I would love to make a boy doll with a little business tie to show he is having a flustered work week. Having simple accessories you could make a whole series of people and occupations. I might get my daughter to make mammy, daddy and herself. Very very sweet. Thanks.
We all know how to finish your sentences since we speak the same language. ( LOL ). This is such an inspiring project. Great children’s toy for teaching that we’re all different but still lovable with all our quirkiness. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your creative soul. Your "process" is a lot like mine. If you have those little magnets for crafts, you can drop them in the end of one or both hands and they hold on to your refrigerator so the grandchildren can find a friend on their visits. I make monster dogs and cats too. Just found your channel and subscribed immediately. ^•,•^ Thank you again from Gold Beach Oregon.
I so enjoyed this tutorial of yours. Your commentary was hilarious. I can identify with how you approach the making of your scrappy monster dolls. Thank you for sharing your “just have fun” approach! Off to begin mine!
Thank you so much! ADD does make it hard for me to stick with one craft for long. But I also like mixing things up. Each day I focus on just making one thing, and then I feel like I've accomplished something. Lol
These are so beautiful & adorable!!!! Are they easy to make for someone who has never sewn before? I'm really interested in learning how to make dolls. Especially, with a variety of different fabrics. Are you only using cotton fabrics? Or, are they all different types of fabrics? Would you be able to make some for others if we/ I/ they bought most or all fabrics? I just lost my mom on October 5, 2024. In my culture, on her one year anniversary of being gone we have a huge giveaway for her family/ friends & to honor everyone who helped with her funeral services, too. I don't know how to sew. I'd love to learn, but, I don't have anyone in my family to teach me. My mom really loves Halloween so these dolls are perfect for her memorial & giveaway. I'd be able to pay you for your time. Thank You. ❤ Lily
Thank you so much 😊 I mostly have leftover cotton fabrics from my quilting days, so that is what I used for these. I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I don't make to sell anymore. It caused me too much stress 😬 There are tons of TH-cam videos that teach how to use a sewing machine and sew simple patterns. These dolls were made to be imperfect, so you can't really mess them up. I wish you luck and again I'm sorry for your loss 🙏🙏🙏
@ thank you so much. I love how you showed us how to make these beautiful dolls. Out of all that I came across so dear, these steal my heart! Happy Holidays!!!! 💛💛💛💛🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🥰🥰🥰
Those are ao cute. I've made several of those. They were called I think, Junky Jane dolls, or something like that! Yes I need to make some more of them. Have you made the Teesha Moore patches. You could make the dolls out of patches. Just a thought! Thanks for reminding me about these dolls! 😂
You're welcome! The Teesha Moore patches are so fun to make you won't be able to stop. I made a bunch for swaps. I'm going to try one Junker Jane monster doll, something like yours. Have a great day!
Rookie sewer here. Was looking for something fun to try and gain experience I think this would work well. Would you think making the faces easier at the start or after they been stuffed? I am always worried about doing something wrong. Is any one way wrong or just personal preference to an individuals skill or ability? I cannot wait to get into something soon!
I think these dolls are great for newbies because they don't have to be perfect or look a certain way! For this style of doll, I found it easier to make the faces first because I wanted to use the sewing machine stitches. If my doll had hair, I would be able to hide the knots if I just wanted to sew buttons for the eyes. Then I would make the face after it was sewn together. It all depends on what you want your doll to look like. There is no right or wrong way with these dolls. 🙂

This would be a great doll to use to minister to children who are struggling. It would correctly express what they are feeling.

How did u make the mouth?
Hi. I first used a straight stitch with the sewing machine and then went over it again with a zigzag stitch.
Thank you! Really great tutorial, just what I was looking for.
