Let me add one more way. (It's similar to #1 in the video, but it didn't work for my machine.) If your washing machine has a "door lock" indicator/light and it's on, turn the knob or switch to the position that turns the light off. Then turn off/ unplug your washing machine and wait for a few minutes. Turn on the machine again. This is how the repair guy fixed it. This lesson cost me USD25. Hope it helps you.

There are different types of washing machine lock. Mine doesn't have a moving door handle so the string and card methods won't work. The turn off the electricity and back on method didn't work either. However, there was a variation to your method 5. There was a manual override on the door latch mechanism. It looked like a trigger inside an arched cover on the lock. Press this & the lock will release. I believe that other machines has switches under the front cover that do the same. It's hard to find references to these.

Excellent video, much better explained than other videos. I used the string method, and one thing the other videos didnt explain was how much force is required. I was pulling so hard I snapped the whipper snippet cord twice. I got lucky on the third go. Thanks so much saved me a call out fee

Ive tried every method multiple times, still locked! I have the exact machine in this video. Is there anything more specific to do once inside other than wiggling? When this issue occurred the door handle made a snapping noise and is clearly semi broken but still in one piece, although its a wonder i haven't snapped it in frustration! All suggestions very welcomed

Tried the less invasive techniques first and then hubby broke the handle off and we ordered a new one from espares. Needed a new handle anyway, so - sorted. Job done! Lol 😁 was worth a try though.

Oh Yeah. Saved by TH-cam. I was stuck with no way to go forward. Until you said "move the concrete back". Then I realised that with the bowl pulled back I could get my hand and a light into the tight space behind the latch. I pulled the bowl back and roped it in place. Then a screwdriver tip on the hook itself pushed the hook and opened the door. The plastic hook support in the door was broken and the handle could not move the hook.
Thank you for your help. The service people said it would be 5 days before they could get a mechanic to me. 5 days!!! Their business is 5 minutes away down the road. Outrageous.

Further to my previous comment, my neighbour (a man) repeated every method with no luck, so removed the broken front piece of the door handle, pulled out the tiny white bit of plastic that had snapped, and opened the door using a flat screwdriver which is going to be my method from now on. I cant see the point in paying to replace the handle on an 8 yr old machine.
I hope this is helpful for anyone with the same issue and same model as my machine and the one used in this video - Time Manager by Electrolux

I'd recommend the wire or "string" as I used... it was really easy!
I wouldn't however recommend buying Hoover/Candy... poor customer service and delivery was very late!
