- Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has landed in Australia, after walking free from a US court.
Assange was pursued by US prosecutors for publishing secret military information, and feared a long sentence in a high-security US prison.
But, last week, he signed a deal with the US that would see him plead guilty to one charge, instead of the 18 he was originally facing.

I’m happy he is release but at same time imagine he would have released secret documents from your country (let say for example Austria) Austria would have probably tried to arrest him … almost any country in the world would have want to arrest him if he would have release secret documents from theirs .

I personally would prefer that any crimes my government commits are made public knowledge. I'd rather not vote for war criminals or corrupt politicians. A free press is actually a part of the American Constitution, meant to prevent corruption by giving power to journalists to expose crimes and lies. So of all countries, the USA above all should not have prosecuted a journalist, its legally against their constitution.
They would try to arrest him and bring him to court and charge him with crimes (if this was a crime to show truth) NOT to let him rot in prison for 12 years!
@@beebkapeepka yes he exposed many crimes but let say there were no crimes it would be still illegal to reveal secret governmental documents… it’s a heroic act to expose crimes but there can be lot of consequences to exposes other secrets too
