your channel and the music you put to your videos. Keep up the great odd workmanship!
In the foam and mud stage I couldn't see it ... BUT when you put it in one color and laid in the door gaps it's really quite an amazing shape and flows so well.
Kyle, from an old carpenter, if you want to use the plaster of Paris, put cold water in mixing pan, add plaster to the water not the other way. Shake it in until it absorbed the water. Only mix until it's smooth, over mixing will make it set too quick, or put a little vinegar in the water will slow it down. Another product is durabond 20, easysand. We use this for fast sheetrock repairs. Once you mix it up you have 20 minutes to use it. If you can get the easy sand it is not as hard as the plaster and sand, easier!😊
Nice bit of ssculpting there Kyle, the end justifies the means. I was going to comment about the door hinge geometry but you shot me down before I got started - how about gull-wing style?
A big shout out to Rick Tavern, thanks from all Carter auto styling fans!!! 👋🙏👍👍👍.
Fantastic tires!!!
You have amazing fans. I could never afford to support you in such a generous fashion. I have trouble financing my own project. Love this channel.
I know my opinion doesn't matter -- nor should it -- but if you ask me, the truck's looking great! Keep going Kyle.
And big shout out to Briquetaverne! Thank you for funding my entertainment!
Of course your opinion counts, everybody's opinion counts, that's why this section is provided! ...Oh, and thanks for the compliment!
Pretty slick trick with the black spray paint for visualization. 👍
I thought it pretty clever
I know you reject this idea in your mind. But you asked! I would use the 54 tail lights. It gives homage to its roots. It provides a connection for people to visualize what work was done. I think it will make others appreciate the craftsmanship more.
I don’t know anything about metal working or car restoration, but I do know that this is cool.
I hear some Zac Brown as a theme song, inspired by this comment.
That's definitely worth 3 GROANs...
Absolutely beautiful, Kyle. Really love your design. This chicken is gonna fly, even when standing still.
Thank you! I hope the final product will live up to expectations haha
I really appreciate the black paint for the wheel wells, and the tape for the door gap. Clever.
Chicken truck really taking shape! Glad to see you used French plaster rather than plain old drywall mud. The eclectic music is definitely appreciated as well. Looking forward to more of this build. Going to be a beautiful custom truck. Cheers! 😎👍🛻🏁🏁🐔
The Chicken Truck looks awesome in profile, it has GREAT flow. 👍👍
Kyle , you are an artist, sir.
Kyle, the look on your face during the explanation of where the tires came from expresses 100% appreciation! You said you are un-deserving of such a "gift". I beg to differ! the chicken truck looks awesome .got to love a guy that keeps new tires in his house not the garage.
Wow Laurent! Wonderful gift.
Kyle..
You should.. The front needs.. The rear needs.. The doors won't..
Gullwing doors would..
Hmm Chicken wing doors maybe??? I'd like to see that, actually. ;)
Man.. the ONLY wrong with this is that it won't be mine when it's done.
Keep on keepin' on, young feller!
Was that a rerun of Allan at the end or deja vu all over again?
Thanks for the valued input Joe! Yes the cat content has entered syndication
Hi Kyle.
Ed Roth used plaster of Paris and strips of ripped up newspaper over a (wait for it) chicken wire form.
Can be sanded quite easily.
Coop up-- I mean, keep up the good work..
Check out Beethoven’s 9 th, some good dramatic punches in there,
also Beethoven’s violin concerto in D major.
Try to find the Hilary Hahn version.
I like the classical music but like the mariachi stuff just as well. I don't miss the bad ol' days when everybody used rap. Ugh!
My wife and I really enjoyed the music. I think I will try to buy a shirt. The Chevy looks like my GMC when I bought it in 1978.😊
Fender skirts would be awesome!
Just when we think theres no hope left in the world things like this video happens, showing that humanity still prevails! you deserve these 'extras' for all the work you put in, we all love what your doing, keep it up!
Very impressed with your foam and Bondo fab skills.
That placement of the mock-up door gaps looks freaking perfect! Those tires are sweet, thanks to that guy for gifting them to you ❤
Looking so good; this will be the coolest kustom ever to come out of Saskatchewan! Cheers buddy.
If only the 58 Studenaker had been "massaged"with Plaster of Paris!
Damn I was really hoping I could get away with the whole asymmetrical thing! You internet experts never let a guy have any fun!

part way in loved the bondo joke .... will be interesting to see your solution to the door hinges ..... great design very talented guy ....
Looks awesome Kyle! I think the lights that came with the fenders would look good. Cheers
That's looking really cool 😎! I'm loving it!
Dude!!! you already won the chicken truck SEMA award 😮, you are the greatest, way to go Brian 🙏👍👍👍!!!
We need t shirts with the cats on, great episode as always.
"Well we haven't learned out lesson yet..." regarding expanding foam process. LOL. Love this channel.
Thank you BRIQUETAVERNE you are AWESOME! and you're pretty good too Kyle!👍
Now we’re talking! This is the kind of truck I am going to enjoy seeing built! The mock up locks great! Nice to see a one of a kind being built. This will look cool cruising around Saskatoon!
I almost forgot, you could use 1950 Pontiac tail lights, and french them in. It would be from the correct time period.
Kyle, I love your work and how you take us along. You have a refreshing personal style. Thank you
Dammit this is a cool project. Thank you for sharing your process!
I tell my kids the great thing about aging is all the wisdom I have. Wisdom comes from making mistakes. I have made mistakes (and learned from them) in ways they haven't even thought of trying! Just look how much wiser we all are thanks to this one video! Great content, love your channel!

That’s why I’m here as well.
Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to watch this stuff!
Thank you kindly for sharing this adventure maestro,, 💖🙏💖

Good job!! Cadillac taillights 56 and earlier fitted without the bump in the quarters with a soft fade/taper to the bumper. Modify the rear of the trunk lid using that as a tailgate.
What a great episode and great fans donating to the projects!!!
Huge appreciation for your hard work. They without doubt don't make them like they used to. Glad to see someone keeping it awesome.
I like the Nomad tailgate idea. It is what I first was thinking, too. Then I wondered if a 60-63 Ranchero bed shape and tailgate would flow into your quarter panels. They have a nice rounded shape in the top corners.
Looking really sweet. Enjoying the build very much indeed. Almost 50k subs - should be many more
Kyle, you got this and yep it'll be a grouse chariot when done. Love watching your work and how you go about creating it. Full credit and gee, I'd love to have your skills and ability!
Just think how fast the other side will go. Wow. It's good to have friends/supporters.

Thanks Mart, I still have no idea how I'm going to build any of this out of steel. We will cross that bridge when the time comes!
Tail lights; use stock tail lights, just leaned towards front or rear..your choice.
Tail gate; yes on the Nomad style, with chrome strips, leaned forwards.
You're doing an awesome job Kyle, love the generous folks that are blessing you 👍🎸
Glad to see you getting to drive the '35 again.
I love it Mr. Carter as I said before your great in what you do as a fabricator. Can't wait to see the end result enjoy your build.✌👌
A big shout out to Briquetaverne! Thank you for funding my entertainment also!!! Wow and Wow again that truck is looking amazing Kyle. I wish you the very best in life. God bless

I am extremely interested to see how you pull off those doors opening and closing. I think your build is awesome. Thank you for not bagging it😂
I was thinking exactly this!
@@patmclean1951 Me too. Best option is gold wing doors i think.
Taillights- I think a quarter panel and taillight from a 1950 or 51 Cadillac would flow real nice with what you modeled.
I like the way you think!
Thanks for the tires dude....
The new bodywork looks good and sturdy, and adds R-value👍
Gotta keep them chickens warm in the winter!
A fine example of an Art Deco Style 53 Chevrolet CT Kyle Royale. I absolutely love the body lines, this rod definitely needs fender skirts
That was incredibly nice of Briquetaverne!
Kyle your vision and work is amazing. Thank you brother for sharing it’s always interesting and entertaining
Class job bit of polish and it will shine like miles strato chief keep up the good work
I was thinking ‘54 Chevy taillights too. If your idea doesn’t work out, I’d go with the ‘54’s. She’s going to be a stunner.
I like the taillights that are there
I've heard fairing compound for boats is good for this sort of thing. Watched a guy make a buck for a race car body and he used latex paint to seal the foam.
PS. Congrats on the French sugar daddy! Shout out to Brik
Your metal working skills are very good great and awesome, Kyle. I know it is going to look great.
When you showed back end , i thought stretching shape of light thats there down with long lens set in
I hope when the truck is done that you only sell pasture raised eggs out of the back!!! Thanks for all your hard work kyle.
Saw you over at Cold War motors looking forward to seeing what you're putting on the Chicken truck. I won't let the cat out of the bag.❤
The best approach is reading the instructions three days later Kyle. I support your methodology.
I usually have to pull them out of the trash before I can read them.
Reading the instructions is cheating!!!!!!
Didn't Tim the Toolman Taylor or Red Green teach us anything? We don't need no stinkin' instructions - we just build it twice.
Chicken ute is coming along nicely, 58-60 Vauxhall Velox/Cresta tail lights are a favourite of mine and would fit with some massaging,
Fadeways really look good. Taillights should be rounded, to go with the super flowing, organic look. Will ya mock up the rear wheel openings in a large flowing opening similar to the front? Nomad style forward sloping tailgate would look right.
Yeah I will be doing some mockups with a reshaped rear wheel opening when I'm a bit further along
Your idea for chickenwing doors will look really great.
I'm a breast man myself...😆
Great lines on the Chicken Truck. I’m kind of blown away by the whole process. Very cool stuff.
Loving the look so far, can't wait to see what else you do
Chicken Truck is looking awesome!
What a great video ... spray it with resin and be done with it ... I'm likin the lines ... I would keep the tailgate simple ... now we're all gettin fired up ...

Plaster is what Ed Roth used. He liked the light stuff with the plastic beads in it.
I'd like to advocate in favor of a Foghorn Leghorn hood ornament.
"Gal reminds of the highway between Fort Worth and Dallas--no curves..." Courtesy of Foghorn Leghorn quotes!

Wow Kyle I love the way you think and this truck is going to be epic. Thank you so much for sharing your process.
In the foam and mud stage I couldn't see it ... BUT when you put it in one color and laid in the door gaps it's really quite an amazing shape and flows so well.
Dang it looks really good keep up the good work
