Growing up in Orlando it was great to see this Orlando team from the start, I was lucky enough to see the first games in person in 89, used to see Shaq in the downtown clubs back then, we actually snuck in to the 95 playoffs against the Rockets in the Orlando arena and sat about 10 rows up, what a time for sports and a great era to live, the 90's
It's such a shame we never saw Webber more than one season in Golden State. They had Sprewell, an injured Tim Hardaway ready to come back, an old Chris Mullin, Gatling on the bench... This could have been a fun team to watch.
Avery Johnson was a late addition to replace an injured Tim Hardaway. If that team could have stayed together they would have been great. Still had a 50 win season.

Great game, all the young stars probably had something to prove. Shaq was #1 pick in 92 and had to show #1 rookie Webber. Penny and Webber were traded together so they probably had to show that they were more valuable to their teams. Sprewell was the outsider who proved to be a star and didn't want Penny to outshine him. And all these players were pre-injury state in their athletic prime. I am impressed especially with Webber who was far more athletic than his Bullets or Kings versions.
Bullets Webber had all of this speed and explosiveness. Kings Webber still had a little at the beginning. His injury in '01 is when everything really fell apart.
The young Magic had that knack of dominating but fell short of getting the job done. That's why they signed Horace Grant the next season. Nice to see Pop and Avery Johnson celebrating. A year later, they returned to San Antonio, laying a culture and legacy which remains in place until now.
