- Washing Machine F06 Error Code Hotpoint Indesit Door won't Open.
I started a washing cycle on the Hotpoint Aquarius Washing machine and then mid cycle it stopped with a horrible burning electrical sulfur smell and Error Code F06 and the Hotpoint Washing machine door could not be opened.
On this model F06 indicates Hotpoint washing machine door stuck.
This Hotpoint F06 error procedure should also be the same for the Indesit F06 error code and Whirlpool F06 error code.
In this video I will show you what I did to fix the F06 Washing Machine fault.
The 1st two steps I show you are the easiest and simplest and will work most of the time. If these first two methods do not work I will then show you some other ways for the Hotpoint Washing Machine Door release.
You may have a fault with the washing machine handle\lever which can be replaced. With ours it was 7-8 years old and was at the end of it's useful life so it was time to cut it loose and get a new Washing Machine.
Avoid a call out and save MONEY by fixing it yourself.

This video paired with a few of your other videos helped me to salvage my clothes that were stuck in the machine, drain the water and clean out the pump filter which helped solve the draining issue my washing machine was having! I get the fo6 error code on my 7kg hotpoint door does open and close checked filter panel at the bottom filter was clean . Checked for any obstruction there are non ! Still getting the fo6 error code what could it be ?
Had similar with ours was a faulty computer board but was cheaper to get a new machine than repair. You could try a reset which is holding in Power button for 3 seconds
Mine done the same, but sometimes the lock would get stuck. It's make 5-6 loud clicks where the lock is attempting to unlock. Sometimes it'd fix itself, sometimes it'd get stuck but after a reset it'd be ok.
Took lock mechanism apart and found it had heavy wear stopping the lock mechanism latching.
£35 for a new lock, flat head screwdriver to renew, easy.
Do not replace the machine just for this fault. Not sure why OC decided it was the computer, sure hope it wasn't a repair man who replaced the machine for them...

Aqualtis 11KG. Locate the position of the lock by gently prising the top of the door and shining a torch down the gap. Switch the machine on and pull on the door giving it a thump over the lock position with the edge of a closed fist or something heavy wrapped in something soft. It's the only way I can get the lock to free off when it gets stuck because the door part has a loop section, which engages into a hook inside the lock itself, and it can't be freed off by any off the above means. A spray of WD40 inside the lock area and a few goes at locking and opening the door stopped it happening again. Run an empty/cleaner wash cycle after using WD40 just in case any has got onto the rubber gasket.

Your video came up on a search I did, but although I'm getting the F-06 error (and scary flashy lights), this happens at the start of a cycle, and the door will open, so not sure how to resolve it - any ideas at all, please?
Try powering off for 5 mins at the plug. Else it could just be a real fault, maybe the pump or a computer board fault.

@@lucieburns1904I strongly hope you didn't do a call out or end up replacing a perfectly good washing machine.
All error 6 means is a fault with your lock, a new one costs £35, and can be replaced with just a small flathead screwdriver.

What if that F06 code came up you switched the machine off and door opened but then when you went to start it back up again, the locked symbol display was red and beeping what does this mean?
Could be a faulty door latch mechanism. Try resetting the washing machine, I think you can do this by holding the Power button for 3 seconds.
New mechanism can be bought from Hotpoint for £35, easy to change👍

@@Jackgamingvlogs1476 give it a really good clean on all the rubbers and drawer and then run a drum clean programme at 90c to clean it properly

Oh, sounds like a faulty door sensor. Give it a gentle whack, if not then time to call someone out probably.

Not sure. If it’s still working ok then don’t worry. Probably has a fault on the door lock sensor.

Oh dear, they can be a bit noisy sometimes. Check that the washing machine is level

Door lock is failing, £35 for a new one direct from Hotpoint. Easy to renew.
I took my faulty one apart to see why it failed, I found a small plastic lever inside that had heavy wear so when the solenoid operated the latch wouldn't always catch. Resulting in the mechanism seizing.
Isn not problem to pay new mashine to seting the old mashin the job

@@LurgsHowToGuides I did, when you started you had clothes in there, but when you say powering down didn't fix it, about a minute in, magically the machine is empty.

Cartooon THAT Yeh we spent £150 on a dishwasher repair buying a new drainage pump then a week later it just blew up anyway. I try to fix everything but at some point it's time to get a new one.

My door opened there no problem.
Same error on whilpool. Washing machine was showing f06 and drain pump was constantly activated. Left the machine unpluged and didnt help, but after removing and emptying the filter down at the bottom the door opened and didnt have a problem since.

If it still keeps happening it's probably a faulty door switch.

Never buy this bread, I have error f11, me pump its fine also filter and all rest it's clean. Now I get f5 than f6.. Me machine have 6 year warranty and at all machine it's work 8 months. So don't do me mistake to buy this brand.
