Proud LLW shirt customer... my cars practically finish themselves since I got one! I have seen waaay worse colour matches than that... It's like tremclad knew what those cans would be used for... hmmm... Seriously, most "restored" cars for sale are not done any better than this, and for "just goofing off" it is above and beyond! Dear CWM Scott N. 👍👌👏 Always nice meeting you here. Miss seeing you at Jonathan's channel. Best regards, luck and especially health to you, Hunny Bunny, the agents and, last but definitely not least, cute Francine.
Yes that car looks great. All anyone really needs is a car that is safe and looks respectable, without big rusted out areas. Cars can be fixed and driven for several more years. Good work, I enjoy your videos .
I know this won't be what you want to hear.. But, this is probably one my favorite videos you have done. I have shared to several friends and I appreciate it. Between this and the C 10 episode from last year I think building a "beater with a heater" is getting to be a lost art. Great work and if someone was really up against it they could have done this with pop rivets and a grinder. I know you areused to doing a lot higher end work, but this gets someone with just a little cash through for now. Thank you for this, I really appreciate what it takes to make this look as easy as you do. Great job sir!
I'll post my own thoughts in another comment but I wanted to concur. Like the fixing major rust play list, this was a great vid. I love the other stuff too so I won't say its a new favorite but this is the kind of rough and tumble fix the rust and get it back on the road stuff that I do. I could never hope to do the kind of metal finishing and dent repair of old stuff you do but will always be watching to learn more.
While you did it again, took a rusty piece.of crap and made a great looking daily driver with a little touch of Barris thrown in. You do incredible work. Thanks for sharing this video.
I just finished my shower after Fluid Film application to 3 of my cars. It's my autumn ritual. One of my cars I did almost exactly the same restoration on 2 years ago. It took me a lot, lot, longer than you. I've done more on the frame since as well. I've driven it about 35K miles, since. Tonight I saw some more bubbles in the paint and we know what that means. Your videos inspired me to tackle the job and my car is running like a champ.
This was awesome even if its not the way you are supposed to do it. This is the kind of work us more normal driveway mechanics fix stuff but in way shorter time. Cut some rust, try to make a part that fits, weld it, hide it with filler and paint with a rattle can. While I love the classic car stuff, amazing artistry with the cut and chops, the miraculous dent and crack disappearing videos, this was a nice long video to procrastinate with while thinking I should be in the driveway right now doing the same thing to my rocker panels.
The old girl looks great! Crown Vic's are one of my favorite all time cars. The Timex watch of cars, they can take a licking and keep on ticking. I am going to go outside now and hug my rust free 2004 Crown Victoria. Thanks for the video!
From a customers eye view/close-up nobody's gonna look at an old crown vic for how it's paint job looks, Just as long as all the rust is gone the customer will be pretty happy 👍 Good Job.
That is some incredible metal fabrication work Dude you are second to none. I e done autobody for years and your work is absolutely in reliable great work my friend
It's a 2 week wait, and it's over. You have never disappointed me, I could watch one of your demonstrations every day. How long until our next instalment.
I think this was an absolutely amazing job done in a garage with spray bombs better than most professionals can do you got incredible talent my friend GREAT JOB !!!!!!
@ 15:14 “praying mantis technique” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 sofa king funny You have a very unique SOH - love it! Even when clowning around your exceptional talent is still evident. Excellent video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Kyle loved this video. Amazed at what accomplished in 1:O7:19. Always looking forward to seeing your videos. Oh , by the way you have a wad of masking tape stuck to the back of your jacket.
Excellent job, Kyle for a quick splash and dash. Impressed by the wheelarches and doglegs. Rockers came out well, too. I've been summoning as much inner Kyle as I can muster lately having launched into body repair on my 32 sedan. I have even revisited gas welding and hammering and dollying plus using a shrinking wheel. Hopefully it ought to make it into a video series sometime. Ok, all the best, keep on doing what you do. Mart.
Oh the good old days...when we did everything on the cheap and it came out better then spending money.lol you remind me of a younger me.i applaud you for the memories.peace
I absolutely love your channel and all of your projects, but this was my favorite so far. You are incredibly talented and very entertaining. 100% improvement on the car.
That is the things I tried to do on my disgusting old beaters. I was never welding so many holes up though: A daily winter beater must drive and stop, not more, not less. You actually went over the top. I bought one a few months back with bumps and rust all around. I did hide the very worst and made some repairs on the trunk that did not open and close. Now I must bite the bullet and buy some decent tires that are worth more than the car. This Crown Vic will last more than two years. At least the body repairs. I enjoyed this video a lot.
Well that brings back memories. I used to do rust repair. Dirty, crappy thankless work. You fix the holes and a couple of years later it comes back with new holes in different places. I recognize that technique, it's the old cave and pave ! The patches will outlast the rest of the car here in Atlantic Canada.
This is the relatable type of work that someone on a shoestring budget can do to make a 100 footer into 20/50 (20ft or 50mph) beauty in a couple weekends. Thanks for sharing.
I almost hate to admit this but I've done this very same "restoration" on a car from my past. It turned out really well too! Love the kazoo tune at the end!
I can't get over the work you can do! In my book your a Great Body Man! My favorite on the You tube by far. Most guys would have run from fixing that car not a problem for Carter Thanks!
Nicest looking x service car. Hope your customer is happy, your methods we're proper. A great demonstration on a suitable method of repair and skill development. ! ! !
Well, I think you've done a great job on in. That is a lot of work not counting all the rattle cans of paint. Keep up the good work because I enjoy everything you are doing.
"Filthy garbage dungeon" was definitely my favorite quote of the episode. And one of the better winter beater makeovers I've seen. I'd watch more of this, especially with the "praying mantis" technique, that's gold.
Hey for a quickie that was a pretty good job. Like I used to say our inspector gives it passing marks and two thumbs up when he check it. But the ordeal is he looks at when it’s in motion at 50mph in a severe snowstorm and he happens to be blind. But two thumbs up and it looks great to him. So I am satisfied.
The perfect Saskatchewan winter beater! Certainly more appropriate than some old Volvo with a fresh pinstripe, lol. Love the custom trim delete. Also, those cats should have been conscripted to help keep the rattle cans shaken prior to use!
I love Rustoleum rattle cans :) You've got your very own "Bluesmobile" right there. I second what someone else wrote, that your quick fix-ups are superior in every way to many pro panel shop work. In fact it was great to see you splash out this time and invest in some bondo instead of those usual poverty-level metal=only jobs ;)
You did get carried away by this one but it sure made for interesting viewing ! Nice to see a rattle can job with the myriad sheet metal repairs which just added to my viewing enjoyment. It's a beauty now !
I don't know what you owed the owner of that car, but he got way more than his monies worth. I know we didn't see all the time that you spent on that but you sure did some very acceptable body work in a short time. Thanks for doing a video for us that are freeloading. I appreciate it.
This was one of the cloolest episodes. i got a lot of repair for my money. i think this the most product I've ever seen you use unjokingly. Looks good from here!
So I’m sitting outside having a beer last night and thinking I might give the Ute a quick refresh and stumbled across your video…. I think we may be brothers from another mother… I struggle not to get carried away doing stuff to new cars too…. Good luck
That is one heck of a quicky paint job! It looks really great from New Jersey! A person I know who loves those cars and had one break apart on him from rust while driving!. This was a fun episode to watch. Your half ass job is way ahead of most regular shops. Next time drink a half dozen Red Bulls before painting and you will have them all shaken up at once. In my area, most people have their eyes glued to their phones as they are walking by so this is a perfect paint job to make the car last a while longer. Thanks again for the fun episode and the shoutouts.
I liked this and thought you did a great job that was appropriate for the car. I hope your self deprecation is sarcasm because you’re really skilled! Thanks!
Fluid film and woolwax are not to be underestimated. I've been spraying our cars as well as a bunch of friends' since we moved back to the northeast, and they're all holding up incredibly well. Pair it with a good quality wax on the paint, and your car's basically the TARDIS.
For a minute there I thought I was watching Fitzee’s Fabrication. Great as always. And to be perfectly clear, no praying mantises were hurt in the making of this awesome video.
I have this same CV but in black. You've done a great job, especially on the rust around the tops of the fenders. Living in the rust belt, mine has this same issue. Every time I go to a body shop and ask if anything can be done about it, their reply is usually not too encouraging, and you can't find the rear quarter panels anywhere anymore. I also like that you removed the rear door's door ding moldings. Never understood why Ford put those on with a prong that fits into a hole drilled in the door, leaving that small hole if you remove them.
Seeing that you mentioned Cold War Motors I'll be looking forward to your designing and sewing new upholstery for the Crown Vic, please don't disappoint.
The Vic turned out pretty good! White hides quite a bit!! I had a guy next door that painted his old 70's F150 every other year with Tremclad in his driveway!!
Great video! I'm sure this is the way a higher percentage of folks do repairs in there garage (not even up to this quality). So I bet more folks will like this video than you think! Keep up the quality videos!!! You do a great job producing, editing and filming too!
Great vlog! Its just amazing how great you work! I watch you and Coldwar Motors every week! I really enjoyed your channel. I look forward to each week. Thanks Mark
I follow a few Japanese car restoration channels and some use that method at 28:01 of welding together pieces to make complicated 3d shapes, I think it works pretty good, definitely saves a lot of time.
Considering the state of the car, your work quality was way above average. I've been following Scott at Cold War Motors for 10 years now. You Canadians are pretty damn clever and great craftsmen!

@@coldwarmotors hahahahaha!!!
His quickie rust repair is better than most "pro's"
Totally agree !!!!!
Way better than the newspaper and Bondo or aluminum tape and Bondo rocker panel repairs I uncovered.
Most definitely....
It seems easy but you need to be quite good to pull this off at a reasonable pace.
Wow, it went from junk to "will be junk in four winters" !
My wife wants me to do some chores around the house today. I told she has to wait until after Kyle is done with this car. Thanks for the video!

Fantastic job. The RCMP are going to want this one back in their fleet.

Thank you! Very kind of you to help keep the show on the air!

Definitely blew the budget on this one with labor and materials. Hopefully the video does well to recover some cost. I loved it
