Never did julian speak more than grunt yes, no and smile at me. I had no idea his English as mine wasn't American English. He was very much little brother to me, and remains dear.

As for your assertion that Julian should be compensated for a politically driven prosecution, that ship sailed when he wisely took a plea agreement. Assange's persecution/prosecution was affected with the aid of four presidents, two parties, the US intelligence community, US state department, and NATO/ SEATO related political and intelligence communities with the aim of neutralizing him and his freedom-of-speech ilk (i.e. unaligned media). Something fishy about the cost of this flight... surely you could lease a small jet for a lot less than that?
Something fishy about your knowledge of jets, small jets have a range of about 1500 miles, which funnily enough is slightly less than 10000 miles. Also it's called "chartering".
@@xiaofengxiaofengxiaofengxi4651 please explain... so are you telling me that every Hollywood actor or business CEO who flies from the UK to Australia in a chartered plane pays $500K? I doubt it... rather than snark, how about educating us on why JA's plane cost so much?!

Gabriel, brother of Julian Assange, is well spoken. I never knew julian had a brother. I met julian long ago at Fort Benning. Ironic my first English is British English as was my kidnapper from age two Ivan from u.s.s r., his first English was British English. I hid my British English from my childhood in Texas then Alabama schools, ran away age 21 to military, got tossed into c.i.a as k g.b creative warfare stage 1 in any world war. No world war happened all those 35 years now honourably retired. Julian helped me break difficult codes by his control of a room of giant computers. If computers couldn't break codes, Julian often silently walked up to me, lt.colonel rank all 35 years, he handed me the code for people to break code using human creativity. Never did julian speak more than grunt yes, no and smile at me. I had no idea his English as mine wasn't American English. He was very much little brother to me, and remains dear.
The Australian or US government or UK government or some combination should have paid for his flight back to Australia. There's no way the Assange family should be responsible for that. Luckily I'd imagine that they will be able to crowd-fund it.
Biden, Albo and Sunak should write it off and compensate him over their 14 years of torture and bloody mindedness.

Trump has his opportunity to pardon Assange and chose not to.
You're right. Trump was threatened and intimidated by the intelligence and military community. I honestly think he was too scared in the Jan 6 aftermath to roll with it. Agree
37 million of Assange's legal expenses were covered by blockchain assets including Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) (NFTs, are blockchain-based tokens that each represent a unique asset like a piece of art, digital content, or media). The fact that Assange is now being hit with a transportation bill for 500k is chickenfeed by comparison and will most likely be covered by one of his attention seeking, brand building celebrity friends who want to be perceived as radically chic in the wake of Assange's release.
That would be a huge relief. Julian deserves to be able to retire now in peace and without debt.
He will go down in history as a hero to be remembered for 100 years.
Wow! Your cynicism speaks volumes. Julian should be recompensed for illegal imprisonment. His exposure of war crimes by the self appointed policeman of the world, America, was necessary and interestingly, they have never appeared at the Hague to be accountable for those war crimes. You don't embarrass or expose the 'most powerful country in the world'. Good on Julian. We will help him here in Australia.
@kalayne6713 Watch and wait; celebs and ex-celebs will flock to his side with the hope that they can bask in his post-incarcerated fame and steal some of his light in much the same way that they did when he was held up at the Ecuadorian embassy - narcissistic celebs who have been conspicuously silent during his five years of incarceration. Assange would have been sitting in prison until the cows came home regardless of who was democratically elected in the US. Had it had not been for Bobby Kennedy making a pledge to pardon Assange (if elected), Biden never would have green lighted a plea bargain
@@kalayne6713 Australia did NOTHING for him until the current government stepped in because Albanese (just like any other leader in the world) smelled blood and that Biden is weak, that's the right moment to hit the U.S. with a pressure campaign (or war) - when they have a weak President. You have congratulated the PM, but the PM himself has said that he does not approve of Assange's actions. Doesn't that tell people like you that he lacks integrity and should be void of any praise. He is not a journalist and he will never be one. He is not a hero, real heroes would be embarrassed by his actions. The day he puts classified documents regarding Australia 🇦🇺 onto the public domain, Australians will have a very different opinion of him.
Why wasn't he allowed to just use a commercial flight? That's a gross waste of resources.
