    Super cute! If you make extras, don't forget nursing homes. My mom received a Raggedy Ann doll as a present, and not only did it decorate her room, but she slept hugging her doll, every night. :)

      @@SharaLee60 Shari, that would be so great! Just before Easter I made three mermaid dolls (easy, dolls were printed on the fabric panel), and 15 zippered toiletry bags. I put a nice Kiss nail file and a chapstick in each bag, cute fabrics too, and brought to the nursing home. the activities director called me and said they LOVED everything, but especially the mermaids! Who knew?

    An easier way to copy the face is to put the face (paper/drawing) underneath the fabric, draw the face and then baste the fabric to the flannel

    I really love all your tutorials and very creative and useful patterns. You’re very talented. Ok, so like I have been sewing for let’s say for many, many years and I have just 1 very simple suggestion as far as the transferring of the face details. How about taking the outside body fabric, after you cut it out and before you baste it to the flannel body part and trace the details by putting the paper pattern under the fabric, trace it on w/frixion pen or even a #2 school pencil (very lightly), then baste the two pieces together and carry on with all the next steps. (By the way, pencil is ok to use, embroider right over it and it will not show through your stitches and pencil will fade with all the handle lint of it while stitching,). Hope this eliminates any people who has trouble drawing these types of features onto doll faces. Keep up the great work that you are doing. Thanks so much. Mary

    Excellent instructions. I am an experienced sewer but haven't sewn much for awhile. I have a new machine and wanted to sew something that would get me used to the machine. And be fun. And a new baby willl soon be part of the family so will send this to her.

    Right now, I'm learning embroidery and I'm starting with making the face for a doll that I want to look like a specific Star Trek character. It's really fun, and watching your videos is helping me learn a few things before I finalize my first project. As for animals, I have a soft spot for ducks and would totally buy a pattern for a cute baby duck doll. It would be so cute with a little tuft of hair with a bow like this one, and also with the diaper and clothes. You could also embroider the nostrils on the beak. Would make a fabulous Easter gift.

    This was so much fun to make.
    I also made ruby today, i learned what not to do when making her hair, oooh my i had a tangled mess, i didnt following instinct very well 😩
    I used a friction pen to do face markings for embroidery, that worked perfect! I wasnt happy with first one i did so i just hit the iron on it and started over Very fun to make!
    The lil clothes are a a new experience for me, my grandmother use to make tiny things. Its a learning curve for me. Im sure with each time it will be helpful to learning what to or nor to do.

Now i work in childcare in the nursery age group, they children like to play with dolls but we only have “white” dolls when we have a very diverse group of children so i would love to make dolls of different nationalities and bring them in for the children to play with. • @PinCutSew

      Hi there! I only have the embroidery tutorial that this video shows. I know it’s not very thorough, so I’d look up a better beginner embroidery video for that! For the closure, look up an invisible slip stitch tutorial. That’s a good idea for a future video, I’ll work on that soon!

    Hi I recently purchased the pattern to make the rag dolls and just yesterday I purchased my sewing machine, Singer Patchwork sewing machine. Today, Sunday , I was trying to sew a 1/8 width base stitch around my doll and I ended up having to undo all of my stitching because they were turning out crooked and not at all like yours. By the time I make my dolls they are going to really look like rag dolls in every since of the word Lol. O needs help...should I use some thing to measure to help me keep my stitching straight or what. If you have time please give me some direction for just sewing the two pieces together. Thanks a bunch. Beatrice

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Beatrice! So sorry you're having trouble. You can try a couple of things. You can sew the doll without the flannel interlining so that you don't have to sew that step. OR, you can trace the pattern onto the fabrics with a pencil and stitch them together just inside your pencil line and THEN cut them out on the lines. With some practice, your dolls will turn out just fine! :) I hope that helps.

    • @beatricegreene3836
      @beatricegreene3836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay I like the sew inside the pin I’ll but I already cut everything out on the line. Can I try marking just inside the edge of the fabric and is there a device to use to help with markings. Sorry for all the questions but I really want to make my dolly. Beatrice
