Hey guys! Today I'll show you how I take notes, my note-taking process before, during & after lectures. Also, I'll compare the pros and cons of different note-taking methods I use such as typing my notes, taking notes on the iPad and making summary sheets on paper.

I can't afford an iPad and my laptop is really heavy too so I usually just write my notes on paper but I think I'll begin doing summaries at home cause it's too stressful to try to get the information in your head and in paper at the same time 😅

If you can’t write everything in the lesson, try recording the lesson on voice memos as it records everything your teacher says x

In highschool (2016 I graduated) my teachers let me use Google drive to type my vocabulary and they sent me worksheets through drive and I did it then shared it back to them. Great video!
I’m old school because I’m old. I study 📚 to keep my mind active. I lift weights too keep my body from decay. I also battle with undiagnosed ADHD. Back in the 60s and 70s there was little help for me. Enough about my challenges! lol 😂 Thank you for a great video. It was challenging, informative and encouraging.
I usually hand write my notes because I'm fast while writing with a pen than typing on my laptop .

I always had an iPad and a laptop but i always loved my handwriting and always took notes with the pens and pencil and i always buy cute things to summarize it with to keep me motivated ❤️✨

I've always handwritten my notes. I can't change that I'm just old School that way lol.
Thank you @Ellen for creating and posting this video. Your process is really awesome. I really liked the way you combine typing on the Laptop (before lecture), handwriting on iPad (during lecture) and typing on paper notebook (summary sheet). I really liked the concept of summary sheet. There are lot of key takeaways in this video, which I will use to augment my note taking process.

My school sadly doesn't allow to get computers, laptops or phones. So I have to carry books for every subject except Sports of course. We don't even have lockers so everyday I have to carry every book I need to have for the day. Although we only have 7 subjects a day, so most of them might have sports, arts or music so that is just a little treat, but we can take notes in papers then we get home we can transfer it onto my laptop and print it out. You inspire me everyday please keep up the good work :)

Guys quick tip : Handwrite your notes and diagrams and put them on one note and download online chapters it really helps must try

Since i can't afford an ipad, i use my phone a lot for note taking. I usually type everything in the same app you use. It helps a lot. Btw looking out for more videos from you!

I'm from India and in my school, we're not allowed to use electronics so I write them down in a notebook. But since it's lockdown now we have online classes, I type most of my notes and write down notes for math on a book as I don't have an iPad Pro or an Apple Pencil that is compatible with my iPad. I’m in sixth grade and this video made me so excited about high school. Elementary in Canada don’t have a lot of homework lol. (Just eight years of TOTAL fun)
I usually hand write but I’m gonna start typing them while in class then going over and writing after class. Its harder to handwrite everything while the teacher is talking and you miss some things

ANSWER FOR THE QUESTION OF THE DAY :
well for me, it depends on many factors like mood, place and amount of notes. Big chapter can take many pages to write notes. But overall, i prefer handwritten notes as it makes me easy to understand and memorize quickly. Typed notes also works for me, but it is more easy for me if i take a print out of it. overall, i can say i am a visual learner and it is better for me to read and understand notes if the papers are in my hands.

So many people do this (before, during and after) method so I decided to try it this new school year! I'm starting next monday
Another advantage of taking notes digitally is that if u miss out any important point to add, u can add it in middle of the para or topic whereas that is not possible in manual.

I handwrite my notes because here in India schools don’t allow laptops ,iPads,phone etc..😞but actually in my case if I am scribbling my notes on my rough copy while understanding a topic or concept and it always helps me (that’ s my dad’s tip)
I have never had problem taking notes before bc in elemenatry school I didn't have to write down anything but the things on the board. And the concepts were pretty easy so I didn't need to take extra notes. In my middle school devices are not allowed so I cannot have my tablet with me (even though that would be perfect for me bc I am small sized and if the only thing I needed was a tablet then I would have no problem!) but I will write down a little summary of the chapter with what I understand from the textbook!

Awesome video! I just got a new iPad and I was really hoping to use it with OneNote!
I usually do both as for some subjects like math or science it hard to type and for some subjects like social studies it is easier to type rather than writing .
I handwrite because no technology is allowed in my school, it's only allowed for the seniors who are leaving the school after the school year and that is also only allowed on special occasions (award ceremonies, school talent show, etc)

Most notes in my school have to be almost exclusively handwritten and iPads or laptops aren't allowed during class so I always do notes on paper.

Even though there are studies that prove handwritten notes help memorize more than typing, the reality is that it depends on the person. I always thought that I was able to memorize better with handwritten notes, but I realized I did not. Mostly because I realized I have some kind of OCD and I would focus much more on how my notes looked and making them pretty, printing out diagrams, pasting them, making my own colored pictures, that by the time exams were due I found out I had not learned anything. With typing them, I am able to focus better, and find any pictures and diagrams in a split second to add to the notes and learn more. Let me tell you, I had one of the most beautiful handwritten notes for my anatomy class, yet failed it due to handwritting everything. So, it really depends on the person. Do what is more convenient for you.
I tend to write my notes but if the teacher gives us a format online I use that and print it :)

I like the method of my laptop for the initial note taking however, since I don`t have an iPad what I usually do is turn the One Note document into a PDF and print it out and then take notes on the sheet during lectures and then go ahead and add a note-sheet (before printing the document) on the back of the PDF so I can do a final handwritten review of the Chapter notes on the back side.
I write my notes but I am looking into transition into typing my notes because its more convenient and doesn't come with the bulkiness of carrying notebooks, textbooks and binders to class everyday.
well, im fast in both paper and and laptop... i usually keep a rough notebook by my side while taking my notes, and then after im done with my classes i write in down nicely in my fair notebook... since i attend my classes on the laptop its hard to minimize it, or use both apps together...

The cheap iPads now support Apple Pen, hence I got my combo for EUR 420 / roughly USD 450. I have only little memory, but all my notes are on cloud services (GDrive, iBooks and OneNote), so haven't had any problems at all.
I usually write them by hand because I don’t have an Apple Pencil and we can’t bring any electronic in class

Super late but I tend to type up notes on laptop (I do Medicine and we learn via PBL senarios - we come together on the start of the week to get a senario, then return a few days later for discussion) this way I can add on notes during discussion sessions easier, then I hand write after the session to digest the information after reorganising my notes with the information I lacked during the discussion session
