Rony is Lebanese, but lived in Greece as a youngster before moving to the states to play college and pro ball.. his blood is Lebanese and we are all proud he is from our country

An era of many underappreciated bigs who would be bigger names in today's game where guys like Dwight Howard and Roy Hibbert are the elite. Smits and Seikaly are just two names that come to mind.

hell nooo, seikali was nasty and all but not close to howard on his prime nigga, u crazy, and mo hibbert isnt considered elite at all, more like others who are also better than reikali like marc gasol, his brother, noah, theres a new guy that is better than this guy already hassan whiteside, there were better bigs back then than there are now, and there are better guards now than back then, but reikali wouldnt be top ten today, maybe top 15

bernard james son, Dwight has no post game and whiteside is not better than seikly here. Ronny has polished post moves, white side doesn't he's still learning. Dunks don't make you a better player just a better dunker

He was a very underrated player. He replaced Shaq in Orlando and there was very little drop off in point production at Center.

    Seikaly's post moves were Olajuwonesque

    • @comfortat
      @comfortat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Are you high? Or merely using hyperbole for a player you like?
Maybe Rony could fake out the centers on the Bulls, but he was no match for the premier centers in the league. Olajuwon made fools of Ewing, Robinson, Shaq, Mourning, Mt Mutombo, etc etc. Hakeem was the best center in the league during the Golden Age of Centers. Along with the HOF centers I already listed, there was Parish in Boston, Jabbar in LA, Moses Malone in Philly (and Wash and Atl), Jack Sikma, Bill Laimbeer, Mark Eaton, Sam Bowie, Mychal Thompson, James Donaldson... almost every team had a quality center, and the Dream spanked them all.
The other thing about Olajuwon was his playoff performances. He was even better when the postseason arrived. Seikaly shrank in his few times in the NBA tournament. And Rony never carried a team on his back like Hakeem did.
Please, never compare these two players again. It's like comparing Kerry Kittles to Michael Jordan...
      Peace.

      3:08 steals ball from Olajuwon
      3:19 draws foul against Olajuwon
4:06 tight defense forces missed shot
The Rockets had a strong squad that year and won the Finals. Heat had a weak squad but if you look at the 1on1 plays you can see Seikaly was a strong competitor. Olajuwon didn't exactly dominate Seikaly. That night Olajuwon had 23 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists. Seikaly had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists. All their games were pretty much like this. Seikaly did get Olajuwon's number a few games but that's not the point. If you look at the way he plays the elite Big's, Seikaly was a competitor. Strong rebounds, boxes out, posts them up like c'mon. He isn't weak. Like I said, he held his own. And don't get me started on Ewing. Ewing wished he had Seikaly's moves. That's why they called him the Spin Doctor. He had 34 rebounds in one game. th-cam.com/video/_1I_lg_0EZ8/w-d-xo.html
Like who does that?? Career high. Dennis Rodman also had a 34 rebound game. Also a career high.
Here's a game against Ewing. You can see how he plays 1on1 with Ewing. I'm sure Ewing would tell you Seikaly was no cakewalk. th-cam.com/video/rmY1_o5JFz0/w-d-xo.html
Olajuwon career high rebounds was 25.
Ewing career high rebounds was 26.

He was a decent offensive player, but he was a matador defender. Check out his sucky playoff stats sometime. He never played on a team that won 50 games, or made it to the second round. You can judge his value by what teams gave up to get him.
