Aging Carolina Red Flake: A Conversation with San Diego Pipe Club

While attending the Las Vegas International Pipe Show in October, our Head Blender, Jeremy Reeves, had the opportunity to talk with Chris Plumber of CopperBeard Pipe Works and San Diego Pipe Club and discuss an experiment Chris tried on C&D’s 2022 batch of Carolina Red Flake, aging the blend in three separate jars, three separate ways for one year. Utilizing CRF 2022 as the control in the experiment, compared to vintages from 2019 and 2020, this test showcases the capacity of significant change afforded from aging pipe tobaccos.

Great video and lots of ideas. Thank you for all you are doing for the tobacco pipe world. The tobacco's you blend, not just for C&D, but so many various labels is a testabment to your experience and ideas. We need more videos like these to bring pipe smoking back to a new generation.
